The main reason why Stalker thread cares about Survarium.
The new Lost Alpha patch should be out this week or next if anyone is still interested. At least they seem to have put in the work testing this one out and making sure everything is working properly.

Is it really just a generic fps? I mean, didn't they add anomalies and mutants? It also looks pretty unique.I don't understand the hate that game gets, but I guess it is because I haven't been following the development and I haven't played it. Did the devs do some bad business practices or something?

It's a very generic FPS that plays like Call of Duty only it's slightly more tolerable. Here is what I posted regarding my thoughts on Survarium when asked yesterday via the GSC Game World FB Page.

Why didn't they just start with the freeplay? At least I'd think that most of the people were waiting for that from the day they heard about Survarium.

Depends on what you're looking for. I could recommend Valley of Whispers at least, it's a total conversion set on a new level made completely from scratch with a new protagonist and new story.

it's really nothing worth chasing.
Survarium is nice for a peek, but it isnt really a game worth spending a lot of time in. Get it so you can ooh and ahh at the sounds and maps but then you probably wont play much of it again.
I'd just want to test it. See the things and get a feel about the game. I have no real interest in the gameplay at the moment. Still getting a glimpse would be great.

that said, the amount of key giveaways, it's much more a PR/hype thing than actual testing any more it seems
if you're going head first into survarium, you gotta realize that it's a much more slower paced pvp (for the moment) game with very weighty gunplay that requires a sense of finesse, and you've gotta pretty much take advantage of your environment if you want to survive (rushing is never, ever a good idea in this game)

been playing survarium on again off again for the past couple months. main thing i'm going to say is that it is fun, but can be pretty frustrating too because some players will camp just outside the safe zone.
