i love their SKS stock, i've been trying to get a good look on it's profile so i can try my hand at making a new stock for my old yugo sks. only thing that irks me is that all the iron sights are adjusted for extreme ranges. the sks one is all the way up to the 1000m notch.
Survarium is nice for a peek, but it isnt really a game worth spending a lot of time in. Get it so you can ooh and ahh at the sounds and maps but then you probably wont play much of it again.
Unless it really clicks for you that is.

It's not a stalker game yet, to put it that way. Probably never will be either, but freeplay will make it closer.

Right now it's a damn good objective based 8v8 game.
anyone want a survarium key?
I want two keys :v:
I'm alright :v:
I'll wait for the freeplay
anyone want a survarium key?
I wouldn't mind testing it out.

I'm interested in the Freeplay. But if I can help them test and possibly get there sooner, I'm all in. I'm going through college for 3D Animation and Game Design. Testing is something that I can claim to do as part of the course.
It's fun trying to find the little bugs or possible glitches in the game, trying to break it on purpose.
Am i the only one not being interested in Survarium at all?
as far as I can tell thomo_uk and lintz are also not interested in survarium in its current state
and beacon because he obviously gave away his key. or that he had already been in the beta.
I'm tired of these "am i the only one.." questions.

I'm only really interested in Survarium in terms whether it'll be successful and if they can, from that basis, start developing a single-player game based on their new I.P. The Freeplay will be interesting too, but while Survarium's concepts are really interesting, it only really serves as a painful reminder that however good it'll end up being,it's just a F2P Multiplayer game that dies when it's developers will lose interest or go bankrupt. I like the Vostok Games' people, they seem decent and very passionate about their product so I'm kinda rooting for Survarium to be a commercial success, but I'd really want them to get back into developing single-player games.

I'm more of a holding on to the faint hope that Areal is legit and will be decent (won't be expecting even a 2010-> era quality title, more like something SoC was looking like around 2006) even though I'm not entirely too fond of their choice to go with extremely colourful style (i.e. the blue wolf) since it's the closest thing to a single-player spiritual successor to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. now that Nuclear Union is dead.
I was already in it, but I haven't tried it yet as yeah, I'm not really interested in all honesty, not 'till the freeplay

Well excuse me that it bugs you so much :v: Didn't mean to accumulate those feelings with anyone, it was just an honest question after all.
I am not too interested in Survarium to be honest. Doesn't look very impressive in its current state
Indeed, I heard it's a nice shooter and all, but STALKER-wise it lacks in a whole spectrum of areas.
From what I played, it was kind of fun when everything worked, but most of the match was just lagging really badly. Maybe it'll be better when they get some non-Russian servers.
Was fun for a bit, despite the lag. It's more than a simple TDM, and I enjoy that. The environments are really nice and have a good STALKER-ish vibe to them, which makes me look forward to free play even more. It's a bit generic currently, but the core gameplay is solid so far.
The biggest issue I'm having is that I have to restart my PC every time I close the launcher. Something happens, and I'm stuck with black screens (I have 2 screens).
Thanks for the key, Beacon!
Personally I'm not looking for a Stalker 2 type of thing in Survarium like you guys seem to be. Survarium's story seems to be where the entire world is the Zone, which I think doesn't really fit with a Stalker feel. One of my favorite things about stalker was that the world is doing just fine in exception of just one area.
To me Survarium seems to be more like Metro considering the whole world is fucked. So I'm fine with it being more of a "generic f2p fps". I think the only game that should have that Stalker feel is a Stalker game. I'd say that Stalker is pretty unique, and it seems to me that you guys are unfairly comparing Survarium to Stalker when they weren't supposed to be in the first place.
I haven't played (or even followed the development of that much) Survarium so maybe I'm mistaken or just plain wrong/dumb, but it really seems to me that you guys want Stalker 2 out of a game that isn't trying to be Stalker 2 (or maybe it is and I'm wrong, like I said I haven't really followed it all that much).
They've got some Stalker inspired elements yes, but otherwise they're doing their own thing.

Its spiritually like Stalker and takes elements from it in design, especially as the team is mostly made of the Stalker trilogy devs and Stalker 2 devs. But people are honestly hyping themselves for something its not, or atleast won't be until its far more along.
These two get it.
I still don't understand where the disappointment is coming from though. The only reason that survarium is really interesting is the freeroam elements - which aren't in the game yet.
Saying you're disappointed in the PvP alpha is like saying your disappointed in STALKER while playing deathmatch. The freeplay might be shit but right now we have nothing to go on, except that the PvP is generic but looks nice and has a decent level of polish.

It's probably because it plays like Call of Duty. And the only reason for that is BECAUSE the Dev's themselves WANTED it to play like Call of Duty and even said so in an interview quite awhile back.
It's just a very generic playing FPS that so far has absolutely no redeeming features or gameplay aspects that set it apart from any other game. Freeplay is all that it has left to make itself a noteworthy game.

It has absolutely no redeeming factors because you're in a closed beta test in the game's early development when many systems they wish to introduce are not even implemented yet. It feels generic because its not a finished game and won't be for years.
If this game was near finished I'd agree with you, but its not; and won't be for quite a long time. We're meant to work with the developers and give feedback with how the game looks/plays/feels, any problems that we encounter, and just overall have a good time and help each other out make something great.
You have no interest? Then leave, no shame in that.

But again isn't that my point? The only reason STALKER people are really interested in it is because of freeplay. It's not like it's a released game and freeplay is going to be a separate release, PvP is a perfect testing ground for certain features and weapons balance so it makes sense to have a solid base before they make what (for me at least) would be the actual game.

The point is that people lost interest to survarium simply because it lacks anything distinctive and always will in regards to the PVP Multiplayer side of things due to the developers idea of what they want it to be. Freeplay is an entirely different ball game and the way the game plays now might even work for that kind of thing.
It's been going for a long time now, and when the developers said they wanted it to play like Call of Duty in regards to multiplayer, they sure did deliver on that one. They made it boring, generic run of the mil shooter. Hence why it is dull and mundane. Nothing is redeeming about it because they have no intention of making it so when it comes to the matter of the general multiplayer.
So you're saying you were looking forward to the PvP multiplayer as well as the freeplay, and are disappointed in what the PvP turned out to be?
So you're saying you were looking forward to the PvP multiplayer as well as the freeplay, and are disappointed in what the PvP turned out to be?
In a sense yes.
When I first read the interview I had assumed it was just a general goal, to attain the sort of player-base numbers as Call of Duty and have some sort of similar factors between the two. In a sense that it would merely be a influence for ideas rather than a basis for what they thought the game should be. As such. I lost much interest in Survarium but retained some hope in the idea that it wouldn't BECOME Call of Duty so to speak. Sadly however, upon playing I came to realise that it had indeed BECOME Call of Duty, except it just looks different.
It's a large blow simply because of the people whom made it and the background they came from. And how it was supposed to become a variant of STALKER or at-least a similar game to which you could relate too. I find that Survarium has one last chance to redeem itself (In my eyes and in many eyes of old STALKER players as an example) A lot of people I'm sure are very happy with what Survarium currently is, in relation to the current state of where it is in the development process.
At-least to me anyway I find Survarium lacking and disappointing with no real redeeming, or interesting features or mechanics to it's game-play that separate it apart from the hundreds of other shooters that are currently out. I'm not very good at portraying my point as I've had quite a large amount of Alcohol and as such my cognitive ability is somewhat inhibited.
