ALSO LOST ALPHA WAS PATCHED http://www.moddb.com/downloads/stalker-lost-alpha-v13002-patch Finally

added feature: when checking stash with purple icon and not taking all of theitems, the icon will change to green and will only be removed if you take all - pda chat finetuned, if a participant goes offline, you will see message "connection lost"
Neat.
I haven't gotten Lost Alpha yet. Does this patch fix the majority of crashes?
seems like it's designed to don't really wanna start a new game again so soon though :/
Wasn't one of the problems them needing loads of different models for the same weapon. Eg Ak with PSO Ak with Kobra Ak with PSO and drum mag AK with Kobra and drum mag Then some code to switch the weapon you had with another which has a different attachment set. I can imagine that making all kind of memory problems.
AFAIK, yes. So one attachment requires two different models, Two attachments requires four different models and so forth
seems like it's designed to don't really wanna start a new game again so soon though :/
I am definitely not restarting my playthrough, fuck that My current plan is to wait until there is a healthy alternative to the terrible, buggy cars and marathons you have to suffer with later on in the game
It was abandoned iirc. Dont know why because it's extremely high quality stuff indeed :/ [editline]11th July 2014[/editline] ALSO LOST ALPHA WAS PATCHED http://www.moddb.com/downloads/stalker-lost-alpha-v13002-patch Finally
Oh boy, time to reinstall it.
I am in love with DMM:AE. I just found it last night [idk how I didnt know if it before] and I am having a blast. I felt like top shit when I hid under a truck to kill bandits. Even smiling as I shot them down with little to no worry since I'm still in that shitty hobo phase. Then one lobs a grenade and it bounces off the edge of the truck and drops directly down infront of me. Ended up dying by bleeding out, but I did sort of escape the full blast. This is the best.
I thought they weren't going to change alife stuff
Initially they weren't but the scope of the patch just grew and grew
Render update looks ... nice [t]http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/12/11987/la_Swamps_1.jpg[/t]
I'm installing Lost Alpha soon as it finishes downloading. In the update, I noticed Cloud Shadows being a part of that. Which engine version is this based off of, CoP? I don't remember moving clouds or skyboxes...
I think it's their own highly tuned version of the stalker engine, I am not too sure though.
Anything that fixes the gun ejection port stuff in Shadow of Chernobyl? Where they eject on the right instead of the left? Does AMK do this or is it no go in shoc?
I downloaded the Lost Alpha, patched it and ran it fine. However, when I tried putting the SLAM pack on, the game no longer launches and complains that my graphics card does not meet the requirements. I think my graphics card is more than enough to run this game. Anyone else get this issue and know how to fix it?

That's also why it isn't DX11 compatible, sadly. IF they'd implant some DX11 features, they could've saved up on performance by a reasonable percentage
Does anybody have any challenges for beating the games? I remember beating redogs without shooting everyting and with no armor.
Don't anyone have any like that pic where you had to go and touch the statue in Pripyat?
So with patch 2 for LA I think I am confident enough to begin a full playthrough of the game. I only got up to the Garbage before realizing all of the issues others were having later in the game. At that point I just stopped playing and instead waited for the second patch to be released.
Don't anyone have any like that pic where you had to go and touch the statue in Pripyat?
Here's one for Doom's Mod merge/Xiani's Freeplay Start : [t]http://i.imgur.com/BxrGO.jpg[/t] [editline]herp[/editline] Permadeathing the games is a good challenge as well ; while giving yourself equipment restrictions can make the game harder, ultimately saving and reloading will make most challenges eventually beatable as long as you have the patience to game the system, while dealing with the permadeath restriction every fight might potentially force you to restart your run, making it feel like the combat has tension, even if you're allowed to use most of your regular equipment. Although maybe for Clear Sky, permadeathing until you reach the CNPP plant should be good enough(meaning you "win", once you've beaten the Catacombs), because that place is just insane and surviving it is more determined by luck than anything else.
I've always thought quick saving didn't really complement stalker's gameplay that well. I guess I might do a run with perma death.

It plays way better, especially since they populated the previously empty areas with a-life. My only gripe so far has been the placement of the bar, you have to walk all away around the entire complex before you can find the entrance.
This is so beautiful [t]https://scontent-b-ams.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xap1/t1.0-9/10492586_841706182507610_5570047413114996526_n.jpg[/t]

LA's engine is a frankenstein of X-Ray 1.0007 and X-Ray 1.6, really. Probably X-Ray 1.0007's core with 1.6's newer engine features tacked on.

Well, at least someone on the Dez. team said they made the render from scratch
Man all the information that's false on the GSC thread makes my head spin. IIRC vintar himself said so. Well, at least someone on the Dez. team said they made the render from scratch
I'm pretty damn sure that's false. Otherwise it'd be a damn strange coincidence that R3 uses the exact same shaders as CoP/CS, plus with all the functionality just being there and working perfectly.
So is this Areal thing a real project?
So is this Areal thing a real project?
I'm not convinced it is - for me, the real kicker is that after all this time they've failed to show us a single in-game asset. The only original material we've seen is about seven pieces of concept art.
Well it doesn't look like it will meet their goal anyway if they don't show anything from the game, they've only raised about 2 grand in the last 3/4 of the kickstarter
