I don't think anyone does.
I'm really, really digging the new MISERY mod.
I hated 2.0 with a passion, but 2.1.1 is fucking fantastic. It feels like a completely new game.
It's a bit pedantic about some things, but the overall feel is great.

I hope that the Areal devs will put up the Kickstarter up again when they have something concrete to show for their efforts. I'm glad if no-one'll have to put in money for what they believe is a false effort but if their work checks out, I hope that the project will get funded by people who won't get confused as to what their actual work that they've done thus far is.
[editline]herp[/editline]
it is quite clear where their entire ethic and morals lie considering the shit that's gone down.
[del]I don't really care about ethics and morals of the developers as long as they'd be able to produce a decent product via a way of funding that wouldn't outright scam anyone out of their money.[/del]
Well okay, the way the developers sockpuppeted their AMA on Reddit was awful, there's no way around it. But if they can procure funding while being honest about their product, I still believe that the possibility of getting a decent new game is better than the developers getting their rightful "comeuppance".
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. began as a game that made a lot of grandiose promises, many of which they couldn't keep and many of which were mostly likely lies in the first place(as with gudman pointed out some months ago in the case of the A-Life system they had claimed to have which didn't really materialize in any point of the development), yet S.T.A.L.K.E.R. turned out to be one of our favourite game series. If you, or other people who have, or have considered, donating to the Areal's cause, feel that they're not worth the trust anymore to donate more money then you have every right to be wary of their promises but as for me personally, I don't consider it a loss at all if Areal devs manage to raise the money for their Kickstarter using legit assets and material they have developed for the actual game they're planning on kickstarting. It might turn out to be anything between a great game and a turd, but the possibility of something good happening out of the fiasco, if the game won't get developed at all is 0%. And after Nuclear Union fell, Areal is the strongest contender for a spiritual successor to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. we have.

I hope it dies out and they don't get a second chance, it is quite clear where their entire ethic and morals lie considering the shit that's gone down.

It's more balanced and less fucky. Some things are still bullshit, such as the perfect aim bandits have and armor/weapon repairs being worth more than a new weapon.

sorry for interrupting you with deafening gunfire
For me, Mole was dead before I even got there.
I have a vendetta against Mole. When I played Soup I entered the agroprom area and a blowout started. Mole would hide like a bitch with all his buddies, and sometimes even the enemies, and when the blowout finished he wouldn't talk to me. It took me like 2 hours of fucking around with him until I finally reloaded an older save. I tried everything, killing him wasn't too smart because then everyone knew about it no matter how silent I was. I tried exploding him with the gas canisters but to no avail, motherfucker is bombproof.

I just got there, but had no issues. [sp]You're supposed to be knocked out, but then you wake up in front of the main Sin guy. Your main inventory is taken away and you're given generic bandit equipment for the next while[/sp]
i get a game over screen once i [sp]wake up after being hit, dying instantly[/sp]
i trying maxing all my relevant needs or decreasing radiation, makes no difference
I remember seeing something in the Lost Alpha ModDB page say there was a bug that happened at random times for them when you enter a certain place from a certain direction. Could this be that bug?

It's very similar to CoD right now, only less BS.
Imagine CoD if it was good and russian.

i got into testing.
i had absolutely no idea what the objectives were and the ui wasn't exactly helpful in that respect either.
It's a better stalker MP than stalker's MP.
Still not freeplay though, will report back when freeplay is out.
What was the name of that nature texture pack with various season options?
What was the name of that nature texture pack with various season options?
Absolute Nature

Thanks! Is there any big difference to the various versions (1,2,3) apart from them being newer/improved?
[editline]just now[/editline]
in other words, is there any point to installing anything but the third one?

It's always recommended Vanilla for a first playthrough. Which of the 3?

Although graphics mods and purely bugfix mods are always good aslong as they don't change gameplay. DO NOT touch Complete. It creates more problems than it fixes and turns master mode to easy mode.
