I laughed at the bucks charging the player and "attacking" him. There is a small chance of that happening during the rut when they are aggressive, but, still. Anyway, hard to believe a team could do that much with X-Ray. Great work.
God damn. The only way I was able to tell it was x-ray was because of the weapon bob, and a few bits of vegetation and some other stalker assets, the wet shader on the shotgun during the rain, and the anomaly. If they replaced those few things it wouldn't even be noticeable STALKER anymore. Also, dem muzzleflash particles :dance:

Usable vehicles in my Stalker? My Monolith can't handle such deep heresy.
Although usable vehicles can be useful from time to time, like in the vast areas of Lost Alpha. (but everyone knows that LA itself was a disappointment which crescendoed with a [sp]gaybow[/sp])

As someone who hasn't played Shadow of Chernobyl before, Lost Alpha is a blast. I love having a way to travel around quicker as well as that same vehicle being a mobile stash so I can offload whatever shit I find there until I get back to Bar or find some unfortunate soul to sell all my shit to. That and I can keep travelling light and take what I think would be necessary for each little mission to god knows where.

LA team surely pushed itself to the max with that. Also, if cars are such an issue then why use them? You can always walk by foot and check some other places nearby while you're at it.

[QUOTE=Koma;45488566]This still isn't a problem for someone who knows how much these maps were adjusted for exploration.[/QUOTE] Yeah, as much as Lost Alpha maps can seem a bit 'empty' as far as traveling human A-Life is concerned, none of the maps really feel like they're huge simply for the sake of being huge, every area is hand-crafted and detailed to the point where it feels like no space is "wasted" and the cars in Lost Alpha handle just fine, they're roughly at the same level as Far Cry 1 for comparison.
Someone considered porting Lost Alpha maps to Call of Pripyat and fill them up with Smart Terrain nodes to let its better AI take advantage of them. This might turn out to be interesting if someone done that properly, although it will be a bit late - Call of Chernobyl developers are doing the same with maps from old builds and earlier Stalker games for years.
STALKER's vehicles are no worse than any other FPS' games vehicles really FPS games have shitty vehicle physics, always. Except Halo, the Warthog is so much [I]fun[/I].

It's in russian open beta as of June 30.
I might give it a check or a short playthrough to see if it's worth of one's time, but even if I won't do it, I'll still be sure that it is.

So I would say that Survarium IS the STALKER sequel in terms of models and art direction. Not sure about the gameplay until freeplay is out.
