Tried Doom'sModMerge: Anon Edition V4 and it's god damn crazy. Not SOUP's level but imagine 2 Pseudogiants, 4 Bloodsuckers and 2 Burers, chasing you while you run through a firefight between Monolithians, Dutiers and Freedomers just to look for shelter to hide from the Emission. And just as you're about to enter the shelter, a Chimera jumps from the side and maul your ass.

Sounds rather like X-COM if it was in the Zone.
But yes, that sounds delighfully chaotic and painfully bad, depending on what you have on your character at the time. A Chimera is hella mean, after all. I remember my first encounter with one during the hunting quests as being an epic duel featuring copious use of shotguns and med-kits.
The ladder leading up the tower structure was glitchy in that playthrough. I've rarely had such fun in Yanov.

I was in Rostok and I went to the merc entrance to the army warehouse. 3 Psuedogiants, 2 chimera, a burer, 2 fracture and a zombie were all there.
Was so terrible. I love AEv4 though. I didn't think Doom's could get better, but holy shit.
This still isn't a problem for someone who knows how much these maps were adjusted for exploration. LA team surely pushed itself to the max with that. Also, if cars are such an issue then why use them? You can always walk by foot and check some other places nearby while you're at it.
I walked on foot through the Countryside level in LA and it was fucking awful. That level is literally just a road with giant illogical canyon walls and houses that had no though put into them with nothing inside and grass sticking through the floor. There is no exploration since the only things in that level were quest related. It was completely devoid of any wandering Stalkers and if you were lucky you got chased by a few boars to break up the tedium of moving through there.
Anyone post this yet?

Now that I have my new R9 280x, I can install some graphic mods. I have dynamic shaders 1.2, and Photo Realistic Zone. Are there any better to install?

Pre or post-patch?

Photo Realistic Zone 2 maybe? (shameless self advertisement, I know)
Nah, I like DS1.2, but it makes a lot of stuff dark. You can try out mine, they're less harsh. Here's a screen to give an example of what I mean:
DS1.2

Mine (dont mind the excessive bloom, I personally like it but it's not included)

I do want to add, DS1.2 has way more stuff going on. It hits heavy, but it's really, really nice. A complete shader package not only improving, but also adding onto the game.
Also,
Phantoms Zone Update!

The Mushrooms in the very bottom left picture. Looks a LOT like the mushroom mesh used in skyrim. Except this has a tinge of green. :v:
I suggested CoP to one of my IRL friends a while back and now he's completed it, he wishes he could play the campaign with me so we can share the experience, so I looked around and found this mod on modb called the soProject. It appears to be multilayer but it doesn't have much information about it except a video and a couple change logs, does anybody know if this actually allows you to play the main game in a form of co-op or is it just like the multilayer on the single player maps because I don't want to waste my time if it's just that.
Thanks.
It's just multiplayer on singleplayer maps with simple A-Life slapped on top.
Im curious if it is really easy to make a Siren mod. I assume the "sight jacking" aka screen looking feature would be the most challenging thing to do.

I have Photo Realistic Zone 2, forgot to put the 2 in. I enjoy stuff being dark, I love using the flashlight.

A few
Stopped playing STALKER after the Lost Alpha release
Did any interesting mods got released? (Except the AA2.05 update)
Can you in CoP have a scope view without removing the viewmodel?
So, I'm building a computer come feb. I have 2 installs of Shadow of chernobyl and 1 of everything else. What mods do you suggest for each? I'm hoping that OGSME will be out by time I get it, so that's one install for shadow, but the other is open.. I was thinking maybe the soup, since I've never been able to play it.
For CoP I've been told I should play Valley of Whispers. Should I stick with TFW for clear sky? Is there any other addon for clearsky that is just as good? Also has TFW updated any??
Can you in CoP have a scope view without removing the viewmodel?
Yes
What are some of the best mods for CoP that makes it really immersive, unforgiving and adds some kind of realism of any kind (I dunno, consumables, sleeping, weather, weapons). Planning to start replaying CoP this weekend and I want this ultra harsh, gritty and atmospheric experience.
Oh, and I love rain and stormy weather, I'm guessing Atmosfear is still the leading weather mod?
Sounds like misery to me
Sounds like misery to me
any other small/big mods that are good in conjunction with it? Stuff like weapons jamming and general overhaul of weapons.
you might like Redux

oh didn't see 'in conjunction'
well, it's an alternative if you don't like the sorta artificially-boosted difficulty

doesn't have to be 'in conjuction', but I'll read up on misery and redux to see what's best for me.
Misery is a pretty gritty experience, and it adds realism in the aspect of eating and sleeping. I have heard that the gunplay can be questionable sometimes, but in my experience it has been pretty "realistic"
Rubles can be pretty tight sometimes, although when you already know where to get a bunch of money you can do well.
Misery has a really, really impressive array of mechanics. The item variety alone is astounding. It's definitely your best shot from the sounds of it and thanks to the open nature of Stalker mods, if somethings not to your taste, chances are you can change it.
I love to see all these mixed opinions about MISERY.
