A cheap solution to the problem would be to go to the gamedata\configs\creatures\actor.ltx and change the player's immunities to 0.0 in the "damages"-section and when you've went past the problem spot, just change them back in. As always, make backups of any file you're about to modify.
So ... I might consider using UDK or CE for a stalker wise / inspired game. Been thinking it through and it combines well with my study the next few years. Its that im alone which makes it hard.
I remember stealth kinda working in LURK at night but it made the AI really dumb.
I think a happy medium if it was even possible would be to use that whole "human AI can't see shit at night" thing but with the tradeoff that nighttime has a lot of dangerous mutant spawns to counterbalance how easy the human enemies would become.
Are there any good animations for Stalker that aren't the SRAP or LURK 1.1? For some reason both of those seem to have the annoying issue where your hand is fucking massive compared to the gun and I hate how it looks. OWR for ShoC didn't seem to have this issue but I don't think that was released, and I already played the game with AA2 (which some guns didn't have massive hands but some did)
Don't know if that's possible though, I'm guessing the AI changes would affect mutants too.

I love Lurk but the AI is retarded. They're pretty decent shooters but when it comes to navigating and manoeuvering around the play, they just gather in a line and aim towards the sky or some other irrelevant place. It makes the game pretty easy.
I always found LURk to be ridiculous. Bandits sniping you with sidearms and stuff
I hated the lack of HUD and the jelly/throwup overlays for health and radiation.
Made the game really annoying as when you were wounded it was basically a death sentence with how hard it was to see anything.
AA2 has overlays, but at least they don't make you look like you got red vaseline in your eyes when you get shot so I didn't mind them so much
I really hope Lurk 1.2 does it better
I don't know, ever since Holden left the LURK team I've started to lose hope. Crossing my fingers, though. Regardless, LURK is still my favorite STALKER mod right now.
Regardless, it'll probably be worth it just for the weapons alone

Just re-started playing Stalker Soup again (Bacon's version)
And I'm getting this strange distance-related graphical bug:

It seems like after a certain distance the sunmask is no longer applied and the world just gets brighter and leaves this ugly inexplicable line.
I want to fix this but I don't know how.
Any tips?
Fuck, I had the same thing with a mod a while back, but I forget how I fixed it.
All I remember was it required a lot of fiddling with the r2_sun_<x> settings
Maybe try to find the default values for them?
Did they fix that stupid bug in People Soup that made every npc have the same loadout?

I actually played with r2_sun a lot already and decided to give up.
You inspired me to test things a bit more and I found the fix -
The r2_sun_depth_near_scale appears to be working incorrectly with my graphics card.
But for some reason changing its value from 1.0 to 0.99992 seems to fix the problem.
If I do anything lower than 0.99990, then grass suddenly doesn't have shadows whereas objects, trees and bushes do.
If I do anything higher than 0.99992, the ground starts to darken as well, creating that odd line.

Scope view have the dot / chevron / dickbutt / whatever and the frame be on the model at all times, would solve the issue of dot either not pointing all the time towards firing pos or the frame being all 2d and boring.

So, I installed Legendary. I copied the gamedata folder in the game directory and noticed that there was also another folder called bin, usually with mods you mostly just need to copy the gamedata folder. I played the mod and later I just checked the bin folder to see what's in there. There was a file called "keylogger.asi". Is this some kind of joke?

It's literally just a hook for checking the J (antirad), U (energy drink) and F8 (food) keys respectively.
I like how the mod starts and you're supposed to kill the bandits at the carpark with no weapons.

Are there any SoC mods that add some sort of weapon bobbing when walking? I never liked how the weapon pos stays the same unless you sprint in SoC
EDIT: Actually scratch that, is there any english mod for ShoC, or at least one that's fairly well translated, that adds new locations (that isn't LA) and won't make me shit blood and brass from being so hardcore? And if so, are they compatible with some sort of animation mods, or do they come with them.
If a mod doesn't have one hit kills for unarmored headshots, it's shit.

I've been trying to find some time and members, but the area is scarce as you're the only one interested in a GOOD project. Most of them just rip off assets and try creating nice levels with too much tropical foliage and stuff. I want something authentic
