Make the sofa a container that always contains loose change and a random small object when you first inspect it.

Find a table at the bar and get drinking, or pull up a chair by the stove and chat with the locals..." Inspired by the Metro series and the unfortunately cancelled mod 'The Gritty Zone', we’re trying to give bases in Stalker a more organic, lived-in feel. We’ve rebuilt the Skadovsk's interior from the ground-up using original and brand new props to create a cosier, more realistic Stalker camp.
That's a good idea, I didn't know you could modify the original CoP maps like that. I hope you're able to add a lot more detail, enterable buildings, etc. I like CoP, but the maps have gotten stale, even with mods.

I can't remember what the guide told me it said
Actually I'm pretty sure it says 'Shelter'
Actually I'm pretty sure it says 'Shelter'
It's (nuclear) SHELTER, which is УБЕЖИЩЕ with the "У" at the beginning whited out.
You know I'm embarrassed to admit I just now noticed 7 years later that the trilogy are all single-threaded games. I just got a FX-8320 two months ago and didn't notice that big of a jump from my 965 Athlon and I was really confused. Same with my 560 Ti to R9 270 jump. Just, ugh this makes me so sad. Are there any reasons why X-Ray engine doesn't support multi-threading or 64-bit setups?
I just beat Call Of Pripyat two times and I'm still not 100% complete.
Haven't played through these games yet and I own all 3, so I want to start and I'm going to play through in order Would you recommend someone who hasn't played these games the 'complete mod' for SoC? Like does the mod ruin anything that's otherwise good for a beginner in vanilla?
Would you recommend someone who hasn't played these games the 'complete mod' for SoC?
It makes the game experience super bland, all of it's touted 'bugfix' features are just from an obsolete version of ZRP and you can find better graphics overhauls elsewhere.
You know what I'm afraid of? That Gunslinger wont be compatible with the engine fixes the english community is making :v: It can't be as easy to just drag'n drop the Gunslinger mod on top of the refurbished engine, can it?
Howdy ho! Figured it was time to quit being a filthy lurker, and since the STALKER threads were the ones I enjoyed reading the most, I figure it wouldn't be right for my first post to be anywhere else. Not much content to add right now, so just have a Monolithian [del]breaking the laws of physics[/del] valiantly throwing himself at the nonbeliever walkway in defense of the holy crystal:
The first part is something like this, not perfect by any means since it's been ages since the last time I played my guitar, but still better than nothing: And the chords played after it are Dm-Am-E-Am with alternating bass, I believe. Hope it helps!
At 0:25, it sounds like the player plays a somewhat different chord and that's the biggest sticking point. It's good that my guess work so far's good.

is there any way to put the prices of equipment lower in Misery? I think the price gauge is way, way too high.
is there any way to put the prices of equipment lower in Misery? Good relationship with factions not guaranteed.
Anyone have experience with this mod? Considering using it for my first (attempt) playthrough of CS (don't crucify me for not doing it vanilla) http://www.moddb.com/mods/arsenal-overhaul-clear-sky
(don't crucify me for not doing it vanilla)
It's always up to your own personal choice if you want to use mods on your first playthrough but it's just recommended to go relatively Vanilla first to get the developers' intended experience. Modded experiences may also be really buggy and prevent you from completing the game because of save corruptations.
- Realistic damage to npc's, a shot to the head or neck is a kill, 1-2 hits to the chest kills
Based on this "feature" alone I would discourage using the mod for your first time, because it would totally destroy any semblance of gear progression and make the game pitifully easy.
Based on this "feature" alone I would discourage using the mod for your first time, because it would totally destroy any semblance of gear progression and make the game pitifully easy.
To be fair, in vanilla CS NPCs will soak up rounds like rays from the sun, so tweaking that part of the game isn't necessarily a bad thing. I do agree that what you quoted sounds like overkill, but on the other hand the default experience of blasting a bandit with a full mag and only having him flinch slightly and call you a mashwasho isn't very fun either :v: [shamelessplug]I did make a tiny mod for exactly this some time ago. Only thing it does is remove the bullshit 60-70% damage resistance all stalkers have by default, which might be a better alternative.[/shamelessplug]
Need help guys. Just installed SHoC and i'm getting a black screen on my new 120Hz monitor, anyone know of a fix? Edit: fixed.

Always. If you don't complete the game first time vanilla. Not only will you run into problems using mods. But you won't appreciate all the content that said mod adds as you won't be in touch with vanilla.
Ugh, I don't know if I'd recommend CS vanilla. You need something to at least fix the invulnerable stagger animations and ridiculous bullet sponge enemies. CoP and SoC, yeah, they're fairly playable on their own, especially Call of Pripyat, but Clear Sky is a mess.
are there any freeplay mods for CoP like doom's mod merge? playing as faction guys etc.
You need something to at least fix the invulnerable stagger animations and ridiculous bullet sponge enemies.
I don't know if the invulnerable stagger animations even can be fixed but SRP makes the NPCs less bullet-spongy while not making the game piss easy. SRP is very recommendable even otherwise, because it fixes a bunch of bugs and apparently the latest version also enables the pistol ironsights which weren't there in the original CS.
are there any freeplay mods for CoP like doom's mod merge? playing as faction guys etc.
Not yet, your best bet is probably to wait for CoC unless it's a completely dead mod or something.
The lists of preferred mods for all three games are out. That entire website is gone.

The rest is ok.
Seeing this job ad by "the cheellki breeki bandit crew" made my day http://www.moddb.com/jobs/c-programmer42
Seeing this job ad by "the cheellki breeki bandit crew" made my day http://www.moddb.com/jobs/c-programmer42
I enjoy the juxtaposition of humorous title and totally deadpan request.
I'm a little ways into Pripyat in CoP and my game keeps crashing. I load up my game and it crashes within 30 seconds every time. Would loading an earlier save help this?
