-Toz porn-
Oh boy, imagine Toz playthrough with GUNSLINGER.
Toz with optics and slug ammo for long range and "Mad Max" Toz (sawn off with stock) for short-medium range.
Survarium is finally getting some European servers soon, so hopefully it'll be playable for more of us now. I was thinking of grabbing one of their gear sets + beta access since it's just $12 at the moment.

I'm really liking that DoF thingie during reloads.
oh my god, the shells have primer fired and unfired versions too
i would use nothing but the toz through the whole game
TOZ finally got the scope it wanted for the last 7 years.
Gunslinger gets sexier and sexier with each new video. So hyped for this mod.
hey buddies
in my absence i've been working on OLR 2.5's translation more coherent
have some samples:

Mixed feelings about Survivarim. I don't get the appeal.
gunslinger will never be released. they just keep finding more and more shit to change and it's never going to stop.
Question, if I'm to get one of the STALKER games which one should I choose out of the 3?

You'll get better gear later on anyways and the guns you get in drop/buy with f2p monies don't time decay and when they decay from usage you can just repair them with f2p monies.

Start with SoC.

ModDB are torturing modders by releasing results literally at the end of the day :(
Is survarium still a fps arena shooter?

buy all of them
play them in order of release (soc, cs, cop)
Is survarium still a fps arena shooter?
Yep, unfortunately. But it's progressing neatly towards a better and better fps arena shooter, and eventually the mechanics will be neat enough for a freeroam game.

If you had to get one, get SoC. Most mods, most expansive, most simple vanilla features.
Then if you needed another, get CoP. Far improved features (especially any two guns, not pistol/primary), artifact detection, weapon/suit upgrading and repair, and so on. Mod selection is far more slim and less overhaul-y, but it's getting there and in the end will likely be the best.
And then if you're really itching for more, get CS. The awkward middle brother that has a mixed bag of features and the fewest mods. Has a pretty nifty faction mod though if you like freeplay.
Speaking of which, anyone got commentary for the best exploration mod? Lost Alpha teased me with all those maps, and they blocked them off due to childish shit like "Logging in progress xDDD." I feel like right now, what I want most is a STALKER mod that just lets me wander around and explore everywhere unhindered. I'm gonna assume SGM or SOUP, but not sure which SGM to look for, as apparently there are all these new versions now.
You know. Now that I've got a mod with my beloved 10mm Auto. I've got some blood on my teeth for something even more ridicoulus.
You see, I went to my HEMA teacher the other day, and we started talking about guns and hunting.
Him, being a big game hunter who've gone to africa a couple of times. Handed me something that should be every hunter in the zones wet dream.

.577 Nitro, baby.
Wanna make Chimeras your bitch? .577 Nitro
Wanna make sure that nasty Pseudogiant stays dead? .577 Nitro
Wanna make Bloodsuckers implode from absolute overkill?
.577 god damn Nitro.
More seriously. I'd love to one day see a rifle capable of firing .577 Nitro in stalker. The rifle and the ammo should of course be rare and expensive as shit (.577 Nitro is allready an insanely expensive caliber to fire.).
I can totally imagine an NPC that is a big game hunter who came to the zone solely for hunting Chimeras and Pseudogiants.
Maybe that could lead to some more hunting quests. The ones allready in the game were some of my favourite sidequests.
A man can dream... :v:
Redux has hunting quests. Find me a .577 well modelled and animated rifle and it's done
I'll even name the NPC after you

Are you for real? Oh man that would be so awesome!
...I just don't know where to look for such a model. :(
Where the fuck is Millenia when you need him. :v:

Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2009 has a .577 Nitro bolt action rifle.
Does anyone own that game, and would it be possible to use it?

Considering the size of the Nitro cartridges, you'd seriously be just fine modifying break-action shotgun models a tad, and then letting it use that ammo.

Once you break 0.787 inches, it's technically a cannon, not a rifle. Go much further, and you might as well start adding in aircraft weapons and flak cannons as man-portable weapons in STALKER. :v:
It'd be fun to see a STALKER mod with more launchers than just your generic bulldog and RPG. Shoker had the infamous M79 Blooper and let it shoot all types of grenades for balance - so I ended up using a it a lot so that I didn't have to manage the extra attachments.

That is true. Hell, my teacher showed me his .577 rifle which was a double barreled one.
.700 Nitro is borderline silly, where as .950 JDJ is completely retarded.

I mean, just look at the video above. .950 is purely for bragging rights and compensation.

To be fair, I rarely use weapons outside standard ammo types in STALKER because it's just not practical for extended excursions.
And yeah, .950 JDJ is completely bonkers/stupid and is entirely for bragging rights as being "big." The only reason you need rifles that huge is if you're hunting elephants, or tanks. And smaller guns can do the elephant bit, but the Nitro series/JDJ don't have practical anti-tank properties, probably even for mid/late WWII.

.950 JDJ never has or will be a practical round. That is for sure. The projectile is so heavy that it loses energy too quickly.
Anyway Beacon, do as Doom suggested (please), take the double barrel shotgun, fiddle around with it a bit and just call it Holland & Holland .577. Since Holland & Holland are some of the more wellknown manufacturers of big game rifles.
