Anyway Beacon, do as Doom suggested (please), take the double barrel shotgun, fiddle around with it a bit and just call it Holland & Holland .577. Since Holland & Holland are some of the more wellknown manufacturers of big game rifles.
Quite literally, you can take one of the default full-length break-action shotgun, add a fancier texture and altered wood-grain to make it look different, and call it a rifle. Above is a side-by-side .577 and you might not even know unless someone told you. The irony here is, the same thing could be achieved by just using shotgun slugs in game, except I assume the rifles we've been talking about have much, much higher velocities.

You don't even have to make it that fancy to begin with. Maybe some different wood textures and a different pattern on the plate around the break action part.
.577 Nitro express has a muzzle velocity of 2050 feet per second, or 625 meters per second.
Average 00 12 gauge, or buckshot, has a muzzle velocity of about half that.
I doubt slugs have anything near the same velocity as .577 Nitro.
I have been proven wrong before, though.
broken link mate.
I blame my keyboard.
Anyway, fixed.
So did anything happen regarding Redux and moddb?
In all reality the zone would probably have it's own equivalent to the Khyber Pass with tons of locally produced AK's, shotguns, and so on to probably make the market suitable for hunting mutants and getting all the roubles out of zone stalkers.

But is it chambered in .577 Nitro?

That is true. But, It wouldn't be hard to imagine big game hunters come to the zone for the ultimate hunting experience.
Besides, hunting mutants in the zone with .577 would mean ingame, that the dude that does it is rather serious/passionate about it.
And gameplay wise it would be cool as heck to stalk Chimeras with a .577 Nitro rifle :v:
All I want in my life is Gunslinger and Redux 2.0. I'd have no life for many months.
But is it chambered in .577 Nitro?
It's 4 gauge [sp]26.5mm[/sp] hunting rifle.
apparently there's a russian merge of STCoP weapons pack and SGM 2.2.
Is there any way to take the english translation of 2.2 and put it over that merge?

I was reading about this, looking for some SGM 2.2 business to go exploring in.
Apparently, you -can- just drop the translations right over it, but you'll wind up with weapons that display their strings as names, and have blank descriptions. It should work otherwise.
OGSE 0693 delayed to jan 14

Has there been a STALKER sale yet? I've only played SoC years ago and I want to pick up CoP and possibly CS.

North Korea
Russia - used in Ministry of Internal Affairs and Border Guard Service
Soviet Union
Uzbekistan - customer service(???)
Currently at 50% off. There hasn't been a daily / flash sale yet.
I couldn't hold off anymore and bought Call of Pripyat at 50% off
No regret

Good to know. It's going to be hard to stay strong and be patient though.
I thought I'd read somewhere that it's better to have retail copies than Steam versions of the games, is that true? Something about them being slightly different?

The retail copies allow you to upgrade or downgrade to specific versions for mods that only run on them. Steam's version is pre-patched to the latest, 1.6 I think.
[editline]28th December 2014[/editline]
Which, as far as I know, will run the vast majority of the popular mods. But there are some that people still play that require an earlier version.
welp, it's now no longer the 27th anywhere in the world and there's still no MOTY results
why am I not surprised
I really gotta buy ShoC and CS on steam at last. I have some polish retail versions of those two.
still no MOTY Upcoming results
getting silly now ModDB
[editline]28th December 2014[/editline]
Ok well the results are out now, but they only did the Top 5 this year, and Redux didn't make it :(

Vanilla+ Update(s):
(Pay close attention to the down-left corner); Vanilla+, as of now, runs on engine build 1.0008b + the latest LuaJIT and ZRP 1.07 Addons edition, merged by me (it was hell). Its extremely stable. Feels like new
[t]http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/26/25752/XR_3DA_2014-12-28_18-26-28-20.png[/t]

I'd love to get into X-Ray tinkering again, now that I have my desktop back. Volunteering!
I dont think I can do another mod of CoP unless its truly freeplay
CoP has the least interesting story and the first area is boring as shit
Also, I'll need testers soon. Any volunteers?
Volunteering for breaking ya mod if you don't mind :v:. Never 've done this before, would be glad to participate.

It's stable. I just want to get some feedback on the overall "feel" of the game. I'll upload it very, very soon.
