Alright friends this winter I finally want to ease myself into loving this game like I did with Dark Souls, I know it's possible. How do I do this? Do I just play CoP? I tried vanilla SoC a few years back and it was crazy hard and the shooting seemed clunky and I was really put off by how glitchy and unpolished it all was.

Patch the game to 1.0006, get [URL="http://www.metacognix.com/files/stlkrsoc/"]the latest ZRP version[/URL] and throw [URL="http://www.moddb.com/mods/photo-realistic-zone-2"]some fancy texture mod[/URL] on top (this is already 10 times better than complete).

Its the way the game is meant to be played Bullets are punishing to both you and the enemy, but its nowhere near impossible

I know you're not supposed to use mods for the first playthrough (which I'm doing) but would something like AtmosFear be okay? And would I have to start a new game?
So in the misery game files where might I find the texture for that awful ghillie suit overlay?

If I wanted blur, i'd take off my glasses. I don't mind motion blur, but the other sorts can bugger off, especially the sort that occurs during reloading.
A mod should make the AI heed radiation and anomaly hazards better. The AI currently doesnt seem to give a shit about anomalies or radioactive areas.

The one that came standard with Freeplay Start just herded them into anomalies regardless; prolly because Xiani, for reasons unknown, decided to add near-0 radius anomalies that are almost harmless to the player, but instakill the AI. Particularly true of whirligigs.

With .dll's that re-enable them, like the FOV cvar and such. IIRC OGSE has them. But they're for 1.0006 only and I find them to be pretty unstable.

Namely snipers, explosives, and throwables. 2. Bring the part I up to speed with Par II I will be adding some addional animations to the shotguns and pistols. 3. Polish Need to work out any bugs. The bug with the fort pistol and its problem with the 545 shell texture will be fixed. Just as an example.. As for work in the Lost Alpha Project....
