A progress bar going towards normal search and you're free to look further but you won't always find anything.

Mine, but I can't find it :(

Any possibility of a short gameplay vid of the current redux 2.0 in action?
It'd be a bit difficult, but I could imagine one of those HUD windows with options to search like this:
Corpse inventory
- check waist pouches
- check artifact containers
- check backpack
- check holster
- check pockets
And they would open individual inventories or so where would be differing items. For example, artifact containers MIGHT hold artifacts, backpack probably has food and other survival items and maybe a spare gun, holster might have a pistol, pockets could have a PDA or personal items, waist pouches would probably hold ammunition and so on. This would make looting in the midst of combat a serious thread since you'd actually have to take your time in looting it.
The image I have in my head is having an interface similar to SGM's 21 game. It has that HUD window with buttons to click and it does different functions or opens another window for you.
The issue here is that it's probably wizard level to program and no offense Thorny dear, but I don't think you guys could spare the time to figure out how to hell to do that or if it is even possible without russians under the influence of several bottles of vodka.
It would also be boring as hell to check all corpses for loot after a firefight.

On the other hand you would know exactly what to look for and if you didn't want anything but just ammo, you could go just check the waist pouches and be done with it. Also immersion.
Oh and uh, another redux question: will there be moving anomalies like in the book and film?

we'll have dynamically placed anomalies that move after a blowout
we'll have dynamically placed anomalies that move after a blowout
Oh neat.
Wasn't really thinking of fast moving anomalies green, but that's on me thanks to bad wording.
You guys adding any of those high intensity anomalies btw? Would be cool to see a chopper get dragged down into the ground by one.

?
Mosquito manges or what they were called in the book, stalkers threw bolts to check for them and if the bolt darted downwards suddenly you'd knew it it a gravity anomaly.
[editline]5th July 2013[/editline]
Oh wow somehow mananaged to miss writing gravity there. Whoops.
That is in every vanilla STALKER. But I have not seen/heard any that could drag down a chopper like you said.
So, the Soup has determined I'm not worthy of it's majesty any more. I loaded an earlier save and the sarcophagus still crashed the game. So instead I decided I'll just backtrack, but nope, when I go back to Radar I freeze about three seconds into it.
Yeah those are Vortexes or Whirligigs in Stalker, they're in all the games but not much in CoP. We'll be adding more.
while on the topic of whirlgigs
you know what needs to be done thorny
That is in every vanilla STALKER. A spot within the Zone which exhibits extremely strong gravity, capable of crushing a person into a pancake or even pulling overhead helicopters violently to the ground. Stalkers search for mosquito manges by throwing small iron bolts ahead of them. If the bolt shoots into the ground at unnaturally high speed, the spot is avoided.
Kinda different from vortexes and whirligigs.

A minor thing if you feel like adding another lore friendly anomaly.

Vortex is called Mosquito in the files.

Not really... There aren't even helicopers to pull down in STALKER.
not many but there are helicopters
Any setpieces involving helicopters coming anywhere close to the ground would look incredibly awkward though, considering how they clip through buildings and leave no wreckage after getting destroyed and what not. A chopper getting ripped from the air into an incredibly strong gravitational / magnetic anomaly and being torn into hunks of twisted metal would look really great in a setpiece for a game with Metro 2033 type work and detail sunk into it but as it stands it would just end up looking really clunky instead of spectacular.
Oh I can imagine.
Still, one way to do it could be for the event to happen only once when you enter a new area, with the crater having a static destroyed helicopter and the real helicopter just dissapearing into the ground in that spot with some fancy explosion effect and some rising smoke.
A controller gave birth to the sun

Then the game crashed

yeah that's what they did with Kruglov's helicopter and Wolfhound in Wild Territory.
leading to the delightful moment in AMK where an emission broke everything and the skyborne chopper hovered constantly above its very wreckage.
Needless to say, this broke the quest.
AMK and Kruglov are not on good terms.
i love kruglov <3
