So I unlocked the MG3 in Peace Walker, holy god is that thing underwhelming as all hell.
It's my favourite MG. I expect MGs to fire fast, not dick slow, like the M60 or the RPK.
just beat mgs2
everything was normal and then suddenly raiden is naked and nothing fucking makes sense
it seriously went from 0 to what the fuck is happening in record time
also probably my least favorite of the three i've played (first three). there were way too many timed segments and it felt like there was a minimal amount of actual sneaking in comparison to the other two. also fuck defusing those bombs
still good though
Do you feel post-modern yet?
Also, what's the preferred explosive in Peace Walker? I have the RPG-2, the LAW Rank 3, RPG7 and the Gustav.
I usually just use the Gustav since it's projectile speed makes it near-hitscan (Very little lead needed on vehicles) and it has the highest damage out of all the launchers IIRC
But on the other hand it's got the lowest ammo count and longest reload time, and RPG-7's always look so badass.
I do enjoy the fact that Big Boss is strong enough to hold up the cocoon by himself.
so like, how good is peace walker in comparison to the main games? i hear a lot of talk about it but i've never actually gotten a chance to play it, and i've seen like maybe 2 minutes of gameplay
It's very different, but in a good way, you get to see a lot more of the back-end of the missions you would never really see, such as sending units out. Also, there are a ton of different missions that you're encouraged to replay constantly, with new weapons and such. The story itself is really interesting too, a direct sequel to MGS3.
Only thing I don't like about Peace Walker is the absence of really memorable battles against other human enemies. It was all pretty much vehicle and mech fights, which was a letdown.
Just CQC the metal gears like the boss would.
she just takes out a load bearing screw and it falls apart

that sounds shitty
i hate mech/vehicle combat, people killing entertains me exponentially more

i remember the first robot thing you fight sort of
all i did was stand in a corner giving myself ammo drops.
And ruin your Heroism rating?

I'd be more okay with the vehicle battles if they didn't take so god damn long.

And if there weren't so many of the damn things. Gimme more interesting Extra Ops, Kojima!

You enjoy all the killing don't you?
And even if you have everything for stealth-approached vehicle hijacking, it's still boring as there are so much of these missions :(

i've been going through the vehicle battles pretty fast by just using stealth camo, and taking out all of the reinforcements until the captain comes out.
...Yeah, I have no problem with the vehicle missions as they're clearly designed for you to acquire the vehicle, not destroy it.
just started playing mgs1, first time playing it unless you count twin snakes which i beat when i was like 9
holy shit its so hard, like, artificially hard. if i sneak up on someone to choke them, and i bump them or if they notice me like a millisecond before i choke them out it goes into alert mode and thats frustrating as fuck
is good tho

That never happens for me. I kill all the reinforcements, disable fuel tanks, wait forever but I'm stuck having to destroy it.

You have to damage it a bit before the captain will come out.
Which, you know, is really stupid but whatever.
It's not even that much??? The captain always comes out at like 75% health... which takes like the destruction of the fuel tanks, then maybe one magazine of the PKM.

The captain will only come out after you've dealt with the soldiers only if you weren't spotted in the process.
That's absolutely not true.
That's been my experience. If you trigger an alert in a vehicle battle, then the only way to get the captain to pop out is to severely damage the vehicle till he pops out to fight you. If you manage to eliminate all the escorts and reinforcements without triggering an alert, then the captain will pop out after you've killed or fultoned the last escort.
I swear I've gotten the captains to pop out once or twice without damaging the vehicle at all via stealthing without being spotted, but I'm not 100% sure since most of the other times I tried stealth completion I've been spotted.

Doesn't really work. I always have to destroy them.
