Metal Gear Solid - Tactical Megathread Action VII. Could Plisken actually be Snake?

Wasn't Drebin a child soldier? Maybe we'll get a cameo of some sort.
Kojima likes MGR anyway so.
Well MGR and MGS2 share the theme of mimetic destiny; MGR, MGS1, and MGS2 share the theme of "you enjoy all the killing, that's why!"; so you're pretty wrong mate.
MGR's main theme was revenge as stated by Kojima.
If you played it, its a bit of both.
The whole point of the text is to illustrate the fact Big Boss and Miller are dropping everything they've ever upheld or believed in just to pursue Cypher with vengeance. They are willingly losing what made them truly great heroes.
It's not supposed to specifically link back to a few games I'd say it address the series as a whole.
the first level but it was so bad i literally could not stand to go any further

i was playing the rerelease. i just hated the feeling of the game.
Hahaha what the fuck?
I'm getting kinda worried about what shit's going to really go down in this game. I understand that this is all virtual mens we get to kill but if we are going to be killing child soldiers I dunno if I could really stomach that.
Call me a wimp but I'm pretty easily bothered by things of that sort.
I don't care about killing the child soldiers but they better have proper afro physics or this game is a travesty

I misread that as afro psychics, and man that's a good idea.

Where are you getting all of this? Your imagination?

That's pretty much what speculation is. Can't do much else with the info we have.

By watching the trailer and using logic? The focus is blatantly on BB trying to take down Cypher. Why else would they be shoving FOX vs XOF in our faces and constantly showing how BB is getting fucked up and going further and further into 'hell'?
The theme is race and revegeance or "something beyond vengeance" as kojima puts it. The fact miller even says they are rebuilding the army JUST to get Cypher ought to be the biggest indicator.

That's all fine and dandy but each of the Metal Gears have multiple themes that they share did you even play the games
MGS1:
"You enjoy all the killing that's why you keep coming back to the battlefield!"
Genetic destiny
Mimetic destiny
The diminishing role of the soldier in the 21st century
How expendable a soldier is no matter how great
"Can love bloom on the battlefield?"
Names ("Stupid woman, falling love with a man who doesn't even have a name!")
Tons I'm missing
MGS2:
"You just want to be Solid Snake AND you enjoy all the killing!"
Mimetic destiny
The diminishing role of a soldier in the 21st century
Names (Jack, Raiden)
The increasing prevalence of virtual reality (video games)
etc.
I think one of the themes of Ground Zeroes will be "Loss" or "Lose"

I said in the post that came after that I think it's addressing the series as a whole.

If you don't think you can kill children, play Little Lamplight in Fallout 3. You'll be ditching stealth and playing it like halo

I wasn't debunking your theories, just asking.

You couldn't kill the kids in vanilla F3.

But you wish you could slaughter them all
soooo for the record
Eli = Almost certainly Liquid Snake until proved otherwise
Kid in the cage = Almost certainly Solid?
The song playing during that sequence is called "Sins of the Father." Eli seems like a pretty obvious Liquid Snake, so Solid Snake would be out there too. Since we know Solid looks more like BB than Liquid, BB probably loathes the little kid. Sees himself in it. And given BB's attitude in V, I bet he hates himself and punishes the cloned version of himself.

They were annoying and badly written/acted but nothing made me WANT to kill them. They were a radically unrealistic portrayal of how child soldiers actually are. Can't even call them child soldiers really, they weren't brought up or treated the same way real ones are.

The kid in the cage is Chico, they specifically said Chico during the GZ gameplay demo we've already been over this.
Why would you even think the kid in the cage is David? He looks identical to Chico.
I'm a bit mixed up with my lore clearly.
Shouldn't Chico be an adult by the time Snake has the robotic arm?

Yeah.
Thats 9-10 years after GZ.
-fucking timelines-
he's 12 in peace walker, and he looks to be about 15/16 in the trailer.
yeah fuck you guys
Chico is 12 in 1974.
Big Boss wakes up in 1984.
Nice fucking try. Chico would at least be 17 if Big Boss is awake to see him.

The scene where we see Chico is 9 years before BB gets robo arm.
that kid in the cage is way too small to be 17
that kid in the cage is way too small to be 17
Ground Zeroes is right after Peace Walker and Phantom Pain is 9 years after Boss's coma.
