Metal Gear Solid - Tactical Megathread Action VII. Could Plisken actually be Snake? - Games

Goddamn it you guys stop shitting so much on Elowin just because he doesn't like the story. I mean what I got from MGS2 was basically how vidya trained kiddies to want to be killers (this ties in with the whole "u play as de player" and raiden growing up on VR missions), and that was from my first playthrough. I also realised how Kojima wanted to troll the player by playing again and reading up on it a bit. It's a nice experiment, but I still don't like the story even if it's ~deep~. Rose is a fucking bullshit character (this is objectively undeniable btw) and I don't understand why she had to be a part of that. Raiden may or may not be the player but he is still uncontrollably whiny and kind of a hassle sometimes. tl;dr: Elowin maybe dislikes the story for the wrong reason but honestly that's ok because MGS2 story doesn't really have shit on the other MGS's. The themes of MGS2 aren't truly as deep as the rest of them, in my honest opinion.

MGS 4 holds a special place in my heart because it's the first one I played. Not knowing what the fuck was going on I played other ones in order and looking back on it, it has it's really dumb moments but I still like the story.

MGS 4 is fucking stupid. I love it.

Actually Raidens' stuff is explained and its not that stupid. At least not as stupid as Vamp.

Ok, one time too many. Vamps healing factor was explained with nanomachines, nothing else.

His actual personality was irritating but at least he stood for something. In MGS4 he was a massive deus ex machina who didn't need to be there at all. They could have very easily kept the story exactly the same except for a few minor changes. Practically felt shoehorned in. Not only that but the whole "I'm a badass and better than snake now" felt so awfully forced.

So much of Fox is going to get retconned it's literally impossible to tell what they will do with him at this point.

Didn't Raiden's eye colour change as well? Also, lighting seems to heavily affect a lot of things in the game so it could potentially be that. Not to mention what exactly would Frank achieve by masquerading as Boss?
