Has there been any word if NES games are in New Leaf? I'm assuming they're not because of the virtual console in the eShop.

No word on them being added, not even in preview videos or anything like that, so I doubt it for the reason you listed.

Unfortunately nintendo realized people will actually pay money for those. There are some video game consoles/arcade cabinets as furniture though! It would be cool if they had some sort of minigame or function attached to them.
NES games in new leaf would be amazing. You could probably have some fun trading them aswell.

I think one of the treehouse videos said that he plays the guitar on Saturdays and is a DJ the rest of the week.

this might be something someone made up, but i saw an anecdote from one of the devs that basically said "we removed the nes games you could find because people spent more time playing those than the actual game"

This is very true. My mom used to play my GC animal crossing save just so she could play the donkey kong minigame.

So far, I've got to say that I like New Leaf's music more than Wild World and City Folk's, but not as much as Population Growing.

Don't forget, you can also customize it now.
I think I remember seeing a plasma screen TV in one screenshot which is awesome.
I am still hoping for a Slurpee machine or the 7/11 promo items to be released.
