Alright I think I just discovered none other than Totaka's song, if you leave the DS on the "What would you like to do?" save screen (possibly whilst being outside your house as mayor) for a certain amount of time (found it accidentally, so unsure) it plays it.

Yes you can have up to 3 people over at a time. If you head to the train station you should be able to figure it out. Also, not at all, it is a great game!

Talk to Mabel, he'll tell you about designs. Choose Pro-design and you can have full design freedom. Otherwise the basic designs only repeat patterns.
