Nope!
Put it in a plastic bag and bounce it up and down for 15 minutes or so, I use that reversible pouch from Club Nintendo but in this case they'll be the same thing.
You can get a maximum of 10 coins per day, and you can hold a max of 500 at any time.
Just so you know, days are from 6:00am - 6:00am as opposed to 12:00am - 12:00am. Found this out because I went to do my daily jobs at 5:00am and then at 6:00am Isabelle made an announcement and everything was reset.
