It's the newsboy cap, and yes it's pretty much a flat cap.

Apparently if you sit under your town tree it lists off your town history. Although it seems you cant sit under the tree until it grows substantially.

Tip for working at the cafe, if a villager asks for a certain amount of sugar or milk, they want the same amount of sugar and milk. Ex: If a villager wants 1 spoonful of sugar, they also want a little bit of milk, if they want no milk they want no sugar, etc.

Can somebody with the reset center please let me know if patterns can be placed in the same space as the manhole cover. Like can you put a path pattern on the ground its on, cause I think I recall seeing someone do that in another town but I'm not entirely sure.

Maybe because that's how the game works? Having things happen over time is a major game mechanic in Animal Crossing, it's one of the things that keeps people coming back to it.
