I've had items I've ordered come to my house after a few hours.
Yeah, they deliver at one of 2 set times though. 9 am and 5 pm and I've passed those. Besides, it's 11 pm over here now. Don't know when I'll be available though, I've got some work to do at 9.30 and I don't know how long it'll take.
That's not true, I can order the cardboard box through T&T if I want to.
Ah, then strike that part. I got a cardboard box and told a friend and he wouldn't shut up about how it's almost one of a kind holy-shit kinds of rare so never bothered to check. I do know the re-tail and villagers giving it to you part being true though (Least I'm 90% sure)
Pretty sure it's intentional and supposed to be ominous shading. All of my friends kind of agree on that You realize that's a huge ripoff right? I mean, it's fucking animal crossing and all but the box is one of the rarest items that isn't DLC. Edit: Whoops! Misread that he was giving it away (and somehow missed it had already happened) I'm a bad person!
The cardboard box is rare? I've received two from villagers.
Woot got the golden watering can!
The cardboard box is rare? I've received two from villagers.
The cardboard box itself is common, and can be ordered. The cardboard box series (e.g. the cardboard bed, cardboard sofa) can't be cataloged, and I assume you can't get them from Nooks.
Yay. A friend of mine switched my SD card with his, now I gotta redownload Animal Crossing. :I Wait, does that mean I will have to restart my game? I put 43 hours into my savefile. Ugh. Yup. Had to restart. Oh well.
I have a Red Pikmin and a Majora's Mask that I'm willing to trade or give out. Also, if anyone has a Metroid, I'm willing to trade for bells or for either (or both) of the items mentioned above.
I hate when sharks bite on the first nibble, I always react too slow. But after the first nibble I can usually get them.
Can someone open their gates so I can collect signatures?
I'm on the island, and there's a golden stag on a tree, with a finned shadow in the water right next to it. If I catch the bug, the fish scares off, if I throw the lure at the fish, the bug flies away. They're both the first of each to spawn in almost an hour. Great. Thanks game. [editline]t[/editline] It really feels like the spawn rate on the wharf roaches is too high. Instead of beetles I'm seeing like four or five of the stupid things at a time.
I just failed to catch three golden stags in a row :suicide:
Can I visit some of you to sell my peaches? FC: 4570 - 7642 - 4096
No matter how nice you are to your villagers, they keep asking to move. It kind of hurts my feelings, man.
Turns out the fastest way to get a villager to leave is to become good friends with them. When you're about 35% towards getting their photo they'll say they're moving. Normally this happening randomly would take about 2.5 to 4 weeks, whereas becoming fast friends can make them want to go in under 2. Just humor them until they want to go, and don't stop them. Being cruel to a villager does next to nothing in terms of scaring them away. It actually makes the process take longer.

I guess it works if you harm them indirectly.

If they're close enough together (or rare enough species) it sure does. A fishing lure dropping into the water within 5 tiles of a Golden Stag will scare it away, and swinging a net within 3 tiles of a Shark will do the same.

I do way too much science to try and maximize profit on the island. I don't want to have to take several trips a day, so I need to get as much as possible from just one. Probably wasted ~700k worth of rare creatures just testing what exactly it takes to scare specific things away, so I can organize things and plan circuits accordingly. [editline]t[/editline] Well this page looks boring. Take it away, KK [t]http://24.media.tumblr.com/2edd59655f5549d9510fdca19f776919/tumblr_mpedwsqA4U1qmtfo5o2_400.gif[/t] [t]http://25.media.tumblr.com/8a42cd0b3f25bfc23c843fbbb41b9691/tumblr_mpedwsqA4U1qmtfo5o1_400.gif[/t] [t]http://24.media.tumblr.com/a20119ac8c7650812a96d8441d89c4ef/tumblr_mpedwsqA4U1qmtfo5o3_400.gif[/t] [sup][sup]Not mine obviously.[/sup][/sup]
Could you perhaps share some useful tips then? I hate the island so much since all I do is grind for exotic wildlife and medals, the less time I'm there, the better.
I personally didn't notice this, but you can partially push the control stick while sneaking to go ludicrously slowly and can creep up on easily scared bugs like golden stags much much easier. Makes things much less infuriating.
Could you perhaps share some useful tips then? I hate the island so much since all I do is grind for exotic wildlife and medals, the less time I'm there, the better.
> Venture to the island after 7PM to reduce the total number of possible non-exotic beetle spawns > Leave only two non-palm trees. This reduces the number of non-exotic beetle spawns dramatically. > Destroy all flowers on the island. There are no butterflies that come close to exotic beetle value. > Destroy any palm trees on the north edge of the island, so they don't obscure your view when fishing. > Turn on 3D to maximum. This adds a bit of extra peripheral vision on both sides of the screen so you can see bugs more quickly. > Turn your volume all the way up when fishing, and close your eyes. Only react when you hear the louder sound. > Always walk, never run. Move very slowly when there are palm trees nearby. > Add more palm trees to the south edge of the island. More spawns occur to your south than any other direction. > To maximize spawns, move in a figure eight pattern around the island, walking south on the edges, turning north through the middle, and going to the other side to do the same. > Use your net to scare away petty bugs (tiger beetles, wharf roaches) and petty fish (anything without a fin). This will clear up space for another, possibly better spawn. > If you see a bug that isn't a golden stag or horned hercules on a tree, don't swing just yet. Move a little further on to make sure something more valuable isn't nearby. When you swing, nearby bugs flee. Focus ONLY on: Horned Elephant (yellow oval, palm trees) = 8000 Horned Atlas (black with spikes, palm trees) = 8000 Cyclommatus Stag (large pincers, palm trees) = 8000 Rainbow Stag (looks brown and green, normal trees) = 10,000 Giant Stag (looks big and blue/purple tinted, normal trees) = 10,000 Horned Hercules (yellow with large black horn, palm trees) = 12,000 Golden Stag (simple-looking brownish yellow beetle, palm trees) = 12,000 And any fish with a fin past 7PM will always be worth your time. ... That enough tips?
You can also just take breaks from sneaking towards insects. Sneak a little, stop, sneak a little, stop, and so on. I find it a little easier than moving as slow as possible.
So funny story. Remember how the other day I went ahead and had Jacques move in. My mom had told me to get him and I'd figure why not humor her because all of my villagers that camp out in the tent are shit and just whatever so filled my village up. Today the 3DS updated for mii plaza stuff and I wanted coins and messed with my system clock not realizing it would fuck with my village. Stopped soon as I realized that. Loaded into my village and phew no one's moved (it was only a day but still) but I noticed someone new is camping in the tent. Let me guess it's a hi- I'm going to fucking kill myself [editline]12th July 2013[/editline] Seriously I'm genuinely upset why didn't I wait one more day why didN'T I WAIT FUCK

(but seriously, I really wish I had Bob.)
Anyone willing to give/sell me a real painting so that I can FINALLY have the projects from the Museum?
My whole town dream was to fill it with awesome cats and another species 50/50 just be a crazy ol cat guy and Bob was kind of my "haha man wouldn't that be cool?" villager. It's genuinely devastating having him show up right after I blew my literal only chance. Like it's literally taking everything from me to not time travel to kill someone off and savescum for another chance. Punchy will forever be better then Bob, but having both would of been amazing.
