So guys, I'm thinking about giving my town the feel of a small city, placing roads/streetlights/signs/etc.

However, I have a couple questions;
1. How many streetlights/signs/public works can I squeeze into my town? I know that there is a limit of 3 bridges, is there similar limits to other lines of public works?
2. How much space do villagers/people need to place their houses? I ask because I want to make sure that my roads and public works are spaced to avoid people moving in the middle of the paths I am making.
3. Can I place public works or tiles in my town lobby thing (where the event tree resides)? I don't want to plan out my town to realize I can't build anything within the event plaza.

You can place up to 30 (destructible) projects in a town. Doing so without natural balance will make villagers thinks it's overdeveloped and will hurt your town's rating, so be wary of deforestation.

A house is 3x3, and needs an extra space on all sides (two on north and south side). This means that the space a villager needs to actually move in is 5x7

And no, you can't build anything on or even within two spaces of the event plaza, or any other paved areas. Pattern tiles can, however, be placed anywhere that isn't directly in front of a doorway.

Did a bit of testing last night

If you start at 7 P.M., you can get 4 total runs on the island and net yourself 1.7~2.3m bells (Depending on if you have bell bloom)

1. I'm pretty sure there's no limit to the number of street lights you can have, but there is a limit to the total number of projects you can have. I [i]think[/i] the limit is 30.
2. I think Villagers only need a 5x5 area to move in. Their houses are 3x3, and I think they need room on all sides like public works do.
3. You can place tiles in the event plaza, but not public works.
