I wish the 3ds didn't have to save Wi-Fi connections in the slots. I'd like to take my ds somewhere with Wi-Fi and directly connect to it.
As far as I understand this is actually due to the 3DS having some sort of low-overhead network card that saves power and CPU cycles by only seeking a limited number of addresses, instead of the "any and all" policy computers and phones and stuff have. It's basically a newer version of the one the DS had (that was also limited to slots), mostly due to compatibility concerns related to internet features of DS games running on the new system. Has to be similar hardware to pass the NWFC OfficialDevice check (used to keep knock-off DS systems off their servers).
There's also the fact that Nintendo seem to be absolutely useless at network related stuff. :v:
Downloaded the new app and started it up. Was greeted by Julian running top speed at my Mii. I would take a picture if I could but seriously.
What app?
What app?
The WiiU app.
The app that would make infinitely more sense on the same system the game is for. :| Then again, Nintendo's already missing out on a huge opportunity, what with not having MiiVerse on 3DS.
The app that would make infinitely more sense on the same system the game is for. :|
Maybe the WiiU app means that animal crossing Wii U will be made sooner rather than later Though i'd much rather just have miiverse and nintendo network ID implemented on the 3DS. Sick of friend codes.
I thought Nintendo realized that people had no interest in a console Animal Crossing after they made a handheld one. City Folk didn't sell hugely well compared to Wild World. I remember reading somewhere, one of the developers saying something along the lines of "It turns out that the series is far better suited for a portable system" in response to City Folk not meeting sales expectations. I can't say I disagree, the game feels like just the sort of thing handhelds are good at (pop open, play for 15 minutes, put away, repeat sometime later)

My main room is completely empty cause I feel really anxious about what style/layout I should have. It's full size but yeah. I'd love to build a set of items to fit a style but not sure how to go about it. I'm really bad at layouts
Planted all the trees I had been collecting from the shop near the train tracks by the fence, they all wilted and died. :( How much space do you need for them to be able to grow? I put them by the fence because it's a pain to check behind trees for fossils and stuff.
i'm 90% sure they need a full block of space around them. Like GGG GTG GGG G = grass T = tree

Y'know, thinking about it... Mechanically the series can't go much higher than it has. Where does the player go from being mayor? Going back to just some townie would seem like a huge step back, and there's not much more room to go up on that ladder. Removing key features isn't something that happens often in this series, let alone half the game. The most I think any future installments can be is just New Leaf but with side improvements and more content, when you boil them down. And don't even get me started on things like art direction, because as of right now I think it's safe to say fans will throw a fit if the new character proportions aren't kept. The old chibi style looks... Well, it looked better when it was the only option, I'll say that much and leave it there. I'd rather they just port New Leaf to WiiU with dramatically updated visuals, let you sync town data between versions, and provide years and years of new features and content via seasonal patches for both to keep fans happy. That would be perfect.

I'm a butt. The new one's good, too, and it works well considering this is the Animal Crossing thread.

Agent S moved into my town. Woo more cool villagers.
Agent S moved into my town. Woo more cool villagers.
I got Kidd Cat in my town, always wanted Agent S as well so they can be an awesome superhero duo :v:
Does that changing your SSID thing still work? Really want a slushie machine
Can't you get one regularly? Think I sold mine or something.
Does that changing your SSID thing still work? Really want a slushie machine
Speaking of Slushie Machines, yours came in this morning. PM me when you want it. EDIT: Gates are open Oicani, just come by when you can and pick up your slushie machine
Does anyone happen to have the 7/11 set that they could duplicate with me? I am looking to give my basement the store look.
Does Pascall only come at certain times or what? I caught my first-ever scallop at 12:40am a few minutes ago, in the ocean near my town and he didn't show up..
I think it's a random chance whether he shows up or not. I only ever got two scallops and saw Pascal once because I can't be bothered to torture myself more with the diving mechanics. Everything good just swims out of the barriers.
Whoop. I'm gonna meet the cool girl I've been posting screenshots of next year or something. :v::dance:
How does one feel motivated at creating patterns, been trying to make my own but they seem to have size discrepancies, also how would shading be..cartoony? dark? maybe using other clothing as reference for what colors are real in AC? Felt a little bad today, because the day before i built the Museum but accidentally rejected the opening ceremony, this time i accepted the ceremony about the campsite but then Isabelle mentioned that she already got everything ready.... ..She seems pretty devoted, which had the implication that she also prepared for the Museum's 2nd floor opening too..
