Okay, so one time Reese gave me around ~200,000 bells for an assorted inventory of stuff. I have no idea what I sold her. Shirts were the item of the day, so it couldn't be that. I also sold some fruit, furniture, and fossils. I'm guessing it was the fossils that put me over the top, but I'm not sure.

Same with Mott. He's a scholarly looking Lion, but he's a jock for some reason.

I haven't played this in over a month... I feel bad. I miss my little buddies. I'll have to charge my 3DS and get back at it.

He said he was going to move out but then I accidentally spoke to him and he decided to stay. Snake moved in yesterday. I want a new species! Lazy are my favourite, <3 Rodeo

I just bought New Leaf. It was nice and everything. But I still found Wild World to be more, I don't know, engaging personally? For example, Blathers will give personalize comment on every donations we gave, the title menu will start you up as 'moving into town' rather than 'make a new save file', you get to move in as 'one of the villager' instead of 'the centre of attention/mayor/hero', the 4 characters will share a house and we can see them sleeping. It feels more 'humanized'. And the sound effects had more 'kicks' to it But it's still a great game otherwise

Blathers doesn't give specific comments on each donation because, according to him, he often got a bit off topic and talked too much. Like there's a pig called Kevin (Kevin Bacon) for example, many of the Koalas are named after Australian cities, Elmer's name is a reference to the Elmer's glue company (because glue used to be made of horses, even though Elmer never used Horses for their glue) and loads of others.

Regardless, Pierce seems to be the most obscure reference, with most other people I've asked having no idea. The fact it's such uncommon knowledge is why he was chosen over all others.
