I haven't played in so long that I let my sister borrow my game and make a new village, but she's gotten bored of it as well. I figure I may as well take a crack at making a new village myself, but I have a ton of streetpass homes in the queue on my 3DS. If I start a new village will they appear there or will they just get flushed out of the queue?

Streetpass data is kept separate from game data, so your showcase should stay the same if you make a new town.

Keep trying with Francine, it's only a matter of time until she'll say yes. That's what I had to do with most of my campers this past month. I think it might have something to do with what time of the day it is, you need to give them enough time to "check out the town" even though they never leave the tent. I've never had a camper say yes in the morning, and they always say yes in the evening.

So I got bored of this game a while ago, and now I only check in to see if my favorite villagers are still in my town or not. (Antonio never left, what a fucking bro, bro)

That's pretty cool, I only got to do it for a little bit because It was the evening and I had an unlucky day so I kept tripping over, and I found out like an hour before I had to go out

and that is a very rude thing to say, gyroids are just as good as you. just because they look a little different doesn't mean you can't say mean things to them.
