There is literally no reason why it should take ten days to unlock the QR Code reader. I can wait a day for my house to upgrade. I'm not going to wait over a week to unlock a QR Code reader.
Eh. I get both sides of the argument, especially since a lot of games nowadays are a bit more fast-paced than Animal Crossing is. At the same time, I only play for an hour or so a day, so it doesn't feel like waiting forever to me. That being said, if I'm awake and wanting to play in the wee hours of the morning, I'll skip ahead a few hours to play during the in-game day and then wait till that time in the morning to log back on after resetting my clock. Much more enjoyable that way, in my opinion.

I still want to know why it matters.
Unless you're a time skipping scumlord it won't do anything for you. Like at all. The first week is filled with so much change that making floor plans would be pointless, and you won't have enough for any city projects unless you unlock the island and grind out mad bells. It makes you wait because the game knows that. The only reason you'd want it unlocked RIGHT THEN AND THERE is to dress up in a dumb anime outfit no one cares about.

I want to know why you care so much.
They're not forcing to to change your clock and ruin it for yourself. So why do you care what they do, why is it getting you so angry, and why in the hell did you think it would be any different from the last three games in terms of people time traveling? This isn't the first animal crossing game this has happened in and as far as i see it wont be the last.

I'm honestly just disappointed I guess? Maybe because people are destroying the point of the game, to the point of "why even bother playing it". It's supposed to be a life sim, not like harvest moon, not like anything really. There is no goal, there is no end game. Nothing. People who don't seem to understand it time travel and then bitch that the game is boring and it's frustrating to see. The closest I can think of is watching someone play Dark Souls with a trainer that gives them infinite HP and the ability to oneshot everything, or a mario game that let's you fly over every stage. Yeah the person is playing it how they want but it defeats the entire purpose of the game.

If you look at it in a structured objective based manner yes i would agree that there is no purpose, but in the same breath you could also say that the purpose of any game is to have fun (without ruining it for others those guys are dicks) Not to mention if you think about it, visiting a person who time traveled would be a great way to view somewhat of a showcase of what you have in store for you later on. They jump ahead and have an easyer time waiting because you get to play with it in someone elses town.
