Before you make your decision, you should know that one of the ordinances (I think the one called Bell Boom) allows you to sell your stuff for more money, if your reasoning for stores being open later is to have more time to sell. I don't know the exact amount that it boosts money made, but I assume it would be around 10-20%. No need to work too hard in the wee hours of the morning.

According to the wiki it increases all sell and buy prices up 20%. Does anyone know if it adds 10% to individual items or the whole sale?

EDIT: the amount of bells nooklings give is usually lower than you'd get from re-tail. from what i can tell they dont take turnips, though. (i might be wrong)
