I'm really enjoying the change of pace with the music. It seems to have more.... character, I suppose? The older games certainly had defining tracks, but the music in New Leaf feels smoother. Also, anyone have their gates open?

I agree, but I wish they had at least kept the style or some sort of variation on the original themes. The iconic (and nostalgic) original animal crossing theme is largely absent from this one. The only place you can hear it is if you request Forest Life from KK.

Not if you are trading for item values. Useless when it comes to services, but if the retail is offering to buy for 5k then that's the bell price you trade it to people unless you want to go up in price.

What's the best activity to do at nighttime when all shops are closed, and you only have a net for catching bugs, and a shovel. I'm up to a part in my town where I'm waiting for tomorrow morning for my house to be fully built. Where do I go from there? How do I easily get a fishing rod?
I've been thinking about getting the new Animal Crossing. Is it worth the money? Does it have the same feel to it as the others do?

Nighttime doesn't have much going on. Good fish and bugs come out, but aside from the island, you're kinda out of options.

Can't wait until my town hits the villager cap.
Then I can continue to just force my least favorite villagers out hoping to get new ones.
