It's a techland game, that's a big enough reason to not buy it until it's on sale for a very low price.
I happen to have greatly enjoyed Dead Island and Riptide, and Call of Juarez Gunslinger was certainly fun.
I still don't understand why people are shitting on Techland, I thoroughly enjoyed Dead Island and Riptide, they got a bit tedious at times but overall I didn't think they were shit games, hence when I've pre-ordered and pre-loaded Dying Light, what's the problem with that? Also I got it for £30.80 off www.greenmangaming.com
I refuse to buy anything on faith these days, even if the developer is proven. I'll use Payday 2 as an example, Payday 2's beta was good, it showcased that the game was fun to play and very promising... however the release was EXACTLY the same as the Beta... now you could argue that it was good that they used the beta as an actual test as opposed to a glorified demo... but it was a bit of a sting to many... However with patch after patch, a slew of both really good free and paid for content the developers earned the respect of the community once more. Then came the diamond hiest, this hiest was the FIRST update to come with a new hiester as DLC, (we had two other hiesters beforehand but both were free) they sold the Mission and Character separatly... not TOO unreasonable but this meant that both the DLCs had less content in them than any previous DLC (even when combined) and they still asked their usual seven dollars for the mission (although the character was five) However many people brought the DLC on launch in good faith that this would be as good as the previous dlc's (both paid for and free) however the Mission itself was lackluster, it was short, pokey, uninspired and all round dull. They had upped the ante with their marketing this round so we were hoping that this would be serious business but nope, it was a hiest that was worse than some of the free crap they gave us and even some of the earliest beta maps. What left a really bitter taste in most peoples mouths however is that the dlc launched and people rushed out an bought it.... then only HALF AN HOUR later it went on sale due to the Payday franchise getting a bulk xmas sale and dropped by %10. TL;DR... do not buy in good faith.
I happen to have greatly enjoyed Dead Island and Riptide, and Call of Juarez Gunslinger was certainly fun.
Oh right they made Gunslinger. Gunslinger is honestly one of the best, most intense and polished to perfection arcade shooters I've ever played. It's nearly perfect. I totally forget they made that every time I think about that game. It really is a remarkable shooter.
I only preorder games at my game store. When it's released I have a 3 day period to decide if I buy it or if I don't. Much safer than digital preorders IMO.
Obviously. Don't pre-order games, especially when they have one of the worst pre-order campaigns. They seriously gave you more pre-order exclusives the sooner you pre-ordered.
When you pre-order something, they don't have to give you a good game. They already have your money.
Total Biscuit is streaming Dying Light right now. http://www.twitch.tv/totalbiscuit
Total Biscuit is streaming Dying Light right now. http://www.twitch.tv/totalbiscuit
First time I have ever watched a twitch stream was not disappointed.
I loved all call of juarez games (excluding The Cartel of course.) and they are really fun. Plus the first 2 ones have map editors that are easy to use and fun.
Total Biscuit is streaming Dying Light right now. http://www.twitch.tv/totalbiscuit
has he stopped?
has he stopped?
About 15 minutes ago. He said he liked the game.
That was a pretty short stream then.
The concept of Dying Light sounds silly. "zombie parkour" sounds like some kind of montage parody or shitty gmod gamemode.
The concept of Dying Light sounds silly. "zombie parkour" sounds like some kind of montage parody or shitty gmod gamemode.
Where does it say " Zombie Parkour" ?
Where does it say " Zombie Parkour" ?
It doesn't, but they seem to really be pushing that style of gameplay.
why do people preorder digital games?
because they're dumb [editline]26th January 2015[/editline]
Preloading.
is a dumb excuse [editline]26th January 2015[/editline] you get the game slightly sooner but risk wasting 60$ on a game that totally blows. But it was rushed in some parts.
Honestly, maybe the lack of review copies isn't meant to be malicious. I guess they could've been weirdly specific about who they sent them to, or maybe there was a mailing order mishap. Hard to tell without official word from the company.
I've been watching a stream of this game for the past 2 hours and so far it looks pretty damn great. One of the major turn offs for me in Dead Island was the size and linearity of most of the zones you get to play in, but Dying Light seems to be way more fleshed out and open with 3 decently sized maps. The voice acting is still horrid, but the game play looks solid.
That's really odd considering Two Best Friends got a copy quite a while ago.
Maybe they're just giving copies to influencial people that can make games look fun?
I got a few hours in the game since I got an early copy to review. It's pretty damn fun, though the story is a bit lame so far. Feels like FarCry3/4 with zombies, in a city. The "Parkour" elements function, though apparently early in the game you can do basic stuff, but need to level up your character to make it better. So currently, I'd say Mirror's Edge did it better. Also killing zombies in all sorts of ways is addicting. Though right now I think it's a solid $40 puchase, though I haven't paid for AAA stuff in a long time.

Also, it's not like the people who care enough to pre-order a game know nothing about what they're purchasing.
Pro: Game is not terrible. Con: I think a patch broke the performance because it runs like shit now. https://twitter.com/Totalbiscuit/status/559902585227059200 Even TB is reporting the same.
Where does it say " Zombie Parkour" ?
It's "the floor is lava", except the lava is zombies. The game is genuinely interesting. It seems to be a combination of Dead Island and Assassin's Creed. Watch Jesse Cox's unpaid promotion/hype video to get an idea of what it's like. I still want to see more of it before I decide whether I want to buy it, though.
It's okay, the combat can be a bit wonky like dead island but i'd say the parkour mechanics are pretty well done. Performance is absolute shite at the moment, which is a shame because i like this game alot more than Dead Island.
Pretty good looking game on PS4, maybe one of the best looking games so far. Besides some of the textures lol

Night time in this game is fucking intense and awesome. Parkour actually isn't done horribly, combat is fun. If they can get a patch out or drivers come out to fix the eh performance, this will be a really good game.
