Running fine for me on GTX 760 with high settings Follow TB's advice and turn down viewing distance, runs way better with no real visual difference
Just found this on twitter. [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B8bSTWdIIAA7IsL.jpg:large[/t] I have mixed feelings.
It's cool for Pewdiepie, but pretty exploitative of WB. Turning off DoF and draw distance helped me, didn't need to frig with textures.
While I may be having some frame issues, it's not so bad that it's unplayable. I was in the middle of nowhere during a night segment and after I finally go to safety I checked my pulse and my heart rate was at like 120 BPM. This game is fucking intense :v:
So what is the culprit for the framerate issues? Surely an I5-4790K 4.4GHz Overclocked with a 4GB(3.5..)970 should be able to max 60 it?
Steam has always had that. Being in the proper region to activate it isn't enough, you need to be in that region to play it. My Payday 2 stopped working when I moved out of the country where I activated a region locked key.
That's actually incorrect. There are variations, a game can be region locked for activation or for both activation and playing it. I have purchased many games which only require activation in another region to be played. It actually turns out after contacting Kinguin that the supplier gave me the wrong copy, they were meant to send an RU activation only.

I was literally as simple as popping a url into my browser while logged in on steam. That and I've bought Russian copies before and only ever needed to activate them.
So you can straight up climb buildings a la Assassins Creed as long as there is something to grab on to (windows, grates, even the really small ledges) and it helps a butt load
Anyone else's game stutters like fuck when turning around? I mean, it freezes dead for like 3-5 seconds then its fine if I don't move the mouse
No studdering at all for me (17-3770, 4gb gtx 760) Settings on high bar motion blur, DoF, and view distance
FPS is 30-50 outdoors. Only real stutter I get is when starting in-engine cutscenes, those freeze for like 30 seconds until they play normally.
Obviously. Don't pre-order games, especially when they have one of the worst pre-order campaigns. They seriously gave you more pre-order exclusives the sooner you pre-ordered.
Was about to agree with Boogie until he said anything Nintendo puts out is always pure gold. I can't tell if he was being intentionally hypocritical or something, because that's kinda the exact mentality a LOT of people have with pre-ordering. I'm that way with Valve and Rockstar games. I preorder because everything they've made is gold and I have trust in them. So saying "Don't preorder - unless they're these guys" is just kinda contradicting yourself.
Specs?
4670k 3.4ghz 8gb DDR3 970 hard drive is defragged and shouldn't be under any load apart from the game, I guess CPU could be overclocked since this game really eats it up
TB released a port report this morning, basically gives a complex rundown on how different settings affect his rig and some general advice on how to improve your framerate. Lowering your view distance helps a lot and doesn't actually change much even at 0 surprisingly.
Preloading.
So a little shorter wait in risk of paying 60 bucks for a shitty game. Oh well, to each their own I guess.
Another reason to not pre-order games. They seem to only work properly a few weeks after release these days.
I haven't had any issues. Only problem that the hunter is too easy to kill, and the humans can catch up to you even if you're sprinting away/climbing over stuff.

I'd never risk a pre-order on a new IP after Brink, but I'm more sure pre-ordering new GTA, and SSB games because they're a trusted franchise. I think that's the point that Boogie was getting at.
It's just never black and white. It's only dumb to pre-order in the same way it's dumb to impulse buy on sales. It's just dumb to buy something you don't know anything about. But if you have an idea what the product is like then why not?
I haven't had any issues. I assume it might get easier as more skills are unlocked.
made no difference on an amd card. so im guessing it wasn't working at all anyway?
Maybe the option doesn't function on AMD cards? I think that DOF if anything was designed for Maxwell anyways. So it looks terrible to me and runs badly.
Why wouldn't you just use a vpn? [editline]28th January 2015[/editline] Just making sure, but make sure you turn view distance all the way down. It's the biggest FPS sink right now for whatever reason and there's like next to no difference. [editline]28th January 2015[/editline] Also people have reported putting textures to medium sorts out the probable memory leak if you're experiencing it, but can't confirm that.
If I want to play co-op, the VPN will dip my speed and I will get lag.

Let's say even the best of companies makes one bad game out of ten. That would be statistically losing 6€ per preorder if you trust that company. Now you have to decide for yourself if that gun skin is worth 6€ to you.

I'm not going to care about how my weapon looks if the game is garbage. I'm saying that a company that you, as an individual, can trust with your money will probably warrant a pre-order. I'm not going to pre-order a game that I'm unsure about, or a game that looks awesome from a company I'm unsure about. Like I said, companies like Rockstar that constantly produce very high quality games will get my pre-order.
This game is awesome. Played last night for about 1.5 hours and I just had a blast playing fisty cuffs with 2-5 zombies at a time. Just beating the ever living(dead) fuck out of them with me bare hands!
Oh man playing this game with a bunch or friends while someone gives a flying kick to a zombie followed by everyone kicking the shit out of him while screaming "YOU CAME TO THE WROONG HOOD MOTHERFUCKER" on voip is.....priceless

There is no other advantage to preordering. You can just buy it the moment you would start your download if you had preordered, but will have more information by that time than you had earlier.
Lovin' the game so far, gave the tutorial/practice mode for the Zombie mode a try, and the tendrils are FUN. LIKE WOW. But I don't know how to invade random sessions, how do I do it? At least on PS4.
The combat feels amazing in this game, so fun. I guess view distance has something to do with LODs, there's barely any graphical difference when you turn it down. I went from 20 fps on max view distance to 40+ on medium, 50+ on low. Turning off Nvidia depth of field and HBAO+ gave me an extra 20 frames on a GTX 770 with an i5 4670.
