Anyone got like a picture of the world map they can post? I'd like to get an idea of just how big it is and generally just the flow of it. I had no real interest in this when I first saw it and it looked too much like Dead Island, but seeing stuff on it now and people around here's thoughts on it, I'm more interested.
You can't really zoom out to capture the whole map, so I took the two with most visible buildings etc on. The corners of the map doesn't have alot to show.
Pretty badass game. I've been playing it today and damn.... Night time is fucking insane! Graphics are pretty amazing, only thing is that the performance could be way better.
From what I've played, it seems like what Dead Island should have been. Combat is pretty damn fun, visuals are pretty good (a bit blurry for my taste in some areas), and zombies are actually challenging to some degree. It's almost as if Techland decided to not have their dicks up their asses anymore and decided to be halfway competent devs for once. I mean seriously, why was Dead Island and Call of Juarez: The Cartel such a disaster?
If you buy stolen shit, it's gonna get taken away if it gets found out, that's how the adult world works.
I completely get that, I was simply pointing out that G2A wasn't the one that chose to remove the games, Ubisoft were. But cool, passive aggressively imply I'm a child while disagreeing with me that makes you seem real adult.
Mechanics wise, I'm fond of dying light. But until they fix the memory leak bullshit, the game's unplayable. My screen freezes whenever I get charged by a zombie, whenever I open a box, whenever I open a door in a cutscene, whenever, in short, my character undergoes a scripted camera change, and the framerate tanks in other random instances as well. When these freezes happen, I have to wait between thirty seconds to three minutes for the frames to slowly, slowly start moving again. Fuck this shit until they patch it, seriously. I've got one hell of a gaming rig, this ought not to be a thing.

The games pretty fun but like almost everyone else is saying, the performance issues are a real pain in the ass
specs?
Gonna post directly from Speccy: Operating System Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1 CPU Intel Core i7 @ 3.70GHz Ivy Bridge-E 22nm Technology RAM 16.0GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 999MHz (11-13-13-31) Motherboard ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. P9X79 LE (LGA2011) Graphics DELL ST2310 (1920x1080@60Hz) 3071MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 (EVGA) I should mention the i7 is the 4820k, and the GTX 780 is EVGA's superclocked version.
Make sure full screen is set to on in the settings, for some reason it randomly resets to off and you cant tell because it centers the window.
Make sure full screen is set to on in the settings, for some reason it randomly resets to off and you cant tell because it centers the window.
Alas, checked that. Not sure what the issue is. Though... I usually hold off on installing the latest Nvidia driver for a few days to see whether they recall it. Once or twice in the past they've released drivers that fried the GPUs they were run on. I'm downloading the latest one now and will post if there's a significant improvement. [editline]29th January 2015[/editline] And it's taking fucking forever. [editline]29th January 2015[/editline] Yeah, nope. Not even a tiny improvement.
Is there a way to open the locked doors? I found a hospital or whatever near one of the safehouses and survivor vision shows that theres an absolute shitload of things in there, but I can't climb up it and the door in the back can be interacted with but the guy only pushes on it twice before leaving it [editline]a[/editline] found a way in, nevermind
Runs decently for me on best performance settings, and this is far from a gaming computer.

well i know how to abuse the fuck out of the double xp at night find safehouse with someplace you can stand on where you can jump back into the safe house easily get there throw molotov/explosive stars jump back in repeat
well i know how to abuse the fuck out of the double xp at night find safehouse with someplace you can stand on where you can jump back into the safe house easily get there throw molotov/explosive stars jump back in repeat
Nice this will probably reduce the amount of fun you have with the game to the point where you don't want to play anymore :v: I'd rather get XP the "normal" way. Glitching in these sorta games just removes all of the fun, it's what ruined Skyrim and Shadow of Mordor for me. You just blast everything to shit.

Not recommended tho, last night one of those night monters jumped right into my fucking safehouse :suicide:
So just found out when you make a loud noise and all the zombies start screaming it isn't the useless plebs waddling around on the floor its a squad of fast infected climbing up to wreck your shit One of them even screamed "please, no" before going rabid again when I hit them Good 2 know

Me and a friend were beating one to death and he actually jumped backwards, put his hands up and said "please" Techland why y'all gotta do that

the quick ones seem to die from much less hits though also since I've always kinda hated the idea of special zombies it really annoys be when you start getting those cliched exploders or spitters fucking everywhere can't run a minute in peace before encountering one
Looking at the Steam reviews a lot of people are saying that people with AMD cards are having a ton of performance issues. Not sure how true it is. I might buy the game but I'm still on the fence. I really didn't enjoy Dead Island, for some reason the game felt boring, and I got maybe half-way through before I got too bored to continue. I know a lot of people enjoyed the game and I do like games zombie games and games with melee combat like Condemned, Chivalry or Dark Messiah but I never really got into Dead Island. If they release a demo of Dying Light I might be swayed but right now the huge price and the fact I wasn't a fan of Dead Island is making me wary.
Does Shadowplay refuse to work with this game for anybody else? I just get a jumbled mess of a recording. Coming from someone who loved the idea of Dead Island but hated the game itself it's much improved and the freerunning is really fun. [editline]29th January 2015[/editline] here's an example what shadowplay outputs with dying light [vid]http://a.pomf.se/sfbhlw.webm[/vid]

They are newly infected and still act human, but can't control themselves. That's why they still speak out when you hit them, and look healthy.
Anyone got his key from gamers-outlet? They apparently sell region free gifts for around 30€, not sure if I should risk it. [editline]29th January 2015[/editline] Also: Im located in germany and the game is not for sale here. Will probably get a censored release later on. Anyone with the same story? Cant edit, no idea why

There's kind of a missed opportunity with the PC being infected and taking a bunch of experimental drugs to give you some infected abilities, survivor sense does it a little bit with how infected are highlighted but there could've gone with some real body horror stuff and didn't.

Are we spoiler tagging quests from the main storyline? If so: (this is about 8% into the main story) [sp] I was collecting money from the three towns for Rais, on the third town it got night time. A bomber blew up and alerted the nearby volatile night creatures. So now I had to kill them to continue going on with my storyline. Had to use a couple medkits just to take out one, another got alerted by my fighting and ran after us, it was horrifying. Luckily the first one pushed me under the stairs right before I killed it and I realized there was a little cubby in there. The night volatile couldn't reach me, or even see me, so it ran off after a bit. It was still inside the town though so I would have to kill it to finish the quest. It got day time, luckily, and it got stuck on a fence, so all I had to do was hit it, and all it wanted to do was to run away from the sun. [/sp]

There's a second map area? I didn't even know! Here I am thinking this first map is all you get. Plus, the night time zombies are actually killable? I haven't even attempted it yet like.
