this is like nearly always the case
the only game i know where the american cover is better is no more heroes 1
And Metal Gear Rising imo.
Oh god, american box art cover is kind of a let down. It's almost as bad as the ico cover.
Oh god, american box art cover is kind of a let down. It's almost as bad as the ico cover.
What are you talking about Ico box art was amazing, i mean you got to see his horn things.
Almost as good as the Megaman box art.
I've been thinking up ways of how other jojo characters could fit into a fighting game so I wrote this nerdy speculation as to what their special moves would be.
Because of the size of this post I can't tag every single spoiler, so... THIS HAS SPOILERS FROM EVERY PART OF THE MANGA EXCEPT PART 8.
Phantom Blood
ROE Speedwagon
Type: Normal
Style button: Pulls out his stupid hat, kind of like how stands are brought out. Changes moveset.
HHA: Send out a bunch of dudes from Ogre street to beat up the opponent.
GHA: Spin his stupid fucking blade hat like he did against Jonathan around and throw it towards the enemy
Dire
Type: Hamon
Style button: Gain meter
HHA: Throws a hamon-infused rose at the enemy, dealing extra damage against vampires
GHA: Thunder Cross Split attack
Straitzo
Type: Hamon
Style button: Gain meter / Suck blood
HHA: Sends a wave of hamon through the ground, zapping the enemy and stunning them.
GHA: Puts on the stone mask, turning into vampire Straitzo. Because he knows hamon and is also a vampire, he's slightly weaker than always-vampire characters, so he takes more of that grey regenerable damage. His HHA stays the same, but does damage to himself. His GHA then changes into him grabbing the enemy and sucking away their youth because Straitzo was a major gerontophobe.
Tarkus
Type: Vampire
Style button: Suck blood
HHA: Smash the enemy with his sword like he did to Bruford's armor
GHA: Attach a chain to the enemy's neck and his own, and pummel them against the ceiling.
Bruford
Type: Vampire
Style button: Bring out his hair, changes his moveset. Sucks blood, but with less damage because he's split type.
HHA: Uses Luck to slice up an opponent and throw them away using his Dance Macabre hair.
GHA: Retrains the opponent with his hair like he did to Jonathan. He then sucks their blood with it, then impales them with Luck.
Battle Tendency
Stroheim
Type: Mechanical
Style button: Recharges his meter with some kind of battery or something, I think a lot of his robot attacks would use meter.
HHA: Shoots out his projectile hand and pins the enemy, then uses his free hand to beat them up.
GHA: Whips out his crazy abdominal machine gun, puts in a belt of ammo, and unloads on them.
Donovan
Type: Normal
Style button: Go into his "cloak mode" where he's harder to see.
HHA: Uses his whip-knife to slash an enemy.
GHA: Jumps from behind the opponent out of his cloak, then stabs them with his whip-knife.
Santana
Type: Mode
Style button: Goes into body manipulation mode, which gives him the passive ability to ignore projectile damage by stretching around them much like Valentine's love train.
HHA: Shoots a bunch of bullets out of his finger.
GHA: Climbs inside of the opponent's body and beats them up from the inside.
Stardust Crusaders
Just bring back most of the HFTF characters, basically.
Diamond is Unbreakable
Yukako Yamagishi
Type: Stand (Love Deluxe)
Style button: Brings out stand
HHA: Uses Love Deluxe to smother the enemy.
GHA: Holds up three of those questions cards she used against Koichi. The opponent chooses wrong, which frustrates Yukako, leading her to throw them around with Love Deluxe.
Yuya Fungami
*Much like Johnny without his horse, Yuya is very slow and relies mostly on ranged attacks. However, he has a far range with Highway Star much like Kakyoin does in the HFTF game, so he can fight with him instead of getting close. Opponents can do increased damage against Yuya by attacking him instead of his stand. He also has "charges" much like Pucci's green baby stuff, which he can build up by using attacks that steal the opponent's health.
Type: Stand (Highway Star)
Style button: Brings out stand
HHA: Sends Highway Star out at 60 km/h towards the enemy, pulling them into the ground and stealing some of their health and giving him a charge.
GHA: Pulls the opponent into the fake weird door he left in Moriah's tunnel, which greatly steals health and gives him charges. If he gets enough charges, he breaks out of his bandages and shit and can walk around like a normal character. This changes up his moveset, but removes his ability to send Highway Star out as far as he could before.
Angelo
Type: Stand
Style button:
HHA: Sends out Aqua Necklace to possess the opponent, making them smash into walls or punch themselves or whatever.
GHA: It starts to rain, which Angelo uses to his advantage by hiding. He then comes down and uses the rainwater to freeze the enemy into ice, then busts them up.
Toyohiro Kanedaichi
*Toyohiro can only be played on one map: The Morioh outskirts, which has Superfly. He can also only stay on like half of the stage because of Superfly's range, making him pretty weird and basically a terrible character.
Type: Stand (Superfly)
Style button: Pulls his knife out of his creepy hand callouses, changes his moveset.
HHA: Throws a bolt or another object into Superfly, bouncing it around and hitting the opponent with tremendous force.
GHA: Tricks the opponent, getting them stuck in Superfly instead of him. After this happens, the opponent is now stuck in Superfly's limited range and Toyohiro is allowed to leave. Toyohiro's moveset changes, making him take off his creepy mask.
Terunosuke Miyamoto
Type: Stand (Enigma)
Style button: "Reloads" his pieces of paper in order to use his abilities, like Mista and Hol Horse's guns.
HHA: Pulls an item out of his paper depending on which piece he's currently on. Can be anything from noodles to heal his health, a weapon to attack them, or a "dud" piece which has something stupid in it like a phonebook.
GHA: Pulls an opponent into a piece of paper, which he then folds and puts through a shredder. For gameplay reasons, the opponent survives.
Mikitaka Hazekura
Type: Stand (Earth, Wind, & Fire)
Style button: Turns him into body-transformation mode, which changes up his moveset.
HHA: Turns his hands into ice creams, which he then uses to give the opponent brain freeze
GHA: Turns himself into dice, which gradually increase in size as he rolls, doing massive damage to the enemy.
Keicho Nijimura
Type: Stand (Bad Company)
Style button: Brings out more soldiers, which he needs to do some attacks.
HHA: Sets up a firing squad of soldiers, which shoots at the opponent.
GHA: Pulls out an army of Bad Company soldiers, planes, tanks, and helicopters which increases his attack damage tremendously as well as deflecting most attacks with his little AA guns and artillery.
Vento Aureo
Leone Abbacchio
Type: Stand (Moody Blues)
Style button: Brings out his stand, which does little to no damage but changes up his moveset and gives him defense.
HHA: Begins to record the opponent's attacks (not GHAs or HHAs), which he then queues up for his GHA. Drains meter like crazy, so you'll need to go through possibly more than 3 bars in order to pull off a strong GHA.
GHA: Unleashes every attack Moody Blues has recorded during his HHA. If the opponent is caught in the initial attack, every move that was recorded will be unleashed regardless of whether they hit Abbacchio or not.
Trish Una
Type: Stand (Spice Girl)
Style button: Brings out stand
HHA: Makes the ground soft, which the opponent sinks into. She then does a ORAORAORAORA type attack, with whatever he catch phrase is that was in the PS2 game.
GHA: Makes the opponent's body soft using Spice Girl, and then utilizes this new effect by easily tearing them up like wet tissue paper. Trish doesn't really do much fighting in part 5, but I'm assuming Spice Girl has as much physical strength as King Crimson because of her relationship with Diavolo.
Sale
Type: Stand (Kraft Work)
Style button: Brings out stand
HHA: Uses Kraft Work to freeze the opponent's body in the air, then beats them up.
GHA: Meter burn, stops opponent's projectiles in mid air. He can either attack the projectiles to send them back towards the enemy, or leave them as traps. They can still damage him if he touches them, though.
Illuso
Type: Stand (Man in the Mirror)
Style button: Nothing, unless in the mirror world.
HHA: Throws a piece of mirror on the game stage, which he can then use as a portal to jump around or as a trap. If the enemy falls into (or is forced into) the mirror world, Illuso can use his GHA.
GHA: Traps the enemy in a piece of mirror, which he then shatters.
Prosciutto
Type: Stand (The Grateful Dead)
Style button: Brings out his stand. His movement speed and attack damage are cut significantly, but the enemy's drains at a rapid rate if they stay too close.
HHA: Grabs the opponent, and rapidly drains their youth. Makes them slower and do less damage temporarily.
GHA: Ages the opponent so much that they turn into ash and float away in the wind. Because of gameplay reasons, they'd survive this if they had enough health.
Ghiaccio
Type: Stand (White Album)
Style button: Brings out his stand, which allows him to ice skate and changes up his moveset.
HHA: Freezes the air around the opponent, which he then shatters by throwing an icicle or something.
GHA: Turns on his ice armor, which makes him completely invulnerable from any damage (except from the back of his neck) for a short period of time.
Risotto Nero
Type: Stand (Metallica)
Style button: Used to gain meter, which he needs to do the majority of his attacks with Metallica.
HHA: Turns the opponent's blood into sharp objects on their limbs, which then burst out doing a ton of damage.
GHA: Wraps himself with Metallica, camouflaging himself. He then sneaks up on the enemy and blows a hole in their head with various sharp iron objects.
Jean Pierre Polnareff (Wheelchair)
Type: Stand (Silver Chariot)
Style button: Bring out his stand. Silver Chariot in this form isn't as powerful as regular Polnareff's Silver Chariot.
HHA: Wheels over to the opponent, and then slices them several times with Silver Chariot's sword.
GHA: Uses Silver Chariot to slice at the ground, sending him flying towards the opponent. He then uses his increased momentum to fly into the opponent, smashing them with the weight of his chair while also skewering the opponent with Silver Chariot
Secco
Type: Stand (Oasis)
Style button: Bring out stand, which is a suit much like White Album. Allows him to travel underground, but needs to come out in order to do all of his attacks except his HHA, GHA, and grabs.
HHA: Liquefies the ground around the opponent, making them suffocate.
GHA: Swims through the ground towards the opponent, bursting out under them, and pulls them in and does massive damage much like Bruno's HHA.
Stone Ocean
Foo Fighters
Type: Stand (Foo Fighters)
Style button: Gain meter by drinking her water.
HHA: Pulls out her gun, and shoots the enemy several times with her plankton bullets, which then damages the enemy from the inside.
GHA: Completely covers the opponent in plankton, which go inside of the opponent's body and damages them. Foo Fighters, stand form, then bursts out of them
Weather Report
*This Weather Report has his memories and can sorta control Heavy Weather.
Type: Stand (Weather Report/ Heavy Weather)
Style button: Brings out Weather Report, which cannot do typical punch/kick attacks like other stands, but changes up Weather's moveset.
HHA: Fills the stage with an excessive amount of oxygen, which suffocates the opponent.
GHA: Makes frogs rain down on the stage like in the GD Prison from All Star Battle, and snail-ifies the opponent for a short period of time. The poisonous frogs stay around as traps, which only damage the opponent.
Sports Max
Type: Stand (Limp Bizkit)
Style button: Summons invisible zombies, at the cost of some meter.
HHA: Sends a wave of zombies to bite at and attack the opponent. This attack has a high chance of missing because neither Sports Max nor the opponent can see the zombies.
GHA: Kills himself, which changes up his moveset and makes him partially invisible (for the sake of gameplay). He then has a permanent posse of zombies around him, but he's unable to control them like he could while alive. They also increase his hitbox size, because I'm speculating that the zombies Limp Bizkit makes are technically part of the stand.
Lang Rangler
Type: Stand (Jumpin' Jack Flash)
Style button: Brings out his stand, which slows himself and the opponent if they're nearby. Slows projectiles, too. Burns meter.
HHA: Removes the gravity from an object, which he then launches at the opponent.
GHA: Turns on zero-G mode, which allows Lang to fly around the stage. Opponents nearby will also float up in the air, but will have less control than Lang. Burns a lot of meter, as much as Dio and Jotaro's time stop.
Viviano Westwood
Type: Stand (Planet Waves)
Style button: Queues up meteors for attacks, much like how gun characters reload.
HHA: Sends down a meteor from the sky, which crashes into the back of the opponent.
GHA: Sends down a massive meteor storm, which rains down on the stage for a short period of time. The only way this can harm Viviano is if a meteor knocks the opponent into him, which will basically repeat the end of his fight with Jolyne with the boot.
Kenzou
Type: Stand (Dragon's Dream)
Style button: Brings out Dragon's Dream, which changes up his moveset from regular jabs and kicks into long winded and high-risk-high-reward moves.
HHA: Manages to catch the opponent in an unlucky area. He then comes down full force and kicks him right in the face-
GHA: Allows him to summon unlucky/lucky areas around him. He automatically attacks the opponent if they're in an unlucky (unlucky referring to the opponent, not Kenzou) area, but cannot attack the opponent at all if they're in a lucky area.
Miu Miu
Type: Stand (Jail House Rock)
Style button: Builds up charges, which are needed to pull off her GHA.
HHA: Makes her automatically dodge attacks for a short period of time,
GHA: For a short period of time, opponents cannot do combos with over 3 button presses, or their HHAs and GHAs as Jail House Rock makes them unable to remember more than 3 times. Yeah, JHR makes them forget only new things, but this GHA is the coolest thing I could come up with.
Hot Pants
< I'll continue sbr later, I'm tired as fuck right now and need to lay down >
Thanks for reading if you did! I don't know why I spent so much time on this
Kinda pissed they didn't put Stroheim in, he would of been perfect.
he's pretty much the only character i thought up that wasn't absolutely mind-racking to come up with attacks for
thats alotta words
Most of these are too much in my opinion, i think the ones that could be in are Stroheim, Yukako, Mikitaka, Trish, FF, Weather Report and Diego.
Dire, Straights and Yuuya at a push.
Most of these are too much in my opinion, i think the ones that could be in are Stroheim, Yukako, Mikitaka, Trish, FF, Weather Report and Diego.

why would you not want to be able to control the greatness of SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPERFLY
i want to play as the invisible baby from part 4
The fact Diego isn't playable is very disappointing since he was a major antagonist in SBR.
why would you not want to be able to control the greatness of SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPERFLY
Yeah, additionally i think a few of the abilities you mentioned would be better as stages.
Like the room that Jonathon fought Tarkus in with the finish being the chain slamming you into the ceiling.
Or Morioh outskirts with the bolts or knives from superfly being the hazard and the finish being knocked into it allowing Toyohiro to escape.
The fact Diego isn't playable is very disappointing since he was a major antagonist in SBR.
But he'd be easy to counter, you just stop moving.
But he'd be easy to counter, you just stop moving.
if you stop moving you can't do any damage, though
The fact Diego isn't playable is very disappointing since he was a major antagonist in SBR.
If Diego was playable one of his taunts would definitely be the pose he makes when he's explaining to johnny why he's eating rocks.
If Diego was playable one of his taunts would definitely be the pose he makes when he's explaining to johnny why he's eating rocks.
One of his horse taunts would probably be the one where he's doing those crazy acrobatics on his horse when he's caught up with Gyro and Johnny in that valley.
Nvm, can't even pre-order the game cause I don't have enough money I can use to pre-order it. Looks like I'm just gonna have to settle for the digital version... :/
NEVER FUCKING MIND, LADIES AND GENTS. Turns out I have a bunch of coin wrappers saved up that I can bring in to the bank for some good cash dollar! I've counted how much money there was all together, about over $100!
JoJo physical copy preorder is A-Go!Go!

I hope a nice amount of these are BS.
Pale Snake and Smack sound like jokes.
if you stop moving you can't do any damage, though
Well, it's how his stupid dynamic dino vision works, at least how it was explained in SBR.
Well, it's how his stupid dynamic dino vision works, at least how it was explained in SBR.
i know, but the flipside of not moving is that you cant do damage, so its not an OP strategy
i know, but the flipside of not moving is that you cant do damage, so its not an OP strategy
Well, there's plenty of stands that don't really need to move to do damage, and most main character stands except for maybe The Hand are super fast.
i know, but the flipside of not moving is that you cant do damage, so its not an OP strategy
What about for characters with projectiles?
It would be kinda sucky to throw some bubbles at diego and than they decide to stand still while diego can literally do nothing. (still havent read SBR) Even worse would be the other player waiting out the timer.
What about for characters with projectiles?

well in order to shoot projectiles you'd have to move your hands and projectiles move so they're visible as well
and its still the same fighting game, turtling isn't a good strategy since its not hard to figure out where your opponent is even if they're invisible

guys this is crucial and unjust
Good lord, that is literally the smoothest copyright dodging i've seen yet.

Sex Bullets would of sounded cool
but six bullets just sounds lame.

Oh god, they named a trophy TACOS!
Maiden Heaven sounds like a much sexier stand then Pucci's original.
It seems to be one of those "majority unlocked in the first battle" things.
