New video from developers showcasing how Final Smashes are not that broken. Also, new updates from the IndieGoGo page: One new playable character that got in through the Fourth Favorite Maiden perk is Medicine Melancholy. Two new bosses are Satori and Flandre.
Two new bosses are Satori and Flandre.
Sweet! Touhou's Psycho Mantis and psycho loli Im surprised that Marisa hasn't been added yet
Am I the only one who thinks this is shady as all hell?
I cant wait to beat up little girls as a little girl
everyone chip in and give me 3000$ so we can get okuu in
Nah we should get that giant catfish from Hisoutensoku
You won't be getting anyone anymore
I feel like they could have used a more anime style, like the MMD models some people use, and gotten away with it. (This whole video is just moeshit)
You won't be getting anyone anymore
Judging from the twitter comments and and the article talking about a WiiU release (which is a rumor that is proven false by the developers), it is most likely that ZUN is just against a WiiU release of the fangame. The developers said they have responded to ZUN through Twitter about the misunderstanding. Hopefully after any confusion has been cleared, the fangame can resume without any problems.
I would support the project if the models weren't so absolute garbage
wasn't it something about not wanting to look to anime fuck it go full anime it's fucking touhou or maybe they have shit models to stay true to the original(; ̄Д ̄)
maybe they are placeholders haha probably not (ー△ー;)
Yeah, he already said they aren't placeholders. Apparently he's open to changing them up if there are specific things wrong with them, but he doesn't want to just scrap the whole thing, because of the time that it takes to get a full model created, textured and rigged. Maybe later on, they'll overhaul them, but for now they're okay to me. I'm mainly here to play the game, not stare at the models.

The Sims were the first thing I thought of when I saw the models
According to the FromSoySauce Facebook page, the article writer updated the article that ZUN commented on. The article now explains that Touhou Smash was never intended to have a WiiU release. http://gamesaved.hateblo.jp/entry/touhou-smashbros-wiiu FromSoySauce has yet to receive a response from ZUN through twitter or email.
Hopefully it's easily moddable, so that people can add the HD mmd models to the game
The stages remind me of how most Xbox Live Indie games look
Demo for the game is out: http://fromsoysauce.com/TOUHOU%20SMASH%20DEMO%20V%200.5%20%5BFROM%20SOY%20SAUCE%5D.zip
They are apparently going to "fix the weird faces" So yay
The guy behind it is a bit of a dick [t]http://i.4cdn.org/jp/1421531272365.png[/t] [t]http://i.4cdn.org/jp/1421531485082.png[/t]
If you're still hoping for the crowdfunding to go on,perhaps you better start with why you think it was needed to begin with.
This best summarizes the problem
Doujin works shouldn't be about making money, it should be about wanting to give something to the community that you are part of. I hope the project gets finished, but I don't want them to make money from ZUN's creation. [editline]18th January 2015[/editline] Seems like they really should have talked with ZUN more about this. I'm not gonna say who I think is in the wrong since all we have to go by is two people on twitter arguing, but I'm not giving any money to this until everything settles.
There is a fundamental difference between indie and doujin. ZUN wants Touhou games to be doujin while he wants it to be an indie game, with all the baggage that comes with that word.
JS: Do you consider yourself doujin or indie? Is there a difference? ZUN: I’m getting asked that a lot recently. I would say that indies, the indie boom if you will, came from the West. A few years ago, I started hearing stories about how popular indie games were becoming in the West. And I thought to myself that the content of indie and doujin games is quite similar. They’re similar, but I feel that… I feel that doujin games are a broader category. Doujin encompasses a lot of non-commercial activity, whereas I believe that indies need to succeed. I feel that indie developers, their dream is to make it their job. They aim at being a game developer, while doujin developers, if no one ever buys their game, or never plays their game, maybe they won’t really care?
Well it's ZUN franchise isn't it? So they don't really have much say in the whole thing then
Unfortunately, the IndieGoGo campaign has been discontinued. See the video below for details why.
jesus fuck what's up with the annoying effects sounds really dumb and unprofessional
So this has been cancelled? Pity this was actually looking kinda interesting
So this has been cancelled? Pity this was actually looking kinda interesting
The funding was cancelled, the game wasn't. I don't know how/if westerners are going to be able to buy it
