Ok guys, I want to gift a friend a copy of Payday.
What DLC you would consider must-have? (except obvious Courier pack)
Cook off is really fun, I did an hour session with a friend and we left with 19 bags of meth, which equated to 22 million offshore/5.6 million spending cash, and over 1,000 cops dead. We definitely could have stayed for much longer, but I didn't want it to become a drag.
I enjoy this sort of 'survival' mode more over White Xmas, because the house in cook off has you mostly safe from snipers, so you're unlikely to get some total bullshit like in White Xmas where fucking snipers seem to shoot you from areas not visible to you, and ambush you only when you go into a certain area.
Does cook off have ending assaults? In that case, that's another thing it does far better

I think Historical is a good pick because it gives you a bit of everything.
am i the only one that actually dislikes the side job feature?
I have achievement hunted pd quite alot, i don't really wanna bother doing things like tabula rasa again. Also whats the point in doing em for me? after 700+ hours of i have all modifications for weapons, 3/4 times... and i dislike the infamy masks, they're not really special to have anymore..

Yup, the assaults aren't endless like in White Xmas, so in theory, as long as somebody can intimidate law enforcement, you can go on for quite some time.
Pretty much. I had to fiddle with audio settings from both in-game and windows, just so the mic volume is audible.
Even then, the mic quality is really really poor, everyone tends to sound muffled as hell. Far as I've heard :s
Pretty much if you want voice chat, Skype or whatever other client.
That's really odd. I don't usually use, or hear anyone use the voice chat in-game, but when someone does it tends to come in pretty clearly. Maybe I've just been lucky.

I'm not disliking but rather disappointed. Instead of something of addition it's just boring "daily achievement" shit seen in certain other game. I'd rather see something like "Also, Vlad was asking if you to get some info from FBI for him... and since you're going there anyway, do that if it's possible - I'm sure he will have something for you" - and you have one additional optiona random objective. Or "Gage had his delivery run through this are - one bag of weapons got lost here, if you can - find it, he said you could keep it" - and on map there's additional loot bag for grabs and a additional reward.

But I guess that would actually require doing some work for the OVERKILL

The idea itself is nice, I just wish the tasks were something other than "Do this achievement you already did once again". Even if the reward isn't worth it for some of us, it's a big help to newer players (You can even choose which specific gun you want a mod for! I would've killed for that when I first started playing) and just having something else to shoot for instead of just aimlessly doing heists is nice.

Even easier to do, something like "Kill 10 Tasers" or "Revive 10 teammates" would be cool. I really dislike this game's achievements and I certanly don't feel like going through them again.

Exactly this, i'd like the challenges like payday: The Heist had more than these achievement stuff
Almir said somewhere, that they're going to add more challenges than this. Right now it seems like beta-testing for system.
They're gonna get more creative as time goes on and they get feedback, these starter achievements are only to test the waters
They're gonna get more creative as time goes on and they get feedback, these starter achievements are only to test the waters
they also said something about FBI information and a new enemy, they should stop this beta testing and actually deliver
Is there ever any hope for Overkill to re-release the completely Overkill DLC? I really want that fucking Mega Wolf mask.

The only way that you'll be able to get it now is through key re-sellers and traders, sorry mang.

You can try to trade for a gift of it.
So with both Paydays on sale and me finally having a comp capable of running them, I have a dilemma over if I should snag them or not. I started playing them first on consoles, and I have many many hours put in to them already. I know the PS3 PD2 finally got an update sometime over a year ago or something, but well before that I lost all interest in the game due to PS3 always getting shafted, as well as all the bullshit bugs in the game. This sale is sparking my interest a little bit again.
I realize the PC version is superior, but my main issues are:
1. I'm used to the controller, and don't have a PC-compatible one at the moment (tried to get my PS3 controller to work following a guide but I can only use it in Big Picture mode for some reason). I played around already thanks to the free weekend, but I still think it will take a couple weeks before I feel fully comfortable with the keyboard controls.
2. I'll be starting from scratch, which isn't much fun to me. I like having all that shit I earned already.
I'm still considering PD1 just because the game AND DLC will be less than $5. But, it doesn't seem like there is that much extra to the PC version, so I don't know if there is a point when I still can work towards level 192 or whatever on PS3 (I think I'm in the 140-150s).
Sorry if this has been discussed a thousand times already.
PDTH on PC has one extra heist and a couple more bug fixes I believe
Leveling up in PD2 right now is extremely fast, especially given the current event

the PS3 version of Payday TH is probably dead as shit though, I would imagine. There's still some people playing it on PC.

On 1, you'll learn or adapt. It's a co-op game, so while at a disadvantage, the detriment of using a gamepad isn't that steep.
On 2, there's a double XP event going on, and they just introduced a system where you can get weapon mods away from the card drop system by pulling off skill challenges. Double XP goes to the end of March, so if you were ever going to migrate, now is the time.
My only complaint about Jacket's lines is that he does not have a chance to call bulldozers "Construction Equipment".

Oh yeah there's No Mercy. I was definitely interested in that one.

It has been quite a while since I last played, but I remember there always being at least a couple dozen, if not hundred people playing most times of the day. It definitely has small amounts of people, but I don't think it's dead yet.
The mic support is horrible and pretty much everyone is inaudible, it's one of the many basic features Overkill should fix.
One time I played with some mic'd dudes and had to turn game and sfx down to half to hear either of them.
Also it sucks if you're trying to pre-plan because Bain and/or the contractor is talking and you can't hear your teammates over them.
where the heck is bonnie
Although I almost always play with my friends in-person so we get the communication done anyway without mics :v:

She went for a drink with the new GenSec enemy.
iirc, I think overkill doesn't update on Sunday.
I could be wrong, but who knows?
iirc, I think overkill doesn't update on Sunday.

They forgot to push the release button, and no one is at the office.
