Speaking of Crunch - how many actual games gotten Vehicle Chases and alike actually well done? By which I mean for it to be a bit more than just rolling high to meet the needed result.
IIRC Feng Shui has a pretty cool chase system, but it's not really very crunchy (also, I've literally never used it, so I can't comment on how well it works in practice)
we did a few chases in our Savage Worlds game too and they seemed to work pretty well
I've started writing bits and pieces for homebrew dark eldar extention for Only War.
Degenerate xenos black crusade/necromunda sounds fun.
homebrew dark eldar extention for Only War.
They already have rules in Only War(Enemies of the Imperium). Rogue Trader and Black Crusade also have rules for them.
[editline]28th June 2015[/editline]
Unless you're talking about rules for letting the players be Dark Eldar.
In which case I don't think Soul Reaver Dark Eldar would work very well in Only War, so go right on ahead.
the new shadowrun character sheet for roll20 is awful
There's a new one?
[editline]28th June 2015[/editline]
Oh god this looks disgusting
I've seen much worse.
I've seen much worse.
Fantasycraft definitely takes the cake for most awful looking roll20 sheet, blood red vomit background
I was in the game you ran and we had the same issue of combat turns where nothing happened because people rolled advantages and not successes. That could just be roll20's weird dice roller though. Plus one of the other players who had played EotE a bunch kept correcting you on how the mechanics worked. Still probably one of the most boring games I've been in though.
You're misremembering, I'm looking through the logs of the game now and it works fine, honestly you guys took care of combat in no time flat.
As for it being boring, eh, everyone else seemed to enjoy it, you just barely did anything. Maybe it's not your thing, but it wasn't boring.
If anyone's running a zombie-theme game, this is an awesome tool for both tracking location and finding places to go to loot/hold up in. I'll be making good use of it for my upcoming End of The World scenario.
That's actually really cool. Rather than try to escape the hellhole you set up for them they(seem to) try and fix it
Why contain it?
Why not assume the positions of those crimelords and run the city unopposed?
Zombies are unoriginal and lame though. No offense, just not my cup of tea at all.
Zombies are unoriginal and lame though. No offense, just not my cup of tea at all.
Seems like a somewhat useful resource for anything that's set in the real world.
Doesn't have to be limited to just zombies.

I agree it does look useful for real world use. I was simply giving an opinion on zombies, since it was part of the topic.
Well there are "danger zones" coloured in red, which would be most useful for zombies, but you can turn those off.
Zombies are unoriginal and lame though. No offense, just not my cup of tea at all.
all non-wizards are unoriginal and lame
Well there are "danger zones" coloured in red, which would be most useful for zombies, but you can turn those off.
It's nice to know that I live right in the middle of a danger zone. :v:
all non-wizards are unoriginal and lame
All wizards are unoriginal and lame, because if every wizard is original, none of them are.
All wizards are unoriginal and lame, because if every wizard is original, none of them are.
that is a complete fallacy, because not everyone is a wizard
that is a complete fallacy, because not everyone is a wizard
how do you know? how do you know that a fighter is merely an wizard indisguse, flawlessly copying what an puny martial can do.
how do you know? how do you know that a fighter is merely an wizard indisguse, flawlessly copying what an puny martial can do.
all high level characters are wizards
Oh boy, my D&D party decided to get rid of the green dragon in Lost mines, and we getting rekt.
Edit: was the first one to be able to escape yay.
Also, it was a druid who asked us to get rid of the dragon, we didn't only get seriously hurt by the dragon, but nearly killed the druid and burn several trees.
Zombies are unoriginal and lame though. No offense, just not my cup of tea at all.
This reminds me, a friend wanted to run a zombie campaing, but nobody was interested. We both cursed the flood of zombies in media.
IIRC Savage Worlds already has an initiative system based on cards so... you're already there if you go with SW.
Yeah, I wanted to introduce tarot cards somehow, found out about card based initiative and said "cool, I want this"
I can totally see a rules-light system running off the Tarot Cards.
You can use Major Arcana for randomization of adventure itself, while Minor Arcana could be used for actual "dice rolls", specifically for conflict resolution.
Minor Arcana can work on 4 Elements system, where each Element is:
Superior to 1 Element (Always Defeats in Opposition)
Inferior to 1 Element (Always Defeated when Opposed by)
Equal to 1 Element (Value Superiority)
Swords: Superior to Coin. Inferior to Cups. Equal to Club.
Clubs: Superior to Cup. Inferior to Coin. Equal to Sword.
Coin: Superior to Club. Inferior to Swords. Equal to Cup.
Cups: Superior to Sword. Inferior to Clubs. Equal to Coin.
Played a 1 shot Pathfinder dungeon crawl as a gnome Holy Tactician Paladin, MVP as fuck, kept everyone alive with lay on hands, dished out buffs all session with a couple of wands and +3 attack bonuses for everyone against a demon and then a lich since that version of smite kicks ass, shuffled people out of danger with free 5ft steps when they were dumb, consecrated the lich's phylactery, evil altar thing, and corpse after the fighter threw it off a balcony and smashed it all over the ground, AND found a big case of ale and shared it out.
AND found a big case of ale and shared it out.
this is by far the greatest accomplishment in that post

Gotta keep moral up.
SR5's new book Chrome Flesh has some ridiculous stuff in it, there's a cyber poop bag, dynamically resizable breast implants that can be hacked, cyberdongs and all the furry stuff make a return, and move-by-wire is now absolutely insane.

well lads, anyone up for a 5E game?
How hard is it to learn Shadowrun as a newcomer to Pen 'n' Paper RPGs? Last time I checked the rulebook was quite massive.
4e was a pain but from what i've heard, 5e is a lot more streamlined, in a good way
But can you put those SR 5e breast implants on dudes?
