So I've decided on running Shadowrun 5e. It seems simple enough to learn and I think the people I usually play with will enjoy it. I just have to make it clear that things are more morally ambiguous in this game as opposed to things like Pathfinder and DnD.
I think a good way to describe it to people who normally play D&D is that everyone is either chaotic evil or lawful evil by default, and the risk of someone more powerful than you taking exception to you is the main thing keeping order.

there's like a handful of people who aren't douchebags, though
also a few people that are good guys, but they're mostly douchebags.

And the one guy who was both good and not a douchebag is dead right?
And the one guy who was both good and not a douchebag is dead right?
Yeah, he got mugged by those other guys.
Yeah, he got mugged by those other guys.
Actually he killed himself to stop some other guys from coming to the place, but accidentally let a whole other group of guys come instead, but also that other guy who is also kind of a douchebag but not as much.
I'm looking to join an nWoD group, and I'm okay with just about any splat but would like to try Hunter, or Changeling, or Mage.
Would anyone let me join? Or point me to the right direction?
I want to get into this, but I have no one to play with :C
I want to get into this, but I have no one to play with :C
there's plently of folks to play with, just not many that aren't spergs or dnd-fags
Are there skype groups or something? I'd be willing to devote time to learning the rules and such

If ya can't find anyone, just read the books (depending on the game). If you have D&D 3.5 questions or Pathfinder questions, I can try to help, just add me on Steam.

Can't help you with any other systems though; I know jack shit on other stuff.
I can tell you entirely too much about Mekton if you like crunch, giant robots, math, and crunch.
[editline]16th August 2015[/editline]
Also somewhat convoluted rules that seem to change in the book when you're not looking.

The Mekton Space Wizard is a powerful entity, whose only known purpose is to confuse and bewilder players of the Mekton Tabletop RPG. His abilities include: Changing the rules when you're not looking, producing ridiculous art on various pages, and damning the souls of those who make cheesed Mek builds; and should you ever perish while the Mekton PDF still draws CPU cycles, you too will be forever trapped to wander the pages of madness held within.
Gonna play DnD for the first time in a week from now. It's being held in a tavern cellar and it turns out my [sp]anime club[/sp] card gets me 25% off the booze there

I am the keeper of forbidden lore. The Master of Meks, Container of Constructions, Bookkeeper of Builds, Sultan of Sheets.
I am He Who Meks.

It figures, you need booze to lessen the pain of being a filthy weeaboo piece of trash :mysterysolved:

And that's why Magical Burst has made me an alcoholic.

It's not that bad, at least the book is well organised, trying to make a character in SR4 with the karma build option out on paper is worse.
Played a really "clown shoes" version of D&D with a couple of friends. I doubt it was accurate to how the real thing is played, however everyone still enjoyed it. Nothing like spending 30+ minutes in the tavern trying to rob everybody and failing miserably, right? I'll definitely be investing some time to figure the rules out and everything.
so after dumping two different people in hospital care (the second one (our decker) literally out the back of a van while we sped away), yesterdays session of shadowrun was mostly spent being questioned by knight errant, after our driver decided to pull over
this is where the face of the party would usually take over
not this time
I casted invisibility on myself and hid in the corner of the van while the adept poured booze on himself and pretended to be drunk asleep, watching intently as the driver floundered to explain what was going on
Attention to my players in Super Smash Mekton, try to be as available as possible and online on Steam so I can start the fights this week. I should be (mostly) free in an hour or so to host a battle or even two, depending on how fast things go, and the schedule will remain in a similar state up to and including Wednesday. If I suddenly go silent it's because I had to deal with a phone call or customer because I may or may not be hosting them from work, but usually it shouldn't take more than 5 minutes at worst. Unless it's one of the crazies.
Also due to the lack of enough interest, we're not gonna bother with betting. Sorry folks.
But sit tight, because it's almost time to let the sparks fly and beat the shit out of each other.

Regular spiders aren't statted but stuff like giant spiders are in the back.
I am really hoping that bee man loses purely for the fact that multiple mechs might make it hard for me.

Using the rules the fight started with it would have been hard for ANYONE.
Three cheers for the bee man! Long live the hive!

There is a stat block for a generic swarm though.
