Welp, my Mekton Gundam group has fallen apart due to schedule issues (not on my part for once actually, two members went off to college and just don't have the time for it according to them), so I think I might be taking a (permanent) break from GMing, any open games I can hop into? I still have a craving for RPG shenanigans :v:
Wot happened
a bit overreacting on my part, but people not being in character, bad attitudes, everything going super slow, people's macros suddenly doesnt work etc. Just a messy thing. in general it felt like people didn't want to play basically. also bad things by me as well (gm). so i'm not innocent
I won my first Iajutsu duel, woo
I won my first Iajutsu duel, woo
bad dragon clan
And with a little math, the extra xp I got for remembering a samurai would never surrender their wakazashi was just enough to boot me to Rank 2 ahead of everyone else, wahaha

im creating a deity for a setting im making and im having a tough time deciding on their alignment. the gist of it is that the god wishes to seek justice no matter what gets in the way. as in, they're willing to let innocents die as long as justice is served. not kill innocent people directly, but if something would indirectly cause people to die to serve a greater good then it would be justified. i can't decide between chaotic good or lawful neutral, even though chaotic and lawful are the opposite he has elements of both.

If every priest of that Diety is not Judge Dredd, then you have failed.
Got the 5e core books for my birthday, these are really high quality.
What exactly is the point of OSR stuff? What's the old-school stuff like compared to something like 5e? [editline]28th August 2015[/editline] some of the OSR stuff seems neat but I'm scared that it's basically a more barebones version of a later edition of a game.

It really DOES feel and play differently than later editions, and a lot of stuff that was designed for older editions never had a good conversion (like certain campaign settings with special rules, or specific adventures, stuff like that)
I get that it's different but what's different about it specifically. Whenever I just skim over stuff I don't see much of a difference (except for some obvious things.)

Whenever I just skim over stuff I don't see much of a difference (except for some obvious things.)
Well, classes level at different rates, spells are quite different, monsters work quite a lot differently... I mean, like, so much is different. It's deadlier, for one thing. Core rules, 0 hp is death, straight up. Lot more save or die sorts of shit that monsters and traps pull, and more encouragement to be a larger group (or at least have a ton of henchmen) since shit is going to be more dangerous. AD&D was more like a small warband rather than a tiny 4 man adventure group capable of wiping out dragons with ease that it became. I wasn't expecting Acquisitions Inc to be this fun to watch.
I definitely think 5e is better than 4e, but I still like pathfinder better. I like 5 foot steps, I like the higher variety of weapons (5e has no exotic weapons and fewer weapons in general). One of the biggest bonuses of pathfinder is that all of the rules are free online in wiki format, which is much more convenient that books, and PDFs because it's all condensed so that everything of each category is one one page (all the weapons from every splatbook on one page, all the races, spells etc.) Anyway, I play Pathfinder on roll20 and skype with some friends. We don't operate on a schedule because we're all nerds who are usually online everyday, and we play when we're all (or most of us) online and we want to, usually every 2-3 days. If anyone likes playing pathfinder that frequently, let me know.
I like how much content is in Pathfinder, and like how much depth the character stats have, but the gameplay in 5e is way better. Pathfinder's combat rules are fairly convoluted, and there's edge cases of edge cases of edge cases that need to be looked up in the middle of gameplay.

Just finished a session of D&D 5e where I bit my pirate brother in half after we bombarded his ship with cannons from a watch tower. Then, a wizard teleported our party onto it's deck and our sorcerer polymorphed me into a T-Rex. Fucking hell I love table top gaming.

How does dming for 5e compare to Pathfinder?
Are the two games you're already in not enough for you? :v:
I'm in six games and working on the setting for a seventh
I'm in six games and working on the setting for a seventh
How are you alive? I'm in two games (One as a player, the other as a GM) and I'm honestly worrying about having enough time for that.
I'm in six games and working on the setting for a seventh
how
I'm in six games and working on the setting for a seventh
I remember when I was involved in 7 games while working and going to school full time. Yeah. It wasn't a good time.
I remember when I was involved in 7 games while working and going to school full time. Yeah. It wasn't a good time.
you can't really complain about it if it was entirely your choice to join those games :v:
you can't really complain about it if it was entirely your choice to join those games :v:
I blame my lack of restraint. I need to stop myself from making or joining a fourth game as it is, between the two I'm GMing and one I play in.
I really need to start getting back into RPs again, the game store I used go to all time for over a year just closed a month ago and now I an't got nothing to do.
I remember when I was in like 5 games, two of which ran into each other because one started ungodly early and we usually stopped a couple of hours into the other(which I hardly got to do anything in most of the time anyways).
How are you alive?
