two are on alternating weeks, one is on hiatus and two are on the weekend
the one I'm working on I can do at my own pace, and the one during the week is really late at night so I'll be able to make it even when uni starts up again
Does anyone have a link to the Acquisitions Inc show from yesterday at PAX? Played Pathfinder yesterday when they were live, so I completely missed it.

Nevermind, found one I think. http://www.twitch.tv/pax/v/13339844

hello past me
when you decide to major in economics in college don't do it, it's terrible
How does dming for 5e compare to Pathfinder?
It's WAY fucking less book-keeping, it's a much MUCH simpler, more streamlined game that isn't utterly BLOATED with shit like pf is. On the other hand, what you see is what you get, not any decent 3rd party stuff and most homebrew shit really misses the point of 5e.

We just spent two hours on this encounter where everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong.
After we barely survived our dm rewarded us with 10 xp.
I have never heard a louder collective sigh.
Don't worry, I've now ruined two sorta boss fights by using the persuasion skill in Mekton. I feel kind of bad tbh because the second time it was because I was looking for a solution to a combat I wasn't fully sure we could win, which turned out to be completely wrong but IC and OOC I had no idea so, whatever I guess. If that doesn't mean my character gets killed soon, I don't know what will. Haha.

Hey, don't worry, I spent the entire session literally walking around it.
Pathfinder's five-foot step rules are pretty terrible. Instead of being a 5-foot move action that doesn't provoke, it gets to be it's own special class of action that doesn't use up any of your turn, and you still get to make any and all of your actions except you can't use your move action to actually move. Although 3/4 pathfinder games I've played have treated it as a real move action. 5e's Disengage is a significantly better system.

It's a holdover from 3rd edition, and you can still take a withdraw action to back off from someone.

It's literally completely fine, though
It's not it's own class of action, there's plenty of free actions
The reason it doesn't take up your move action is that move actions are used for other things than just movement. For instance, a full action takes both your standard action and your move action, so you can do a 5 foot step and do a full action.
Yeah the basic rule is that you can't do any other actual movement on top of a five foot step, but you can take a move action. And the 5 foot step is pretty darn useful for letting people who fight with ranged weapons not suck balls.
[editline]30th August 2015[/editline]
And also withdraw actions exist but they let you go further than 5 feet (and take up your whole round I think)

Great for casters as well, imagine if a wizard couldn't take a step back and cast in the same turn, the moment someone's in their face someone needs to come save them.
Also handy for circling around to flank while still attacking.
Infernum is pretty fun.
