It also royally sucks!
Only War is very workable with most types of games you'd want to run if you change a few names about, I'd recommend that. Players can also construct their own regiment which is really fun and helps get them involved from the get-go.
I hear that. I'm currently working on a total conversion that uses the system but in D&D WW2
[editline]14th January 2015[/editline]
Completely reworking the magic system is probably the hardest part.
Only War sounds cool as heck because the idea of playing worthless grunts in a setting like Warhammer 40k makes me all gooey.
Also I have a hard-on for the lasgun, don't know why, probably because it's a good old-fashioned laser battle rifle.
Anyone have any opinions on Adventurer, Conqueror, King?
Anyone have any opinions on Adventurer, Conqueror, King?
The magic system sounds silly as shit.
Mages work just like sorcerers, except they still use a spellbook, but now their spellbook can only contain a limited number of spells decided by their level, and they can only carry one spellbook because magic I guess.
here's a good beginner advice: if it uses d20, chances are it's gonna suck compared to other games
why do people still bother with 3.5e and 4e when 5e is out and it doesn't suck in the least.
Because 5e removes a LOT of features in order to streamline the game.
I mean, I can appreciate and understand that, but that's exactly the opposite of what I want as both a player and a DM for an experienced party.
[editline]15th January 2015[/editline]
I actually hosted a 5e game not too long ago with some newer players and it was one of the easiest transitions I have ever had with my friends, I was really surprised. It usually takes like an hour setup in 3.5e if we were going to have newer players.
I'd like to play some 5e. I get nauseous when I think about trying to play 3.5e because HOLY FUCK I CAN'T HOLD ALL THESE BOOKS. Does anyone here play D&D online? I tried play-by-post but I couldn't write a character background for shit so I never got into a game.

That's shit advice, what does the dice a system uses have to do with how much you're going.to enjoy it?

Most of us play over roll20 or tabletop simulator, hang around here or check out places like mythweavers if you want to join in games. And I know on here most games don't really care much about back stories as long as you actually have one and it isn't just a list of reasons to power game
Does anyone know where I could look for a Shadowrun game besides Game Finder on /tg/ or Roll20? I've been looking for days.
Mythweavers has a fair amount of SR4 games, but most of the people on there are pretty powergame-y from what I've seen.

I've looked there recently but couldn't find anything.
I know another place that organises SR games but it's full of 4channers and furries.
If it's F-list it's only last resort.
Edit:
Unfortunately, the last resort was the only thing left to use. I hope this will be worth it.

Gleb was never heard from again.
If you have any insight as to his whereabouts, please keep it to yourself. We're better off this way, really.
F-List has even worse powergamers than Myth-Weavers.
Last campaign I was in that started there the party had a grapple-focus Synthesist Summoner (tentacles everywhere, it was dumb as heck) and a poorly made Crit-fishing Paladin.
Which normally wouldn't be an issue but the Summoner sucked the fun out of every encounter by ending it before anyone could do anything, didn't help everyone couldn't RP for shit beyond shaking their... Stuff. I got the hell outta there when the Summoner started bitching about how my Urban Ranger kept stealing the spotlight by disabling traps and occasionally pulling off slick Hawkeye-esque feats of archery.
Also unless the DM is willing to play the game proper on Roll20 you're going to be in for a bad time; the F-List client does *not* lend itself well to dice rolls. Or tokens. Or anything beyond text really.

People seriously use F-List to organize games? I'd be scared to see the average RPG party that comes out of that website, let alone participate in one.
"Roll 1d10 to see how many fox titties fall out of the rape portal!"

I've been in a few game organised on there and the general rule is if you wanna make your characters bang you do it in your own time and not during the session. Every fetish focused game I've seen run on there has either fell apart before session one or soon after due to the only people being interested being creeps.

You could tell me that it has the best players you ever seen, and I wouldn't set something up there. Same with /tg/players (though I tried that one once actually :v:). Just the general atmosphere, and behavior is not what I imagine would make a pleasurable experience, I'll stick to my circle of RPG nerds, and occasionally picking up players here, since I've had very few issues with that (and when I do, it's mostly scheduling shit.)
(and when I do, it's mostly scheduling shit.)

and me
Are you implying that you're an example of the scheduling problem, or are we now referring to you as a problem?

I'm back.
They found me in a ditch. They gave me some coffee and a blanket, but I'm feeling better now.
It wasn't worth it, I didn't find what I wanted.

I needed my Pathfinder fix.
