"Interrogations" in any RPG never go well, though in my group it did spawn the line: "He didn't die of torture. It was the murder," after a guy who faithfully answered our questions got kicked into jet exhaust.
this pretty much sums up what happened here, except with a lot more stabbing, shooting, and threatening to set him on fire after paralyzing him
all in all, majority of the PCs are absolute psychopaths

Hey now- Izak takes offense to that. He only blew off the guys leg because he was reasonably certain the guy had a pain editor and wanted a little more proof. :v:
Honestly, I feel like torture shouldn't be rewarded as much as it is in RPGs.
"I threaten to shoot him if he doesn't talk. That's a +5000000000 modifier"
Like, really? I get that torture is effective, but when it's consistently the most effective option, it's sort of lame.

It isn't, though? There are better ways to get information, and often they can even go faster because you don't have to worry about knocking the person out/tying them up/getting your torture gear ready/etc. You just walk up and charm their pants off(literally or figuratively).

Before my PCs get a chance to interrogate someone, I mentally decide whether torture will work. I could probably roll a d4 or something but I just wing it. But my players have learned now that torture doesn't always work, so they no longer jump to it as the first option.
Interrogations/torture always seem to end with murder too, even in our case where the guy genuinely didn't seem to know anything and wasn't really taking it personally until Cro shot him.

Silly people don't know how to make an unexpected ally from that one enemy mook you let go.
DM introduced my fetish in the last session and I'm trying very hard to keep my cool.

Said fetish being...?

I can see your conundrum.

For the record, I don't think anyone except Cro really wanted to murder the guy.

Hey, that breakdown was backed by the stats I picked in chargen. If I played a different type of guy I wouldn't go all Jack the Ripper on him.
Either way it was kinda stupid all the way because when you feel like an edgelord to yourself maybe it's a sign that you need to roll a mentally stable character next time. And I wouldn't be surprised if Elo didn't have any additional information for us, anyways.

That's on the DM. When we played this adventure, our thief was asking this goblin how many other goblins there were at their cave. The goblin said there was like 4 or 5 others and the thief didn't believe him, so he threatened to kill the goblin. Then the goblin said there was like 30 and the thief believed him, but I pointed out to him that if you are threatening to kill the goblin he's just going to say whatever he thinks will save his life. Turned out 30 was a huge exaggeration, so it didn't work.
-snup-
Torture in reality is very unreliable a source of information, people are liable to just nake up whatever they think the tortureror wants to hear.
That's why my dates always end in failure.

i have loads of information
that guy didnt
tl;dr mirror is a psychopath
The only time I can recall torture happening in a game I was in was when one of the characters was actually built for it. The one with the gilmore monstergirls.

The fact she was a silver dragon in humanoid form is what got me, dragons themselves don't do anything.[/sp]
Yeah, he was a hired gun, I probably would have just turned him loose and told him to fuck off since we were ditching that bolt hole anyway.

I'm probably being more gung ho than intended too, at least with the drones anyway, Skreech is a lot less likely to get violent in person.
I'm using 5e character sheets but I'm not a fan of them, I was curious what some of your favorites are as I'm looking for something better.
SR5e or D&D 5e?
D&D 5e.
I have no idea what SR5e is. Isn't this a D&D thread?

Shadowrun 5E, and this is basically the general tabletop RPG thread, not just D&D.
Oh I see. Fair enough. Well I spent most of this afternoon typing out a bunch of character information for quick access so I don't have to rely on the book so much. I play as a Druid so I need a list of creatures I can become. And of course my spells, the current 5e character sheets don't allow for detailed spell information so I had to type those out too. It's really annoying actually.

There's custom sheets all over the place. Although, yeah, I think generally you're assumed to have access to a book to look up spell info, or else be good at doing shorthand to summarize it in what space is provided.
This... I've waited for this moment all my life. I, along with the mighty helpful assistance of Dwarfy, have single handedly suplexed a train. My life is complete.

Why do you do this to me.
Why do I do this to myself.
Why did you suplex a train.
Why did you succeed?

Best part of this story? Aperture here banned me from suplexing a train. So I used blood powers to control another player like a puppet, and had them suplex said train.
58 sessions and over a year of playing later, we finally have our first wish in Magical Burst. "I wish for all of my friends to get their wishes." Bit of a cop-out wish I suppose but it works.
