You know if you were to make a Payday PnP game shadowrun would make for a excellent base...

We did it once for a campaign using Spycraft.

Why don't you just, like, steal the room itself rather than all the credsticks?

Nah, it wasn't in a safe, it was a room in an office, heaped in a pile, wouldn't have worked.

You're supposed to bring the safe, then. Jesus, what are you, an amateur?

Apparently, we also forgot to blow up the money we couldn't steal.

Why don't you just aim for something a little closer to your party's apparent ability, like getting hired by a Johnson to pick up milk at the corner store?

It was a 4 session fight and I had stopped caring and just wanted to finish it

note to self: never run a Shadowrun game without using voice chat again
The problem with an evil game, or really a game that lets you be evil, is oftentimes some troll will choose to be evil and then going around murdering/stealing/raping/looting for the lulz.

We had a problem with Team killing in our last campaing (wasn't D&D) which ended up in a lot of drama, so GM decided to ban evil aligments, nobody objected.
Shame about shitty people ruining the evil aligment, I like well done "villains".

rip out the wall, jump in, shovel the credsticks into a waiting pickup truck, jump in, drive away. there, done

I want to run a campaign where the characters are the lieutenants of an evil mastermind and the purpose of their quest is to put down a rebellion full of standard "heroes". The main enemy party will consist of an elven ranger, human paladin, dwarf cleric, ork barbarian...pretty much all the cliche stuff, and the PCs have to lead armies of mooks that are little more than cannon fodder on attacks on villages, depose kings and install puppets, and generally fuck with the balance, all the while being hunted by these "heroes", who in any other setting would be your PC adventuring party being sent against the eeeeevil warlock of wherever.
Even better, I want the villain to be a completely sympathetic dude, who's smart and legitimately wants peace in the world. However, "peace" in his mind entails keeping everyone under the thumb of one guy (him) and yes men lieutenants and puppets who won't go against anything he says--creating a peaceful but boring and very one-sided kingdom, as opposed to a diverse number of interesting kingdoms who end up at odds with one another because of cultural and religious differences.
Even BETTER, I'll let the characters defect completely if they so choose. Suddenly realize you don't agree with your boss' philosophy? Join the side you've been wrecking the past dozen sessions. Party split? Now I'm running two campaigns in one, hopefully culminating in an epic showdown between the two groups and their leaders.

For the longest time, I've wanted to run a game set in a meta-world, where it's widely known and acknowledged that "PCs" are a race of superhumans who's very presence can significantly alter the balance of the world. There are PC-only clubs and some that require you to be a certain level, and people say things like "gimme a drink that requires a constitution check".
Kinda like OOTS, but whereas OOTS derives a lot of humour from acknowledging the fact that the characters are characters in a game, the humour comes from everything being played 100% seriously in-universe, and it's kinda silly.

Alternatively, you can level a city block and hope the safe survives in the rubble.
So I have a habit of saving random generators to a bookmark whenever I come across one.
I just realized how odd it is for me to be saving a link to magicbabynames.com
Tabletop RPGs are weird.
I've got an idea for another game setting that I could probably get off the ground with the help of my old DM, but I honestly kind of get the feeling that my circle of friends will never end up playing a DnD game again in the near future on account of the fact that our last group started with nine people (which is asking for trouble) and ended with four. Some people left due to legitimate reasons or were simply not interested enough to continue, but half just stopped making time in their schedule to play or didn't want to make the trip once the location changed. Super frustrating :/
I played with a guy who was a huge shitlord once who played a paladin, killed an important NPC solely because they showed up on detect evil, and got kicked out of the game for being a shitlord and not understanding how to play paladins.
Was it Gleb.

Never played a game with Gleb, no.
ehhhhh
you'd understand if you played with him, that's all i'mma say
So in todays seesion I wanted to toss our bard into bed because he started singing rude songs about my fighter.
Rolled a 1
I ended up tossing him through his room (Having 20 strength is the best ever.) and out the window on the first floor. :v:
so been sitting here for like
40-60 minutes
watching the Rogue Trader and the Arch Militant have it out after the latter straight-up murdered someone with a tangential connection to one of the many, many enemies the party has (which ended with a car chase and lots of explosions and collateral damage)
this is beautiful

Yes.

The question is, why was this not your intention in the first place.
