I don't think that 2.0 lets you have 3 teams of 4... or can you? I forget. Anyways, I'm guessing you have the Steam version of RVS. Here: http://www.gamefront.com/files/20510407/RavenShield+2.0+32-bit+Steam+English.rar
If you're using retail, get this one instead: http://www.gamefront.com/files/20510238/RavenShield+2.0+32-bit+Retail+English.rar
They say 32 bit but they run fine on 64, obviously...
Yes, Swat 3 runs perfectly fine on Windows 7. Try what FoodStuffs said if it doesn't end up working, but it did for me. Compatibility mode and run as administrator.
you can only have up to 8 operators including yourself. i just thought it would be cool to be in control of 12.
either way i'd rather have a mod that makes the player viewmodel of guns higher quality and instead of just zooming in having actual ironsights, possibly 3d ones. that's what's important to me atm, the higher squad size would just be for fucking around
The mod's pretty good in my opinion. They're working on Project VI, which is the successor to Ravenshield 2.0. Yes that actually includes 3D ironsights, even better looking models/textures, and a lot more. Every gun is reskinned and they look absolutely amazing. They update the forum regularly with pictures and videos of their works in progress. I say it's worth registering just to look around, the project seems like it will be really successful.
12 men would be awesome.
Holy fuck. That sounds exciting.
well i guess i'll check it out.
although i am reluctant to play the actual meat of the tutorial. i'm takin pills that severely retard my intelligence, it took me 4 days to learn how to play full spectrum warrior.
and with a game like this fuckin game where Z reloads your gun i need to be able to get into it enough so i can play the tutorial then beat a mission or two then i'll have it down pat.
it's much easier to just play brothers in arms.
I really love the idea of tactical shooters, but I hate the bots in every tactical shooter I've played. Often in Ghost Recon games I'd go in solo because I was sick of the stupid AI. Multiplayer is not much better unless playing with friends, because often no one will bother work together and it all ends up as a clusterfuck.
It's not really a tactical shooter but the Zombie Master mod was absolutely amazing to play online. It's actually one of the few games which really encourages everyone to play together. Often on one server I used to play on, everyone would play together and communicate, as well as just have fun (the server did have a lot of the deliberate fun maps on it as well). I really miss playing it, the server is dead now and I believe it has been for at least two years. I really hope one of the succeeding mods of it (such as ZMI) really picks up and creates large followings, maybe that community will be restored again.

You should play with me, just as long as we have voice communication, and we're all good.
The original Rainbow Six game was awesome. The game that got me into shooters. It felt so in depth for it's time to me.
Rainbow Six Patriots is going to be amazing as ever.

Yeah, I've always hated that in EVERY Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon game I had to spend four minutes remapping controls. :/

Have you played Vegas 1 or 2? I fear Patriots is going towards that because Ubisoft thinks there isn't a market for tac shooters anymore and their attitude for PCs has massively changed for the worse, to the point of them accusing almost every PC player to be pirates.
It's turned from them accusing every PC player of piracy to turning every PC player into a pirate.
it took a fuckin year to crack chaos theory.
a year.

I bet Rainbow Six: Patriots is just going to be like Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.
My first videogame ever was the original Rainbow Six. Not to brag, but I beat it (and the expansion pack Eagle Watch) when i was 9, so you can't exactly say that 12 year olds don't have the patience or comprehension to beat anything harder than Call of Duty. It was hard as shit, but I remember taking like months off from the game due to the sneaking levels being so goddamn hard, coming back and beating the last 4 or 5 missions. It was so exhilarating to finally beat it that I actually did a victory lap outside. I miss those days.
Oh and I had a similar experience with Splinter Cell. Tom Clancy games were the shit!
I love the rainbox six series
Not really a tactical shooter, but needs a high amount of teamplay and strategy, while still skillbased.

blackfoot studios is also making a tac shooter

anyone mention the splinter cell series?
the third one especially has the option for it to be a tactical shooter.
chaos theory is probably one of the best games ever made. period.
Chaos Theory was awesome. Shit, even on the Gamecube it was awesome. It really was a unique idea for a game, but sadly Splinter Cell is taking the same turn as all of the other Tom Clancy titles.
I guess all we have to look forward to is ArmA 3 and all of these third party developments.

This would be a standard teamwork based game, but even these are a rarity these days.
Out of all the upcoming "tactical" shooters, I'd say bank your money on Ground Branch.
Yeah ArmA 3 will be great, but don't kid yourselves it's going to be a slightly better version of ArmA 2. Not to say that's a bad thing, but don't be expecting a major overhaul.
I'm dubious about the quality of the unnamed kickstarter tactical FPS project, it doesn't seem to have clear concise goals.
Ground Branch on the other hand, has already completed a lot of work, they have former members of the dev teams for Ghost Recon 1 and Ravenshield and they have a very good military advisor who is not only, well, advising, but is also actively involved in the development of the game. Besides if the alpha trailer above is any indication, this is what the tactical genre crowd has been waiting for. Shit that's footage from the alpha and it already looks better than 90% of the crap on the market today.
arma pissed me off. i met the system requirements easy to at least play on medium but on all low it lags like a fuckwad

Set the viewdistance a bit lower.
eh, i'm psure i did that, it's in the options menu isn't it?
So today I just found Rainbow Six 3 Raven shield at the Thrift store today along with Delta force, Star wars: Rogue squadron 3d, Diablo, and NFS3: Hot pursuit. All for a dollar each.
I must say, Raven shield is amazing, Just played it for the first time today.
MP still playable?

If you beat this game You are officially certified to lead a Gorilla force armed with sticks and rocks against Soviet Russia.
[sp]FUCK YOU GOOBA AND YOUR INSANE BULLSHIT YOU CAN HAVE THE FUCKING ISLAND I DON'T GIVE A FUCK[/sp]
it's guerrilla

Bitches.
I don't really think Republic Commando is a tactical shooter. Don't get me wrong, it's a good game, but a lot of the gameplay is run and gun.
yeah you can't even take cover and it's more like vegas.
plus there's a melee move.
Bumping because you get 75% off all Ghost Recon titles. $2.49 for Ghost Recon and $1.24 for each of the expansion packs. If anyone's looking for that old-time tactical shooter nostalgia, I'd take a look at Steam if I were you.
33% off all Ubisoft titles as well, so Rainbow six 3 gold is on offer too.
