im still kinda mad that piece of shit takedown got funded over ground branch but its nice to see they are making progress on it, it looks very promising.
Takedown was the biggest load of shit to land on this planet.
Ground branch looks fantastic in those screens, going to give it a try now.
Takedown looked so bloody awesome and then it turned out to be one of the biggest waste of time I've ever experienced.
ground branch has so much potential but the biggest problem obv is the highly limited dev team
i live like an hour from their little office and they're like in the perfect spot for employees and interns but they just don't reach out for anyone's help. it's really unfortunate
I feel like I'm the only one that doesn't know how to play Rainbow Six 3 as a shooter. I always just do the planning stage and then go into observer mode to watch the AI headshot the fuck outta everything until I get a perfect run.

If that's how you enjoy to play it you should look into Doorkickers if you haven't already.
It's pretty much the planning stage turned into a full game.
I'd kill to have ghost recon on steam. It's only 9.99... though I feel if I bought it now a steam sale would happen this time tommorow and I'd be like "fuck I could have bought this for $2.78"
Its [del]a great[/del] [del]an amazing[/del] the best coop game, if it goes on sale I'll probably buy a couple of them and gift them.
hypno-toad would kill over ten dollars

Although I have to say rainbow six vegas 2 is one of my favorite games. Not because it's a particularly good game, but if you can find yourself in life with very little to do besides play vegas 2 and a good co-op partner in your direct living quarters (or just near to a lot) you can really crank out a rapport and get a really tactical flow of communication.
There are certainly better tactical games, but there's something about terrorist hunt that just forces you to work together to get past it's bullshit.
you guys play Doorkickers? its not a shooter more an RTS (similar to Frozen Synapse) but the tactical side of things is top notch one of my better buys in recent years
I have good news for you, OP. There's two tactical-type games being made right now. Both are early in development.
Intruder is a very cool looking game for the Unity engine made by (I believe) two people. I suggest you watch some of their videos they have so far showing off some of the things that are going to be in the game. They seem like nice guys, so feel to suggest things or ask them about the game.

Project TAKEDOWN (formerly the Hardcore Crowdsourced Tactical Shooter) is made by a team of people from various developers who have a dream of making a tactical shooter that they want, as well as taking a lot of suggestions from people who will play the game (where the 'crowdsourced' comes from). It started as a Kickstarter project, and raised $220K to fund it from the $200K goal. One of the key points the developers want to get down is the idea of a non-linear situation; the map you're in may be small, but you have multiple entrances and tons of planning to do. You can also suggest things on the Serellan forum, or if you pledged money to the Kickstarter, gain access to the private developer forums. I believe at the moment they're sorting out an office and are going to pick out an engine soon.
haha, ahoo hoo hoo ha

Just watching TotalBiscuit's takedown video, was he paid to do that video, he seems to think the game is amazing
he might have been paid to do it, but he was far from impressed.
his first video was when the game was in a closed beta stage. he keeps going on about how it has [b]great potential[b] and he liked a lot of the features but he also says that the game is currently highly lacking. he praises the game in its beta form because he was under the impression that the developers were still hard at work fixing the critical things (they weren't)
the biggest mistake was that they never told the reviewers that they were releasing a half complete and entirely broken game and the reviewers made the broken beta demonstrations sound like they were great when in all actuality they were just praising the concept as a whole and not the game for what it was

my biggest complaint is that chris allen completely overshadowed ground branch who incidentally released a kickstarter around the same time takedown did. takedown's kickstarter flourished because chris allen kept farting out blog videos of what he intended to do as a bonafide ideas guy while having nothing to show for it while blackfoot studios had video footage of a working game concept. ground branch could have had so much more kickstarter support but because of his shameless greed he completely sucked away their support. fortunately BFS are strong-willed individuals and keep on keeping on
takedown took off solely because chris allen advertised the everliving shit out of his game. not because it was actually good. i mean for the first year he only had like four pieces of concept art which were just paintovers of stock photos. then he hyperushed the hell out of it because the publishers were under the impression that his game was in a complete stage since he wanted game booths and adverts for it
chris allen lost pretty much all support. they're making a new game right now that's supposed to be a future-fi shooter in the same vein as arma 3 but we all know how that's going to turn out
You know, there was a game I played some time ago being really young called "Secret Service: In Harms Way" . If I ever had the models or resources in general, I'd love to make a game like that.

I love Door Kickers, ontop of the already great base game you also have the endless amount of modding possibilities which makes it all even better.
Speaking of tactical shooters, I got the opportunity to try out Squad, the UE4 Project Reality successor. It's pretty nice. There's plenty of gameplay footage floating around in the forums and soon to be a lot more.

how did you manage to try it out?
generosity is often rewarded

It was a sort of community event, far as I can tell most people who were invited to participate are generally the ones who are most active on the forums
Due Process looks great.

When the trailer first got released one of the creators posted it on FP, they then promised alpha-signups and never sent them out to anybody but youtubers to this day.
Was not happy, to say the least.
uhh that's because they're smart enough to just not hand out the game to people who they know will throw a shit-fit because it's in an incomplete state
i don't blame vman for it. most of us here are unappreciative assholes anyway

This is another game I got to play because I'm so special. It's also awesome, but it has been not far off a year since. I imagine it's changed a lot by now and I have high hopes.
As for your comment regarding giving alpha access to youtubers (and game journalists), why wouldn't they? When it's pretty much directly competing with R6: Siege, they need as much publicity as they can get and what better way to inform people about the game than through media outlets who already have existing fanbases?

But they acted like alplha access would be available to all. They even sent us an email saying "we will send them soon!" .... Ten months ago.
It looks good, Due Process, that is.
