Can somebody explain me why sniper is considered hard to play?
one of the biggest challanges for any dota player is good positioning, Sniper needs good positioning or he explodes if someone sneezes at his general direction. Or you can just stand still right clicking everything.
most fragile heroes are considered "hard to play" because of how fragile they are, you need good positioning to get anywhere with them i dont think he's that hard anymore since his mini-bash buff practically last hits for him
because they're simple on paper and being simple on paper is enough for new players to jump on them
this is the exact fucking reason lycan and AM were the first heroes I played, I still hate myself for that reason to this day
one of the biggest challanges for any dota player is good positioning, Sniper needs good positioning or he explodes if someone sneezes at his general direction. There are plenty of lineups where you can be a right-click master and kill everybody.
I'd say a good hero for new players is Lich. Not too tough learn to him, has little issues with mana thanks to sacrifice, a pretty nice nuke/slow, a not-too-terrible-but-kind-of-is buff that's helpful, and an ult that can be decimating if used right.

People always recommend lion for new players but I have never seen a newbie do well as lion for some reason Tidehunter is great for newbies. Ravage's AoE is big enough that in most newbie games you don't need a blink to initiate.

He's also really not that fun imo, and that's honestly the most important thing for new players if they want to get better. With lion you have a big bombo blast that can be seen from space but you're somehow not supposed to kill anyone with it. That shorts out a lot of newbies' circuits. As you said, you're squishy as fuck. It's super tempting to unload your whole combo on someone, too, even though stun+hex is worthless. If somebody's first few games of Dota are at least semi-enjoyable I find that they tend to play a lot better.
That's why I think Tide and Lich are so great When people see what a good Chain Frost and Ravage do in a teamfight they're probably going to keep playing
i feel like dota is like guitar hero in a sense you gotta play expert if you want to be able to play expert that's why i start all my new friends off with a couple games of meepo
i feel like dota is like guitar hero in a sense you gotta play expert if you want to be able to play expert that's why i start all my new friends off with a couple games of meepo
don't forget visage, chen, enchantress, and techies
do I have to buy the compendium before a certain stage to get the bonuses?
do I have to buy the compendium before a certain stage to get the bonuses?
No. You get all previous rewards as well at any stage.
You should get it early, though, so you can get the most out of the battle bonus.
And get items from watching
I've been curious about what would happen in a 5v5 Rubick all mid. Would Rubick spell steal spell steal and then spell steal spell steal?
sniper isn't as easy as you'd expect him to be, against competent players he's actually really difficult to play due to his lack of prebuilt damage and ability to insta-gib to anyone that comes near him
Sand King is great for new players Windrunner is also a really good tool for teaching new players
That's why I think Tide and Lich are so great When people see what a good Chain Frost and Ravage do in a teamfight they're probably going to keep playing
Or stop playing, depending on how they see the beast within and hope to not face them.
I got the best card
I think I might've played my worst game ever. Some guy randoms luna and complains that he doesn't know how to play her and demands that I switch with him so I do. I'm not good with her either, turns out. Didn't help that I had to go hardlane against Tiny/Venge and my laning buddy Sand King put early points into caustic finale which made last hitting impossible and ensured that we were always pushed and gankable.
Does anyone else wish DotA was darker like HoN and LoL is?
lol isnt dark at all neither is hon really
lol isnt dark at all neither is hon really
It feels like LoL is always at nighttime HoN got so much BLOOOOM and shiny shaders though, not sure why that's considered dark Unless we're talking tone then, which wouldn't make much sense
lol isnt dark at all neither is hon really
They're darker than DotA is.
LoL isn't dark in the least half the champions are fucking anime characters, the other half are guys like Mundo, and the creeps look like they were pulled out of a nintendo game
LoL isn't dark in the least half the champions are fucking anime characters, the other half are guys like Mundo, and the creeps look like they were pulled out of a nintendo game
I'm talking about the environment and general atmosphere.
honestly, how are they darker than dota? not even the towers are. LoL doesn't have any characters that compare to lifestealer, lich, bane, bloodseeker, death prophet, outworld, pudge they're cartoony as hell edit: and i wouldn't say the atmosphere is either. like i said, the creeps are cartoony, the rosh equivalent is cartoony, the textures are cartoony. i would say the map is darker, yes, but not as in atmosphere, just as in the color is darker
When updates shiggy diggy?
