I don't know why people always complain about Lancer and Nyx. Imo, Magnus also could use some tweaking. A Black Hole that doesn't need to be channeled and comes with a free Vaccuum that compliments his AoE Flaming Lasso, 90 manacost line nuke and buff that gives him or an ally bonus damage and cleave, all this with relative short cooldowns, isn't really okay in my book. I'm not saying I'd rather fight an army of PLs or a Nyx, but I also wouldn't switch those for a Magnus. But it's probably just me.
Magnus isn't really so bad, it's just kind of a shame he's really just an easier version of Enigma who can carry. Kinda makes Enigma a little bit redundant at times.

Kinda makes Enigma a little bit redundant at times.
Honestly, I don't wholly agree with that argument either, Enigma offers something different to the team, a really strong jungler allowing a solo lane to gain a quick level advantage over their opponents in lane and with some heroes some pretty safe farming in that lane while still offering incredibly powerful team fight capability. Apples and Oranges really, they're both fruit yeah but they do different stuff.
http://dotabuff.com/matches/181743460 This match right here. Before this match, I watched my friends (Sand King and TA from this match) play against this "team". Now, I say "team" to the loosest term, as they were constantly bragging. The earlier match had Viper go: "lol zeus 1v 1 me lost fucking noob" Then I told my friends to invite me, and the match linked started. Not only did we completely wreck them, but they were such bad losers. If you don't want to watch the replay, here's a basic summary of what happened. Started out by completely wrecking bot lane with Sand King + Juggernaut against Viper + Dragon Knight. I got at least 5 kills, (first blood and a double kill) in under 5 minutes, got my Battlefury in under 18. Then, came the moment of glory (for me at least). I went to Rosh with Templar, then the enemy team come up out of nowhere and destroy my team to an extent. I finish off Roshan, and jump in with my Omnislash, killing Zeus, Luna and Viper.. I then started spinning, killed Dragon Knight and Zeus, and then beat the shit out of Warlock. Then the enemy team does what I like to imagine is the reason why the Dota 2 community is so hated. They start talking about LAST MATCH, where Sand King didn't do well at all. They constantly started saying how bad he was, how we should hate him, and so on and so forth. This happened while we were completely destroying them however, and here's a small quote from Dragon Knight. SCooby: fucker ya old byatchier esse mutafaka niggas...!!! tl;dr We beat a team of shitheads and got revenge.
http://dotabuff.com/matches/182074347 weaver's items
fun fact, going Pulse max then Heartstopper max has a higher win rate at all levels of play than Sadist maxed second
jakiro could've built a meka you could've bought a hood for early game tanking.
but mek is a really good tank item? there's a reason Necro always builds it even as a carry. also lol at recommending hood against that team
FUCK this game's item drop system, seriously. I solo-queue, get into a 2-man premade. They pick Invoker and NP, I get Venge, the 2 randoms get Nyx and Skywrath. Jug on the other team abandons early, our Skywrath follows suit, as does Nyx later. We get a few laughs in, denied our mid racks for giggles while Bane was attacking it, getting him killed by swapping him into the fountain. Then the item drops come. What does Nyx, the asswipe who did nothing but insult us and leave gets? FUCKING BABY ROSHAN COURIER! Yeah, random item drops are so much fun.
In what situation is it necessary to get drum on Sven? I rarely get it and usually go straight for the core build.
If nobody in your team gets one [editline]27th April 2013[/editline]
I don't know why people always complain about Lancer and Nyx. Sure Reverse Polarity isn't chanelled but it only lasts for 2.25/3/3.75 and does 150/225/300 damage, unlike 5 seconds, and once carries start dealing bs damage that makes a big difference. Plus a the radius is 90 shorter than black hole which is quite a difference, and you can clock up to 240/400/560 damage with a black hole on top of someone. Enigma can also jungle giving more team options and allowing him safe farm provided the enemy aren't on to him (which usually pubs rarely shut down junglers unless they have a Nyx/Bloodseeker), whereas Magnus falls behind provided he is not mid - either xp wise in a lane with a partner or gold wise if soloing the offlane. I will admit Magnus does have a very very good skillset but RP is not OP - if you don't group up then Magnus will have to choose if he wants so waste his ulti on one person and not have it for 2 minutes or he can just not do anything at all. And this is important seeing as Magnus becomes a walking ultimate for most of the game. And the fact it goes through magic immunity isn't broken at all, first and foremost Magic Immunity is something that would be ridiculously OP if there were no counters to it, and if you think an ult stun going through BKB is broken, then every hero with a bash and Skull basher/Abyssal Blade is OP. The only qualm about Magnus is how he's powerful at all points of the game, but there are lots of other heroes like that in Dota 2 and they're not on the hit-list (ie Luna)
I know this may seem a stupid question for some of you. But I'm making some experiments with some builds and do you think shadow blade would be a good adition to Nightstalker's build?
I know this may seem a stupid question for some of you. But I'm making some experiments with some builds and do you think shadow blade would be a good adition to Nightstalker's build?
no
[t]http://puu.sh/2I5If.jpg[/t] what the fuck matchmaking why does this keep happening i'm being queued against fucking ridiculous teams and there's nothing i can do about it

But I'm making some experiments with some builds and do you think shadow blade would be a good adition to Nightstalker's build?
Shadowblade is a pretty good item nowadays but it's mostly wasted on NS. You're already blazing fast at night so initiation isn't a problem and Hunter in the Night gives you nutso attack speed. 30 damage is okay but you'd probably be better served getting something else for the price.
There was a discussion on "Why X hero is logically on Radiant/Dire." in either this thread or another, and I have a question. Why is Dark Seer on dire? Aside from the word Dark being in his name.
I'm pretty sure some drunkard just randomly decided what team all the heroes were on and they rolled with it. Huskar and Bounty Hunter are very Radiant you see.
So in my last game my team starts doing amazing, Sand King ends up getting 4 kills which puts him well on his way to getting a blink dagger and we should by all sense and logic be thrown on his back as he strolls to the ancient. Nah man, gotta get that Ogre Axe and completely fuck all his ults, while the enemy Drow free farms mid. The only problem is we can't stop it because our Zeus is gutless and the enemy team have Nyx, and we have no sentries. 3 leavers and the worst Silencer I've ever had the misfortune to encounter. Fuck me right?
Rapier behind the trees.
correct Edit: kunkka had it the amazing match
dropped gem behind the tree?
incorrect
Fuck me right?
With pleasure.
Kunkka has a rapier instead of a Daedelus? Not worth it! Teamwipe Daedelus ftw.
Shadowblade is a pretty good item nowadays but it's mostly wasted on NS. But if they have the map warded, ganking will be hard. Hence using the shadow blade. I rekon its pretty situational.
Why did nobody tell me about Night Stalker earlier? He's ridiculously powerful.
Why did nobody tell me about Night Stalker earlier? He's ridiculously powerful.
He's higly reliant on his early laning + first night. If you can't do jack shit during that, you're useless apart from moving ward with insane range during nights.
I just lost a match because someone on my own team unpaused when I had to go AFK. If I hadn't died, I would have gotten my shadow blade on alchemist much earlier.
Why did nobody tell me about Night Stalker earlier? He's ridiculously powerful.
This was the first hero I was ever successful as Not surprising [editline]27th April 2013[/editline] Although back then the clock was terrible and I had no idea when it was night
Night Stalker's ult changing the clock to a picture of him and the bastion announcer mentioning is just fucking stupid in my opinion You may as well just have the killfeed say "Nyx has casted vendetta" as soon as he disappears off the map if he's level 6 or above
Yeah, but Night Stalker's ult gives him a ridiculously high steroid for a very lengthy amount of time. Not so much with Nyx.
I really like the NS clock. It's like his banana peel mouth is eating the day/night cycle indicator.
Night Stalker's ult changing the clock to a picture of him and the bastion announcer mentioning is just fucking stupid in my opinion You may as well just have the killfeed say "Nyx has casted vendetta" as soon as he disappears off the map if he's level 6 or above
You're overreacting. Acknowledging whether or not darkness is natural or unnatural(ultimate) doesn't change anything about the game or give anyone an advantage like a killfeed announcing Nyx just detta'd.
At least you can damage him without getting stunned and damaged.
I really like the NS clock. It's like his banana peel mouth is eating the day/night cycle indicator.
His mouth looks more like a vagina imo
So me and Dutchman decided to go queue together It was a beautiful game filled with communication, teamplay and everyone being competent at what they're doing. If only all games were this pleasing.
His mouth looks more like a vagina imo
What kind of girls have you slept with? I have never seen one with teeth!
I just realised something; with the recent updates, it seems like the Shopkeeper's Challenge minigame has gone missing...
