shadow shaman is one of the most scary supports sometimes
I learn the the hard way.
They send this Shadow shaman alone in the longlane versus me in 1vs1, out of nowhere I got shackle and a very ripped Sven came out of the forest.
the big problem i have with ss is that shackle has shit range
the big problem i have with ss is that shackle has shit range
It doesn't matter because as soon as you buy a Blink dagger you become one of the best gankers in the game
forcestaff is also possible but it's mediocre compared to HEY WHAT"S UP YOU'RE SHACKLED
The worst thing about Shaman with Blink is that as soon as he blinks in you know you're about to get bent over the table by their carry who's following right behind him.
It doesn't matter because as soon as you buy a Blink dagger you become one of the best gankers in the game
the discussion was more about his potential as a competitive support so that's what i was judging him by
he'd want some kind of better setup disable than hex, and then by that point you won't have the damage to take anyone down
forcestaff is also possible but it's mediocre compared to HEY WHAT"S UP YOU'RE SHACKLED
Its always better to Hex before Shackles to set up a Ward trap and also risking blinkers like QoP escaping
shadow demon takes a bit of practice but i'd still call him one of the most aggressive supports in the game
I literally just finished a game where I all randomed him
we lost within 30 minutes to a farmed bounty hunter
eep

Pudge Wars is pretty fun on the first couple of minutes, but once a team gets a small lead, Flesh Heap quickly snowballs outta control
Also maxing Rot first and Flesh Heap second is really good build in there.

The reason Medusas winrate sucks is that people solo lane her because FUCK LOGIC.
They then feed and lose.
Alternatively they max Q first and skip W.

the reason medusas winrate sucks is because shes awful in pubs of all skill levels
Why do people want 7 and up keys for the new sets? At that rate I may as well just buy it.
Why do people want 7 and up keys for the new sets? At that rate I may as well just buy it.
Because most traders are greedy little fuckwits.
Pub statistics are meaningless. Look at some of the other low winrates. Storm Spirit, Batrider, Queen of Pain, Puck etc. There's tons of good heroes on a sub-50% winrate.
Like I said, once farmed she's SICK. Personally I rank Dispersion as being one of the best skills in the entire game. Problem is that she can't do anything without farm, has no way to flashfarm and no way to properly escape either. AM, Void and Medusa (to name 3 other powerful carries) all have either an escape, a way to flashfarm or a way to be relevant early on.
She is very relevant early though, if you max Desolate first then the moment you turn level six she's an absolute monster. When it comes to late game, her Dispersion cleans everything up.
You're right, she has no flash-farm mechanic because she's not a farming hero (unless you pick up a Radiance early on), she's meant to sit in lane getting last-hits until someone on the enemy team turns low so she can press R and get the kill.
Also, AM is a bad example because he's no where near as strong as Faceless, Spectre, or Medusa late game (even though he gives Medusa a run for her money), he also activates much earlier if given the same room to farm.

I thought tf2 trading was cancerous. Then I started playing dota.
AM has a low winrate because he is very much about timing. Can't fight too early, can't fight too late. There is an AM window to fit in. Usually around 3AM.
I have to say the only proper support I feel like playing nowadays is Lion.
Lina is very good support. You stun initiates, saves lives and looks cool. Dragon slave has far as fuck reach and laguna blade is very fun times.
Oh and she has such a great voice.
visage, nyx, and rubick are my personal favorite supports
I thought tf2 trading was cancerous. Then I started playing dota.
there's so many more cosmetics in dota than tf2, and in a much shorter time
makes it much harder to put a consistent and fair price on all of them imo

For me it's Ogre Magi because SKILLCASTS, Omniknight because all of his moves feel like clutch saves and Disruptor because HEY YOUR PINKY FINGER WAS OUT OF POSITION 4 SECONDS AGO GET THE FUCK BACK HERE.

What annoys me the most is that people only seem to be interested in trading complete sets. I can't ever find someone who's trading just Huskar's Sacred Bones helmet, for example, only ever the set.
Disruptor because HEY YOUR PINKY FINGER WAS OUT OF POSITION 4 SECONDS AGO GET THE FUCK BACK HERE.
I have annoyed so many Naga Sirens that teleported in and started to use Song of the Siren only to get Glimpsed back to wherever they were. It is a great feeling.

You have no idea how much hell I went through getting just nyx's shell.
-Full set
-I don't break set
-Set only
-Don't offer on seperate items plz
Makes you wanna rip a fools head off.
Also, I forget Nyx is considered support, I constantly play him as a ganker.

What I hate the most is when Im looking for a 1:1 and the guys have the balls to ask me to add "sweets" when he took me 1:1 offer.
Also, I forget Nyx is considered support, I constantly play him as a ganker.
well since he's melee and his only ranged lane control is mana burn it's generally beneficial to roam with him (impale is stupidly good anyway)
doesn't detract him from being a support but still
[editline]25th May 2013[/editline]
that's how I have done it, still do it, and probably will always do it anyway

Then you've got those jerks who seem to think that the piece you're looking for needs to cost an arm and a leg. Just because it's a common from a set it doesn't fucking mean you have to charge two keys for it.
I have annoyed so many Naga Sirens that teleported in and started to use Song of the Siren only to get Glimpsed back to wherever they were. It is a great feeling.
Using Glimpse on ANYBODY who just teleported in is amazing. It's also a hilarious anti-Furiongank tool.

Yup. I've got a few items I'm still looking for but the only way I can get them is by trading keys for the entire set it seems.

Good example of this bullshit: http://dota2lounge.com/trade?t=8985223
i play nyx as lane support until i hit 6, then go ganking and placing offensive wards for ganks
pretty fun hero
this discussion is an accurate description of why i only bother trading with facepunchers and friends

But to be fair is also the fault of the idiots who offer.
