People keep talking about how great Visage or Spectre have been in G-1, but I think they're ignoring the combo together and it's pretty clever.
By putting a Visage with her you're saying "Good ahead and try to fucking aggressive tri-lane against us, it's not gonna end well for you". If anyone tries to dive her they're fucked. He's also a pretty great roaming 4 along with someone with a reliable stun, or just someone like a Shadow Demon, so once you create space you can actually get some kills, unlike most babysitters.

Spectre basically says 'Shut me down with a trilane!,' while Visage is basically just the try-me-motherfucker hero in that situation.

You can substitute any hard carry really, besides maybe PL because no one wants to aggressive tri-lane against Phantom Lance spam anyway

But I think it's most effective with Spectre, since the only time you can really shut her down is in that early laning phase. She's a terror mid game and she's the third hardest carry in the game late. The only way to shut her down is to do that aggressive tri-lane, and Visage is the ultimate solution to that problem.

Now you could do some ganks early on, but she's pretty hard to pin down and, once again, Visage will make you pay for that decision if you dive them.

look imo i agree with spectre being a seemigly weak carry as she doesnt have a good farming mechanism and her Q is so mana intensive but her q combined with a tp and her ult makes her really slippery which was a big problem with morphling before he got a giant nerf. her q also lets her set up kills in her lane really easily, the fact that her supports probably wont have boots to engage on your lane opponent means that the slow can suffice for the movement speed and allow your support to land their disables and whatever to get you the early kills you need. the fact that late game you can be strong enough to kill everyone solo with the right farm and the enemy cant physically stop you without forcing themselves to deal themselves a quarter of their own damage means that you can just freely kill everyone or watch as they melt regardless. it's pretty damn hard to stop a farmed spectre also seeing as youre still around when you ult, you can just ult mid fight and every enemy has to deal with your tough illusions which late game will themselves deal up to 910 pure damage to each lone target provided you have enough attack speed to attack twice per second, and if you have diffusal will burn 280 (504) mana it may seem like an over exaggeration but people playing a farmed spectre must deal with her illusions, her dps output, and their own damage being used against them (plus its pure so you cant counter it with hood etc)
oh and why spectre is so big early/mid game (and its still useful late game when you have immense farm and a couple good orbs like diffusal/crit plus your desolation) is her ultimate, at any given point in the game you can shuffle around to help your team and get the early gold and exp you need to make up for the fact you dont have a good farming mechanism. thats just why i personally believe spectre is a good carry, she has the late game of PL and the early global presence of a prophet

Enchantress with Heart and Shivas is borderline immortal. It takes a concentrated team effort to take her down and even then if you're focusing Ench then what is her team up to?
Speaking of Spectre, is picking up a radiance late on her valid? Rushing it seems to be a bit risky, when you can get a fast diffusal and later manta to destroy mid-game. Afterwards it seems to synergize with dispersion a lot, sure it won't do much to the carries, but the supports will cry a lot.
