Then how did I get 2 more days of low pri :c
a) Abandon
b) You did reportable things
c) GabeN is literally Hitler
yknow this may sound really stupid but why has nobody ever tried to trilane Radiant mid
you've got a camp you can pull and everything if you destroy some trees with wisp or something
easy access to rotations for the supports early on
shuts down the enemy mid which could be extremely important if it's somebody like Magnus
absolute domination of runes because enemy mid can't afford to risk going for one due to all the disables
unused tactic so you have element of surprise
rotate the mid to the 1v1 lane (against the enemy solo) and put the offlaner vs the enemy trilane
except that they changed the easy camp leash range if i remember correctly so its not possible to pull anymore

if you want to shut down a mid just fucking gank him
I recall a low prio game being one of my finest Gyrocopter matches ever.
While I didn't exactly get kills out the wazoo, i did seem to do incredibly well with homing missiles. One time Pudge kept running in vain, as I said over the mic "Where you goin' Pudge? Where you goin'?!" before it hit with maximum damage and my team ran in for the teamfight we ended up winning.
Good times.

Had the pleasure of supporting Bristleback in this match. Shit was wild. The only 2 deaths he got were because my Shallow Grave expired and he still got killed.

Except you can if you break the trees.

wow i didn't even know there was a dota 2 section
so my house mate got me into this game around 2 weeks ago, but i was skeptical if i was gonna like it or not because i tried HoN a while ago and found it pretty difficult to learn, and i was really impatient. also the elitist community pissed me off.
i got into this game much easier though because i took the time to learn how to play it, and i'm really enjoying it so far. i've played with many characters and i gotta say, slark is my favourite one to play so far. i love how fast he is, and his jump/stun ability is so satisfying to use. it also makes for a great escape. i don't see many people playing slark though, is he just underrated?
I remember playing a low-prio match that was one of the best matches I had.
I outcarried a Lifestealer and a Troll Warlord as QoP

Most randoms play him incorrectly and assume he's trash while he's extremely good.
I had my best match with him today. ended up with abyssal blade, vangaurd, butterfly, and sange & yasha. it was amazing, i was leaping at enemies and melting them in seconds. so fun.

People think Slark is really strong because of his insane regen, but because he has low strength he is actually more squishy than they think at first. When they keep getting focused and die within seconds, they think he is a crap hero.
Alternatively, they build Vanguard on him and then wonder why he isn't doing any damage.

Don't make a vanguard. It's an awful item, especially on someone like Slark.

Slark is a somewhat underrated who isn't played much, Pro players have been picking him up in The International so his usage is gonna go up in pub games most likely, as will his counters.
Don't make a vanguard. It's an awful item, especially on someone like Slark.
The reason why is that his ult already gives him crazy hp regen, and he isnt intended to be played as a tanky carry, the damage block scales awfully into late game, as 40 damage aint gonna be shit at that point.
I recommend using the gold for an armlet or a maelstrom.
What are slarks counters?
Alternatively, they build Vanguard on him and then wonder why he isn't doing any damage.
Wait, people expect Vanguard to do damage? It has no stats to GIVE you damage. :x
What are slarks counters?
He can purge pretty much any detection besides a gem so the standard anti-invis heroes aint worth a damn vs him.
As for specific heroes I'm not really sure, Disruptor?
What are slarks counters?
It's hard to say because a good Slark will be able to Purge most anything - stuns, sight (Track, Slardar's ult, Dust), etc.,. You could say Doom, but Doom counters everyone. Sentries and gem give unpurgable True Sight, so that coupled with some good stuns could allow you to take a Slark down.

Almost anyone with good stuns can counter him if played well (it helps to have more stuns on your team to chain them together so he can't escape). Zeus isn't that bad either since his bolts reveal invis hero's and the vision can't be purged.

Disruptor is good too of course

Silences before he dark pacts

He is the only thing in the game who has the ability to take stats off of something other than Timbersaw's Q, and he can really snowball with a few free attacks off of a hero in a skirmish
[editline]28th May 2013[/editline]
A large portion of Slark's power comes from his regen but because of the way it works, Thirst makes the use of it almost impossible.
I never thought of Thirst's Vision cancelling Shadow Dance's passive
that's insane

OD's W (also temp like Slark and Timber). Silencer's W (permanent).
Necro III also works for true sight... Not always convenient though
I know THAT just forgot the bloodseeker thing would work like that
Don't make a vanguard. It's an awful item, especially on someone like Slark.
i only bought it last minute because i was loaded with gold and i might as well have upgraded my shield
i never buy a vangaurd normally
Somewhat related
I faced a 5man mid one time. It was NP, Veno, Leshrac, Chen, and I forget the 5th but it was another pusher hero. There was absolutely nothing we could do to stop them and it ended up being a 15 minute victory.
I wonder if I played against you...
Thing is, we also did lvl 1 rosh.
5th is usually beastmaster for the aura, or enigma.
What are slarks counters?
Bloodseeker. Rupture can't be purged and the regen ain't ever gonna happen if you drop below 50% of your health because then Pubseeker has full vision on you - true sight if you drop below 25% so your ult isn't gonna help for shit either. Probably the only time I'd endorse Force Staff/Dagon on Pubseeker too, anything to burst Slark to below 25% of his max hp works.
Speaking of Pubseeker, why does my team refuse to get stuns when the enemy picks one, but when I try and play him the enemy randoms 5 bajillion stuns? Same for Huskar. I want to stomp sometimes too. :(
Almost anyone with good stuns can counter him if played well (it helps to have more stuns on your team to chain them together so he can't escape). Zeus isn't that bad either since his bolts reveal invis hero's and the vision can't be purged.

If the Slark is paying attention he's going to be able to purge anything you throw at him. By far the most bullshit part about Dark Pact is the insanely low downtime it has. That it can purge almost anything is in itself ridiculous, but that it has a 1,5 second delay (during which it's already on cooldown) and the purge itself lasts for 1 second with 10 pulses means that at level 4 the effective downtime is a mere 3,5 seconds. I mean I get that he's supposed to be all about escaping and juking but come the fuck on, that's ridiculous.
OD's W (also temp like Slark and Timber). Silencer's W (permanent).
Decay as well.
Most randoms play him incorrectly and assume he's trash while he's extremely good.
Slark is the best hero for stomping bad people.
Easy to hit extremely high damage nuke, easy escape and large right click damage. As well as free purge with low cooldown.

By the way, don't get a late vanguard.
Just end the game or buy an eaglesong or something.
Vanguard is only useful if you get it 10 minutes in on a very few specific heroes.
creating an alternate account, giving your self dota on it, and proceeding to wreck face against new people because you've been playing this months longer than they have.
I use my smurf account to play with friends with low wins.
I feel slightly bad, but I'd rather my friends not play against people with 500-1000 wins.
i only bought it last minute because i was loaded with gold and i might as well have upgraded my shield

if you really want to upgrade your stout, you can always upgrade it into a poor man's shield earlier in the game, it only costs 300 extra gold and works pretty good for agility heroes like slark
