thanks, that picture is amazing
I kinda want to start playing Dota 2. Been reading a few guides about how it's different from LoL. One thing which hasn't been touched upon is what items you build towards. For all the guides I've seen for different heroes, it says what you should get early, what are the core items, and some situational/late game items. In Dota, do you have "fully built" in the same way LoL does? That is, the 6 (+?) items you want to end up with by the endgame. I ask, because Dota guides don't have an "endgame setup" like LoL guides do.
Go something like: WEWQWRWQQQREEE... Swarm is incredibly underrated.
What's best, 522 movespeed+invis, double damage every 2 seconds, or the ability to throw 30 damage -1 armor per hit things at super slow movespeed that costs a third of your manapool and gives minor vision. Hint: never get q over w or e, at most you could maybe possibly perhaps just sometimes get one point in q.
just discovered dotabluff shit is useful [editline]30th May 2013[/editline] here's the replay and match info to this thing btw http://dotabuff.com/matches/206107305

You see a situational items category that is filled with items, this is your endgame setup, you pick what is needed right then, and sometimes what you need isn't listed in valves situational list either.

http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/build/annie-the-nukers-guide-s3-289287 Notice the "standard finish" items. There are some situational late game items listed below, e.g. get this for more magic resist if the enemy team has lots of casters. However, for most games, you'll want the "standard finish". Is this idea applicable to Dota 2, or is there too much variation for there to be a standard endgame for each hero?
just fyi slark is a low skill hero
so? i'm not a pro tournament nerd, idc how easy a character is to pay. i only play the game for fun.
Is it worth using your ult + dagon to insta-kill Riki at any given point of the game (as Lion)? At least until it gets to the point where he's shut down and won't be able to do anything later on, then I can move to bigger targets.
honestly slark is easy to play, but Timing your purges to get out of stuns takes some time. You basically have to know how that heroes stun works, ect.
Yesterday i got carried by gyro in two games out of three, was surprised how in the first game our gyro managed to get like 800 gpm Also the second game the gyro actually complimented his support and commended him, it's a nice change when you have been seeing your friends go support and the carry being both braindead and blaming its support nonstop all fucking week
Very dependant on lane. You either max shukuchi or geminate first, don't get any points in Q. Use his R to be the ultimate dick, it has low cd. Shukuchi gives you 522 speed no matter what, use it when slowed. Make Linkens for awesome regen and blocking stuns (If the enemy has no heroes that has magic blocked by Linkens you've already won) then make 5 mkbs and gg. If you need a purge you can get Manta, otherwise don't. Weaver is better with +damage items MKB stacks directly AND works 100% with geminate attack, including the ministun damage, and ministun proc chance (If 2 procs at once it deals full bash damage) You could rush radiance within 20 min but mkbs are cooler. Butterfly is ok as a defensive item but not better than mkb. Vanguard sucks do not make.
Thanks, been wanting to try weaver for a while

Riki has his cloud, which if placed right, screws over anyone who lacks BKB or way to get out of it. Given how him staying alive in teamfights = earning assisst/kill gold and that's gold he can carry with, I'd say it's worth it unless you have much higher priority target that has record of being trouble if not taken care of. Usually teamfights look like this, Carries going for enemy Supports, while Supports occupy hostile carry. Usually, as in not always and not for a certain and unescapable reason that proper hero composition can't alter.

(Also they are called heroes) Certain heroes has less variation than others, but even they have to bend their items every now and then according to enemy/ally setup. i still prefer getting one in geminate then maxing swarm second to shukuchi, but it depends on the game. even one early level in swarm is good for scouting/being annoying
(Also they are called heroes)
In Dota, but I was talking about a LoL character :P
In Dota, but I was talking about a LoL character :P
"Is this idea applicable to Dota 2, or is there too much variation for there to be a standard endgame for each champion?" I don't see where you are talking about LoL in this sentence.
http://dotabuff.com/matches/206570459 This match was hilarious - Everyone on our team (despite being a 3 v 5 till near the end) spiralled out of control, and my new awful sniper build actually worked :v:
"Is this idea applicable to Dota 2, or is there too much variation for there to be a standard endgame for each champion?" I don't see where you are talking about LoL in this sentence.
Now ?

Some heroes have pretty standard builds (like Phantom Lancer or Anti-Mage). Some heroes can build whatever the hell they want (like Doom or Bounty Hunter). Some heroes just aren't expected to have any gold (like Crystal Maiden or Lich).
Some heroes can build whatever the hell they want (like Doom or Bounty Hunter).
does that include euls scepter on either of them
"Is this idea applicable to Dota 2, or is there too much variation for there to be a standard endgame for each champion?" I don't see where you are talking about LoL in this sentence.
Whoops, thought you were talking about the first part.
does that include euls scepter on either of them
u can go eul scepter for 522 movement speed doom with drums BoT sny and the small camp creep camp movement speed aura [editline]29th May 2013[/editline] and i wouldnt really rule it out for gondar, good stats for someone with low mana like him and why wouldnt you want cyclone? pretty situational
Now ?
Using basic grammar skills tells you he is still talking about Dota. "Is this idea applcable to Dota 2" makes his point start out in dota "or is there too much variation" continues his statement further, notice how there are no periods or sentence switches "for there to be a standard endgame for each champion?" continues from previous segment, describing how there is no standard for each CHAMPION"
and i wouldnt really rule it out for gondar, good stats for someone with low mana like him and why wouldnt you want cyclone? pretty situational
aside from the movespeed my honest answer would probably be something like a sheepstick or rod instead
