Scythe of Vyse for Nature's Prophet, probably going to be distributed with something from the Valve Store similar to Battlefury.

Where did I go wrong
The end of the game came down to us successfully defending a 9 hp ancient then losing it to a ranged creep.

It might have something to do with the 5/10 NS who went Treads into Hyperstone after only getting BKB
I want that Scythe of Vyse replica.
Did anybody talk about a bet system? Like, you make a team, insert items before the match begins, and the winners take all.
But she isn't all that hard...? Blink means she has the ultimate rune control, which means free harass and lots of healing, not to mention her extremely good ganking prowess.
Yeah the Scythe is a Genuine so we'll have to buy something we probably dont want to get it
I really hope the blue around the head of it will be a particle effect rather than just a solid blue, it is a mythical after all
about to master Timbersaw, wish me luck

Surprised? No. Disappointed? Yes. :(

Relax, in the typical valve fashion a normal variant of said item will appear. It's happened in tf2 many times.

Oh, I didn't know Dota 2 did that actually. I haven't seen any normal variants of the t-shirt promos yet.
necrolyte, I think my problem is that I spend way too much time dicking around, also need to start buying branches with whataever gold I have left, getting outlasthit on the first two minutes is horrible
well having a rough time in lane as necro is to be expected, he has shit base damage and awkward animations right?

His animation is quite alright, his base damage is shit.

That's an old mod that changes most hero models to Dota2's and the terrain texture (I remember them having very awkard animations.), and another mod that changes the UI.
There is a newer version of the last one, that changes a lot of things apart from the looks. (it uses the radiant/dire huds for each side, adds the level up button, moves the gold counter on the lower side, etc.)

There are about 500 normal Wyvernguard Edges that exist due to Valve testing limited sales on the Dota 2 Store, but that's about it as far as I know.
Sorry if I came off as condescending, but I'm just trying to say that if your mindset is negative, your games will be bad experiences. imo people should be playing games to have fun.
I wouldn't necessarily say I have a negative mindset, as much as it may have come across. I mean, I don't go into games with the expectations of getting stomped 6 feet under.
And you're absolutely right. People should be playing games to have fun. I just stop having fun when I and my actions are taken for granted and anything else I described in that overly long rant happens.
:/
Outplaying your opponents and securing a victory in a close, exciting game is the only reward you need...
Not denying that. Base races are some of the most intense moments this game has to offer, let alone winning one. But I think you might've missed this tidbit:
What, winning the match isn't enough reward (damn near slammed my keyboard to bits when my team once had the gall when I complained about everyone on my team getting cool items except me who got nothing)
Winning a match and securing victory is cool. If I don't get an item in a match like that, I'm not gonna be complaining. But trying your hardest and getting absolutely nothing to show for it, have you had that happen to you for some time? Sure, might be merely meh at first but it's reached a point where it's fucking depressing. The last item drop I got that I actually use is a Jug mega-kill announcer a few months ago.
Let me clarify something. I don't mind not getting items per se. I mind not getting anything when I did everything I could. I mind the ping-spamming, elitist fuckwad ending the game getting Stumpy while the rest gets crates. I mind the guy feeding before leaving getting Baby Roshan (I fucking dare you to keep a straight face when that happens).
I mind feeling like what I do has no effect on my rewards. As if playing bad will sometimes net you cool stuff. And considering the scenarios I've described, can you really blame me?

In a slightly less pissed-off mode, I think I found a strange yet annoying bug yesterday.
Got ganked by 2 guys, figured I'd try to upgrade the courier while I still could. I buy it, die and it doesn't get upgraded. But my 220 gold is down the drain.
Is battlefury a valid pickup on Spectre? I played her for the first time in a real match, but I got vastly outfarmed by the enemies. Still managed to get a 20min diffusal with a drum and RoH inbetween, but I just couldn't tank up in time to remain relevant, my jungle farming was taking far too long.
Or maybe a maelstrom instead?
diffusal straight into heart is the only spectre

Battlefury wouldn't really work on Spectre as well as it works on other battlefury-farming carries.
You see, first is what the items provides : Damage + Regen + Cleave
Damage = Spectre of course benefits from it, but unlike a lot of other carries, Spectre does her job with Dispersion, i.e. aoe damage reflection. Her right-clicks are often amplified only for a couple of reasons :
1. Desolate passive
2. Diffusal blade = carries over to her illusions during Haunt, works with Manta Style illusions and provides strong utility on top of all the beneficial stats and mechanics.
3. Side-benefit to items such as Diffusal Blade, Manta Style, etc. main via Agility
4. Other cases, where Specte feels need for specific damage-oriented items, maybe due to hero composition or team's strategy.
Cleave = Spectre's positioning is limited to Haunt + Spectral Dagger. One has lenghty CD, the other is amplified movement, not instantenous movement. People already want to run away from Spectre due to Dispersion's range scaling, and you are not Faceless Void who can eliminate their attempts to do so.
Regen = Always neat, always good, question is, wether the amount of regen it provides is worth it compared to how little other stats/mechanics give Spectre.
Now, if this is the case, how do you farm with Spectre without help of such items ? One of the old and liked methods is Radiance, making Spectre's aoe potential to be present outside of teamfights where Dispersion is constant and significant. Radiance of course has worse scaling and takes more time to kill enemies with, but due to it's passivity it will benefit Spectre's gameplay style more than right-click amplification.
Being outfarmed on Spectre is common case, but this is often offset by the fact that she is one of the harder carries, meaning that when she actually comes online, she's more powerful that many other carries at their peak. This isn't fail-proof of course, a lucky PA, well positioned Sniper or even knowledgeable Ursa can still overpower Spectre and her team, but in a semi-equal fight, Spectre is more dangerous than many other heroes, simply because of the power of Dispersion, mobility via Spectral Dagger and Haunt.
If you really feel powerless in the right-click department and that causes a lot of teamfights to go awry due to your damage output, consider following :
1. Diffusal Blade + Manta Style. With Lvl2 Diffusal and 3 illusions, god forbid Desolate on top if target is isolated, you can really burst people down. Especially if they are slowed via purge/dagger.
2. If you do have items that provide you durability (Manta, Heart, etc) you can consider heavy-duty right-clicks, but you should always keep in mind Dispersion and possibly Illusions. What do I mean by heavy-duty ? Daedalus, Rapier, Butterfly, Skadi, Mjollnir, etc.
Now, notice I said "when you have durability". Those damaging items come last for a reason, and that is your innate lack of amplifying their use in hand-to-hand combat. To put it simple : Spectre scales well with durability first, damage second. Without durability, Spectre will be easy to burst down, she's melee which makes positioning all that more difficult and Spectral Dagger after all is just that, it's not blink or invulnerability that will help your right-clicks.
Now, I've just read on Wiki about the Armlet on Spectre. It sounds neat, provides a lot of what she needs and possibly allows her to come online very early on, making aquisition of following items much safer or even quicker due to kills. Consider that in your future games.
I've started trying Treant Protector and it feels like I'm a moving buff cart of tanky tankiness. I have like four auras (drum, mekansm, vlads and AC) and just run into team fights, pop ult and watch as my steroided teammates wreck shit. If necessary I pop a W on a hero and smack them in the face a few times but generally don't deal much damage myself.
Am I doing this right?

Get an Armlet to be overboard with steroids. Tree steroids.
A good treant can pretty much ensure wins all the time since all your carries (that would be all the rest of your team if you are in a pub) can get free regen and tower-dive without having to worry about dying.

Its how you should play any tank, Treant is lucky enough to have the second highest strength in the game
