even when you're against heavy harassers in lane and can't do shit
Lifestealer is super shit at jungling dude. (You'd die less if you were in a solo lane, you might get more gold from forest depending on how much they gank) (Obviously this assumes you fight people that don't suck)
You can either jungle slowly and very unsafely while praying that no enemy enters the forest for the first 15 minutes, or you can farm in lane and get easy kills and lodsemone with no effort.
I dont wanna be that kind of guy . but I wanna play Spirit breaker.
How I build and skill this guy?

Spirit Breaker was buffed so he doesn't suck.
Max bash and charge, W sucks don't get it before you have nothing else to skill.
Make Treads, attackspeed and MoM is cool because it gives attackspeed and damage.
You NEED BKB, your bash goes through enemy BKB, assault cuirass, mjollnir or daedalus is great after you got those items.
Spirit Breaker is early game ownage so don't try to hardcarry unless you are very fed.
You need an urn because you are gonna be ganking a lot, Spirit Breaker hits like a truck even without any items.

One point in charge @ lvl 1.
Max bash first(as it makes your ult actually do damage).
I'm actually clueless what you max next, im assuming you max passive? It gives damage to his bash and makes him a BITCH to kill.

You max charge over passive because you need mobility (150 movespeed adds up) and that 2,4 second stun is awesome.
W sucks because it gives you like no damage, even with 4 points it only gives 18% extra, which will be like 63 or something, which turns into 25 extra damage, which is not nearly as good as charge.
Edit: It actually gives slightly less assuming you only have treads up, and it doesn't make MoM more effective so it still adds like 23 or so damage.

Alliance lost to Na'Vi and Mouz today after not dropping a game since like April, unless I missed some recently

Lodsa replies but I theorycrafted some Spiritbreaker shit a while ago.
MoM is nice on him, although not required core item like blink on ES, you can easily substitute it with an Armlet. Boosts your natural tankiness even more.
After your core items (including BKB) you can try out Necronomicon. The warriors move fast as hell thanks to your aura and they are amazing overall. Add that to global map presence whenever needed and he can push well with this too. You also never run out of mana again after you get it.
Add these pointers up to the other advice you have been given, they made their points but I added my own which weren't mentioned yet.
I vastly prefer Mjollnir on Barathrum. Slower to get than MoM, but good lord does shit die fast without sacrificing any of your tankyness.
A while back, our lifestealer went mid since they had pudge.
I was confused, but then I realized how much lifestealer would kick pudges ass in lane.
There are very few things that can truly get away with Mask of Madness :
- Void that lands good Chrono
- Extremely well positioned Sniper <I'll get called out on this one, right ?>
- SingSing
Everyone else has to deal with the fact it's super-steroid that makes your advantage greater, as long as you have advantage. If you don't, well, 30% amplified damage intake.

I don't keep much of an eye on the competitive scene, but isn't Na'Vi one of those lower quality teams that one guy described as "pubtrash"? 'cause if that's the case, either Alliance let itself go, or Na'Vi got better.
This is just a layman's casual observation that's likely lacking in important details, but if Alliance lost to Na'Vi, then that probably says something about Alliance.

Na'Vi is that team that is EXTREMELY overrated but not exactly bad.
They won The International and came second in I2
Hmmm, fair enough; so would you say they're not bad but nothing special?
they are better than you

Armlet is cheaper and more effective IMO.
Ahhh, don't you just love it when the russian Vengeful Spirit on your team refuses to believe he's playing a support character, then proceeds to steal all of Specter's and Void's farm so he can build a butterfly immediately after boots?
[editline]3rd June 2013[/editline]
When I confronted him about it, he said that mek and forcestaff are stupid useless items, so why would he build them?
He also laughed at me when I said we really needed him to be support because otherwise we had two hard carries and no support, because he didn't believe that Specter was a hard carry

Funny, because I just had a carry Vengeful Spirit in my last game.
It was the first time I was actually okay with Vengeful Spirit trying to build carry.
Armlet is cheaper and more effective IMO.
Cheaper for sure, and it's a sick pickup on him, but I wouldn't call it more effective overall. Definitely more cost-effective though.
just started playing dota because some friends wanted me to try it out, i really like it so far
i play a lot of starcraft and some league of legends, but i really detest league because it's so simple
dota seems much more complex, and i can actually kind of micro in this game, very neat
been winning my past few games as dragon knight, he seems pretty sweet so far
Never thought that Invoker at lvl 25 was so much fun to play.
Tarrasque, Scepter and Skadi to cast everything.
Yeah, Dota 2 is a lot more complex than League and doesn't get stale after a few months
I wish the character diversity was a little greater, but that's my only gripe
So far I got these on elder titan the times I played it
Urn > bottle (if mid or mid doesn't have one)> brown boots > mana boots
After that I see if I'm balling or not and how I am doing with my man, been picking shiva's guard/mek
Any tips or stuff I should consider?
I also get really annoyed at how oblivious most people are about certain abilities, I land a perfect stun with spirit, instead of using the sleep time to position themselves better they attack the hero right away and guess what, I can't catch him because I'm slow as shit and my spirit is still on cooldown
and I'm loving how good spirit is to scout

What about sven? if they don't have strong nukes the extra armor from warcry should be enough
Hmmm, fair enough; so would you say they're not bad but nothing special?
People hate them because they are popular, thus everyone expects them to do excessively well and if they underperform even momentarily, people get mad.
Na'Vi is a good team, proved that quite a few times. They did have their downtime after TI1 if I recall correctly where they lost quite a bit of matches against teams that "in theory" were weaker, but they seem to be shaping up to take TI3 and not settle for 2nd place.
Back at TI1 they had same kind of popularity NoTidehunter had at Sweden (prior to becoming Alliance), so it shows how much of a moody "lady" Dota's 2 community is.

my biggest gripe right now is leavers - they're really uncommon in league for me, and if you leave in starcraft you lose because i play 1v1s
the hardest thing for me, then, is trusting teammates

It gets much better as you play more.

I feel the opposite, I think there are heroes for all tastes and all kinds of players

okay so I may have gone like 11/3/4 on a 18 min game, but this is actually bad
on mondays, there's a 1 hour gap from when I get home from school, to when I have to go to work. Sand king and I rolled our lane so hard that wisp ragequit, and his whole team left soon after
meaning that that 18 min game left me with 40 mins to kill, yet not enough to start another game.

i hate when this happens :-(
So yeah I just met this guy....
http://dotabuff.com/players/125295401
He even roleplayed perfectly calling everyone useless feeders
I see he built Shadow Blade into Dagon
[editline]3rd June 2013[/editline]
Holy shit, he looks like the biggest asshole player in the world with these item builds :v:
